  1. You've got to be kidding. There has to be more than this. It's obviously not fair to judge this based on a leaked image we can barely see but I honestly think there's a possibility my version might be better. I know that's incredibly narcissistic but wow I am not impressed with these microscales in this from first glance.
  2. I swear to God please just have it be something good, please I'm worried about this new thing having Bomb Omb Battlefield in it if the rumors are true. I made my own microscale Bomb Omb Battlefield. What is even the point now? It's like owning BOTH of the UCS Millennium Falcons. Like, yeah, there's differences, but damn. It's part of a Mario MOC I've been trying to make instructions for and I hope this set doesn't invalidate a third of it. I was really hoping it would be Peach's Castle, I was going to do my first large-scale custom build by making the terrain and everything around it. The theme that's the most important to me is bringing the most anxiousness. It's the one time I just wish they would give this theme the regular treatment and NOT go super outside-the-box. There are a million versions of the popular Star Wars vehicles, why not try something like this with that theme instead? Just give us the standard, high quality Lego treatment instead of the constant curveballs for these designs. Granted, the more I think about it the more possibilities I imagine, so I'm sure it will be good. It's just a pain having to shift expectations to something else every time with this theme.
  3. Falcon just made a post about a mini Disney Castle allegedly coming? The few things we know about Peach's Castle (that it's a licensed castle in microscale allegedly coming out soon) seems to pretty much apply to this too. This is just me being paranoid, but I'm hoping we haven't been misinformed. We know the Nintendo D2C has a different set number, right?
  4. Like most people here, I recycle the majority of my boxes, but for the few that I keep (usually for nostalgic reasons), I'm getting a little paranoid about making sure I'm putting them in a situation where they will stay in good condition. I see all these posts from Lego groups I follow on Facebook where people just show all their boxes stacked up to fill up a whole closet. What do all of you do? I'm going to get some very large cardboard boxes to put these in, but are there any extra steps I should take?
  5. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid, but I'm starting to get the feeling that given how the Mario sets have only been released in very specific, far-apart waves, and how long it has taken to get any info, does anyone think Peach's Castle may actually be fake? The fact that white masonry bricks are still available is the best evidence, but given the insane amount of leaks for everything, is this possibly false info to set us off? Has that ever happened in previous years? A rumored or "leaked" set that ended up never getting confirmed?
  6. This obviously doesn't apply to just Action and Adventure themes, but nonetheless I think it best fits here. I'm creating a MOC which intends to use a lot of play features, a lot of traps, and a lot of special little tricks. What are some of the best and most interesting play functions in sets over the years? For me, some would have to be the clock tower from the 2nd Hogwarts, since it has multiple things going on, and the light brick stone from 7572 Quest Against Time from Prince of Persia, since it actually requires inserting the dagger to activate it. Any more examples?
  7. UPDATE: A few years ago, a friend's older brother gave me their collection of old Lego magazines, which included the years the first Batman line was launched. I got out the magazines to see if I could find any more info and QUITE LITERALLY the FIRST thing I found was a ripped up magazine and this as the first (remaining) page: http://imgur.com/gallery/H8vaAnS I'm not exactly... blown away with how it looks, but it might be worth putting together just out of obscurity. Does anyone remember this? I'm still unable to find the full instructions.
  8. https://brickipedia.fandom.com/wiki/Bat-Rail Allegedly, there was an official Alternate Model for the Batman I/2006 line that could be entered via entering the secret phrase "BATRAIL" on the Lego Club website, though it has since been lost. Not only can I find no more info about this, but official combination and alternate models done through Lego Club seem to be very poorly documented and hard to find. Does anyone remember this?
  9. May I ask where people are finding this list of names for Series 3? I can't seem to find it. Thank you!
  10. I've been wanting to get a tiger for a moc where it's kind of the main part. I really need it to be a traditional orange one with black stripes, but they are expensive and rare since the kind I need only appeared in the 2017 Lego Jungle 60162 Jungle Air Drop Helicopter. Does anyone think we will get a piece of that specific animal in one of these soon, or should I bite the bullet and pick the older ones up? The fact that this is the first time we're getting an elephant piece since those two sets in Orient Expedition, over 15 years ago, tells me I shouldn't hold my breath.
  11. As someone who has been making a microscale Mario MOC for a long time now, I'm not sure how to feel about the prospect of a Microscale Peach's Castle. I do think it could be done in Minifigure scale, but I really want it to be able to stand up to Hogwarts or Disney Castle. If it WAS microscale, it should have the surrounding landscapes from Mario 64, and ideally even some extra blocks and level stuff around it, too. I wasn't really angry at the reveal of the style of sets last year, so I do have a handful of them, but it's getting pretty thin and I have no interest at all from just about anything in the third wave.
