Yeah, I've been thinking about that, too. Unfortunately I do not have enough parts for a complete casing. But reducing the two cranks to one is a good approach.

Hi folks! I built a MOC that can turn its wheels 90 degrees and drive sideways. It also has a few more features. What do you think about the concept? I would be grateful for constructive criticism or suggestions for what this could be used as a basis. Thanks!

Good idea. However, I do not own an EV3. But I plan to get one soon. Yes, maybe I'll make another video in which I try out different surfaces. It is not intended for any real use. However there are several kinematic approaches built in, which could be used for other applications in the future. My challenge was to implement these functions in the smallest possible space.
