  1. I do. All 3 were bought on sale though as with most of the sets I buy. I will almost never pay RRP anymore, 25% off or more is what I normaly like to go for.
  2. Thanks for all the comments guys. As for how long I have been collecting? Since 1999 and the first clones (Attack of the Clones)and I only have about 20 of them. Then when the first Battle Packs came out early 2007 was when the army building really took off! You are spot on, though I do have large zip-lock bag with 30 odd clones that did not make it into this picture. They might take a bit of back seat for the rest of the year as I am going a bit mad for the Geonosian Warrior figs right now.
  3. It is about that time of year again when the new Battle packs have been on sale and the last 6 months of BL buys are now ready for a Army picture update.
  4. I am expecting to get something very similar in the post this year, so as a reminder here is what I got last year.
  5. I bought 15 of the Shadow ARF in the first 4 months after the promo and paid no more than £15 ($25) a fig. I think that was a more sort after fig too, as it was a clone and more collectors would want multiples of the fig (like me ). I am only after 1 TC-14, 2 at the most to keep one mint. I did see else where you though this years promo was going to be £75. I would think that very unlikley and the £50 price point of last years promo and the current mini TIE Fighter promo is a much better guess.
  6. All I said was it was unfair the TLC had not stuck to there own term and conditions so some fans missed out. How on earth do we get to life is not fair form that! I don't know why you have such a problem with these terms. As I said before, the promotion is great! A new amazing fig will be available to everybody on the level playing field. If fans have bought all the sets and don't want to buy any more, the secondary market will be there for them to get their copy of the fig. We all know this to be true. Look again at the promotion, I am fine with it as it is. How are they being Excluded? They have the choice to buy more sets, or not. That is a choice not exclusion and again they have the secondary market if you want the fig. Of course not. This is getting off topic so if you want to continue I suggest you PM me.
  7. Only just seeing this Doc for the first time and as not one who is into the SNOT work I must admit this really is excellent! The SNOT design really works on the N1 as the smooth lines of the ship look so much better than in plates.
  8. This is most definitely your best one yet! As others have said, your minifigs choices are excellent!
  9. Who said anything about waiting to make your purchases? I sure did not! For those that have already commited to buying the entire line up till now, even they have the chance to get the TC-14 fig with the new UCS R2-D2. Yes, that is a expensive set but if you already have everything else there is a good chance you are what consumers call a early adopter and will want the set on release. It sounds to me like you are the one with sour grapes as you have already bought the sets you want and don't want to have to buy more Star Wars sets. Well if that is the case then there is still the secondary market. I'll make this very simple. Lego Star Wars Promo is for Lego Star Wars fans!
  10. Well as a toy manufacturer TLC can not price their products in direct competion with the very retail outlets that bring in so much of their turnover. This means that other than exclusive sets they use the promotional items to get customers to buy direct in times whe the toy market might be normaly quiet. If any so called fan of the star wars lego line wants the fig it is very accessable to them. Last year 3-4 weeks before the promotion I received a postcard in the post informing me of the up and coming promo so there was not much chance I would miss it. I am sure alot of buyers go looking for discounts in the retail outlets that you just don't get direct from Lego so useing that as your argument is pretty flawed. Even then look at the USA Easter egg promos that are available, the mini sets are quite often found in the stores you mention. I am sure the last thing TLC want is loads of people ringing them direct to complain that they can't get the promo on their order. Their customer service is far too good for that kind of attiude. As for correcting the problem it is the old saying of bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted. The damage was already done in the very early hours of the promotion. They had already set the president that any order would get the fig at checkout so it was just a matter of the supply running out even before the 1st day was up!
  11. What are you talking about! The promo offer is great not unfair! We have know this was coming for a while now as this is not the first time we have had a May the 4th offer. I think you missed my point. All I want is TLC to stick to their own terms and conditions and only give the minifig to Star Wars purchases. This is what should have happened last year but it did not so some fans missed out. All this means is hopfully they have the online checkout system set correctly this time so that it works as it should.
  12. Well last year the May the forth promo was £50 of star wars sets (don't get me going again ), so hopfully it will be the same this year.
  13. I think you are wrong on this statement. I have no problem with a Star Wars fan buying 3 orders of Star Wars sets over $75 (or £50)to get 3 of the fig. As I said in my last post this is a promo for Star Wars fans first and foremost! Last year people were buying other large sets from other lines and getting the fig, while some Star Wars fans missed out! On what form of rationalization is that fair! The target consumer was being let down while others managed to get loads for their Bricklink stores and ebay sales. Go and read the May the 4th topic from last year and see the posts from all the fans that missed out, as others who weren't buy sets and were not even fans got the fig! Then come back here and tell me what is fair again!
  14. What is there to be fair about? The promo is for Star Wars Lego fans! So when a Star Wars lego fan buys star wars lego he gets a free promo! Pretty simple if you ask me. Just read the image, it does not say with any $75 purchase. I hope they are very strict this year and then the fans that want the promo with their Star Wars buys get it and don't miss out like some did last year.
  15. That was the problem with what happened last year! The offer clearly stated that it was on purchases of Star Wars lego and yet they still shipped the promo with other orders! I hope they get it right this year, as the offer ACpin has showed us says the same thing. If you don't want to buy Star Wars don't expect the fig!
  16. Much more that 200 units! I think the Darth Maul fig will end up as part of the annual TrU UK promo where you get a free fig if you spend £30. BL sales are already flying! It has already been sold 261 times and there are new listings for sale appearing daily! That does not even include ebay sales. BL Darth Maul sale figures.
  17. Last year it was $75 in the US and £50 in the UK.
  18. I have my moments. Not many of them, but I do have them.
  19. After what started out a quiet month ended up being a big spend this month. From Bricklink and ebay I ordered about 1500 parts for my Endor project and.. 14 CW Plain Clone troopers 1 Super battle droid 2 Magna Guards 12 Horn Company Clone Troopers 12 ARF Clone Toopers 13 Geonosian Warrior 1 8019 Republic Attack Shuttle (used) New sets in the Argos 3 for 2 deal 3 9488 Elite Clone & Commando Droid BP 4 9491 Geonosian Cannon 1 9490 Droid Escape (U) 1 3866 Star Wars: The Battle of Hoth 2 9492 TIE Fighter 1 9493 X-wing Starfighter
  20. The packageing looks smaller and different than the one I got from a EU seller.
  21. This is one set where mixing the old grays and new has really paid off! It looks much more like are beloved hunk of junk with that dirty, grimey look of the mixed grays.
  22. While I really like the details you have on your Snowspeeder I am afriad it has made it so big it is way off scale. This is the reason the Lego one is small, it is just a small speeder in the films. Your Hoth scene is excellent though!
  23. Argos UK has a 3 for 2 Star wars sets that are in the in store range! Just placed 3 separate orders! Man I love lego 3 for 2 deals!