  12. The two bigger sets of the first wave (the mech and container ship) were both amazing, but something I had no interest in. This mountain is absolutely stunning!
  13. Hey, I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I've been looking to sell a few of the figures from my copy of Ninjago Gardens. The thing is, the current listings for Minifigs are all over the place, price-wise. How long should I wait to see the general price I should put them at? Any guidelines or tips on this?
  14. I parted out Cafe Corner last year, and am extremely happy with how it turned out. I actually have a decent percentage of the parts needed for 10190 Market Street, not even counting the color/part variation substitutions I can make for elements not on display. However, I have a few questions in general. First, how do people here feel about having just the building and not the market next to it? I like the market quite a lot and it is an important part of the visual identity of the set, but I like the idea of having an individual 16x32 to equalize the space with Assembly Square taking up a 48x32 space. The bigger question is that in some ways, I feel reluctant as to whether or not I should even go forward with this. I love the process of parting out the sets and saving money, but what I really want right now is to build one of my own designs. The only problem is that the design isn't finished. Throughout so much of my last MOC, I wanted to buy a set but the only one I absolutely LOVED was my own design, that still wouldn't be finished for a long time. Has anyone else gone through something similar? Thoughts on this?
  15. Thank you, but I actually already figured out what to do. I have now completely redesigned the mosaic and I am much happier with it.
  16. Hello, I've been trying to create a round mosaic for a floor since I felt that other techniques did not provide enough possibility for detail. However, as this is my first real time doing a mosaic, I'm not feeling confident with how it is going so far. I'm not sure exactly what I could do to plan it out better, and I'm worried about the extra space you see here. I would love to hear any thoughts or opinions. https://imgur.com/a/5F3sCX2
  17. I'm already planning a landscaping moc to fit Peach's Castle for whenever it comes out
  18. Hoping it's actually NOT Peach's Castle, as I would ideally want that to be around $350 if not more. Though not as tall as the Disney Castle, it would be very wide and deep, but still with decent height, too. Ideally would LOVE ROB the Robot or maybe even something Minifigure-scale similar to The Village from Minecraft; a large level with lots of different things going on in one big structure, kind of like the Mario area at Universal Studios.
  19. Please some stuff based off of comics. Please please pleeeease Dormammu and/or Super Skrull!
  20. I'm going to go ahead and bet that the D2C is a giant sculpture of Mario's 3D model made out of regular bricks, since it seems Lego is dedicated to making everything fans have already done and nothing that only they could do. (Yes I do love the NES set still)
  21. I've been looking forward to this set for quite a while, but upon seeing it, I am now filled with a little bit of anxiety as well as the obvious excitement. The design is amazing, and I definitely want it, but I can't help worry about what I'll have to put away to display this next to Ninjago City. It's funny that the two sets I'm really interested in for next year (so far) are both asian gardens that technically connect to modular buildings.
  22. Really compact, well done color schemes, among a million other more obvious positive qualities.
  23. I have started fully getting into designing my own custom builds and am interested in the idea of possibly selling instructions for them. I have a few designs completely built and ready and a couple more which will be finished soon. I'm currently making an alternate build for a modular Lego Brand Store, but before I really get into it, I feel a bit weird about it and want to gauge interest. The main thing that places doubt in my mind is that I really want to use 2 copies of 40305 from 2018 and 1 copy 40105 from 2014. This allows me to add a lot more detail, but given that the main point of alternate builds is the ease of getting the parts for them, I wonder if also requiring this other set would completely diminish it. Then again, the market for custom instructions is hardcore and niche enough that I feel it wouldn't be a problem for people. Now I realize I may be coming off very money-minded here, and normally I would just build what I like, but for some reason I'm having mixed initial thoughts about this model. I also applied to my local Lego Store recently since I am a student; maybe there's a subconscious connection there that's contributing to my anxiousness.
  24. When I heard the idea for this set I was really excited at first but seeing it in full doesn't instantly "wow" me the way a lot of big sets like the NES, Barracuda Bay, or Haunted House do. I'm reminded of the Taj Mahal; also the biggest when it was released, but a bit too plain and repeating with a dumbed down color palette. I don't think this one suffers from those factors AS much, but still. I took Latin throughout most of my school life so I love the concept, but I just don't know about this one.
