Well it seemed this thread was good for everyone, thanks doug! :-) We learned how to critique better, doug took away a few tips, Chuck learned how to not be so harsh, and I learned that the Your Own Creations forum is a lot funner than I first thought! :-D I agree with Dr. S, even though you have already destroyed your ship Doug, if something doesn't look like it was meant to be, then it can easily be something else! Not everything has to fly. That ship, with a bit of modding, and some wheels or treads, could easily become a cool futuristic, rough scrap metal tank, thus giving a reason for the blockyness and improvising! ;-) TTFN! >:-)

Are we finally getting some female accessories !!!
Batbrick replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Town
It might also be one of those fun runners bags. Yu know, the one they keep their drink bottle in! X-D TTFN! >:-) -
Thanks for that info Wout! *sweet* ( See *yoda* , I got it right! :-P :-D ) I will definitely get that holiday house, and some of the other sets too. If the police station is as good as the recent firestation, then I will get it and pull apart my old one for peices! >:-) And Sam89, I do believe that the movie will be Speed Racer, by the Wachowski Brothers. I might end up getting ALL the police sets, so I can make a fascist police state MOC, especially with that Police Crisis Truck! *wub* Is there anything else you remember Wout? (ungrateful I know! X-D ) TTFN! >:-)

I voted for TinyPiesRUs for his awesome and hilarious bar brawl! :-D Gotta love that guy's head sticking out the window, and you managed to fit so many figs in it so well! For the indian one I had to vote for ZeekeyBoogeyDoog! The outpost was cool and well-made, and I love how the indians cheated by going around the vignette! :-D Everyone's entries were great though, well done guys! *sweet* TTFN! >:-)

I kind of agree with Mister Phes about the design being a bit of a step back from last year :'-( (don't kill me! ) But I think that this only applies to SOME sets this year. The Dwarf Mine I think lacks a good design, but on the otherhand I think that this Battlecar and the Troll Attackship have some very good designs. I think it is just a bit disjointed :-/ BUT, I think TLC in my opinion has stepped forward in this wave, not backward, because to make up with it this second line the sets have been given far more creativity, and gone to new places. We now have trolls, dwarves, orcs and wizards. Cool new peices, and some nice little innovations on some of the sets. So for me, Castle 08, earns a: *y* *y* *sweet* TTFN! >:-)

________ That is weird, is it confirmed? I reckon that movie must be Speed Racer, by the Wachowski Brothers. I wonder why they would do that though! *wacko* TTFN! >:-)

____ Stalking you iamded! *skull* I also built a Batman vig last night, I will post it soon! :-) I think you, or anyone who wants to build up their city then the Police and Dog, and Fireman won't help much. I will get them just for completion. The good city stuff lies in the Construction worker, which gives us a nice cement mixer (and one of those new round peices) to put around a construction yard, and, the best, the recycleman, so you can get lots of dumpsters and rubbishbins to layer round your city! ;-) I hope that if they make more city impulse sets, one will have a female civilian, infront of a lamp post, desperately need lamp posts.......... :'-( I don't understand all the hate for the MM ones, sure the line was crap, but the minirobot allows you to get a bunch of cool astronauts without having to buy the sets! *sweet* TTFN! >:-)

Indiana Jones: What are your expectations?
Batbrick replied to Lord Beckett's topic in LEGO Licensed
___________ Yes they definitely make that! :'-) If TLC doesn't make chinese gangsters then I will be forced to whinge about it here! :-D But I think I would prefer a set that is actually the bar ITSELF, so i could get the rolling gong and chinese dancers. (not likely though! :'-( ) Another one that should be made is the opening of the ark ceremony, a good excuse to get Nazis, ghosts, exploding heads (I'm talking to you Sir Nadroj! :-P ) and some good tan desert peices! ;-) TTFN! >:-) -
______ Yes it was understandable Lord Beckett, though it was a bit wacko! :-D *wacko* I understand how many are disappointed by the torsoes of the Germans, and I myself would have preferred it with green, but right now they are good, not as good as they could be, but ultimately they are good Nazi soldiers in some very GREAT sets. I won't rant about how TLC is too lazy or can't afford to just keep making torsoes, but I will just say that in every great set there is a disappointment, and that disappointment in this case can't be that much of a huge one. :-) TTFN! >:-)

Why thankyou iamded! *sweet* I think 8-| ................... :-P Yes, thankyou for that wake up call *vader* , this topic is going off-topic X-O I think that with the new set discussion going on in the castle 08 thread, that maybe a new one on elves and forestmen should be started. I thought I would ask first given my badluck at starting topics. What do you think *vader* ? TTFN! >:-)
-
Thanks *vader* for posting the Battlecar! *wub* (the love was for the battle car, not you btw X-D ) Wow! And some of you people doubted this second line! :-P I love how the Trolls and Orcs are like fantasy renditions of the vikings, only rougher >:-) , and this one pushes this point home *sweet* . The chicken leg is an excellent touch and the poor placing of the wooden boards really make an awesomely poor and rough wagon! *wub* Well done natelite for spotting those swords, I REALLY, REALLY hope they are new molds. My only complaint is the lack of dwarfes, so far from the sets you only get 6 *n* But that is not a major detractor! :-) I also love the placing of that flag! *wub* TTFN! >:-)

I am going to say it out loud: I think it is a bit crappy. There, thats not rude, its the truth. Doug, you said it yourself. BUT! The key word here being "but" (no one better think that is funny :-( ) We do know you lack a lot of elements, and from what I can see it does have some great design in it. I love the bubble cockpit on the side, I had never thought of something like that before :-$ , and the bottom gun connection is resourceful, and the escape hatch is a very nice hatch that looks good open and closed. Overall I will say you are a very good MOCer doug, as evidenced by your cool car/hovercar, but at the moment seem trapped from a lack of peices. What I will say that you have that many don't is improvisation and recoursefulness, you manage to get good MOCs (or in this case a few good building techniques ;-) ) from a relatively limited supply. Thankyou for sharing doug, it will be a pleasure to see what you make next! *sweet*

I am stalking you STILL iamded! *skull* Well while we're discussing these sets why don't we write what we plan to get? Just an idea. Heres my list: Sentry: At least 10 or more, I will use the grill helmet armour on blank grey legs and torsos to get two figs from one set. Wizard: Probably just 2 or 3, to get two or three wizards because they are neat, and the beards, I desparately need more beards. And owls, I don't have any owls :-$ , and that new 4wide round peice. Mini-Robot: two, so I can have a couple of astronauts, more pickaxes are always welcome, and two cool bright green gems for my treasure stash. Alien Jet: 1 or 2, to get that new peice and because even though the jellies are crap it is better to have them to make fun of. Police and Dog: only 1 for that 50 speed sign and another dog. Construction: 1 for completion, though that cement mixer aint half bad. Fire Man: 1 for completion again and a fire peice, can't have to many fire peices! ;-) Recycle Man: 2 or 3, I desparately need those rubbish bins, the fig aint bad, and the orange recycle bin is pretty good for the colour and simplicity. Wow! who knew that such small sets could take so much money away from me! :-D :-( TTFN! >:-)
-
Oops! :-| Forgot to say what I would like to see! For me it would be elves, for even more fantasy *wub* , great new figs and the fact that they would really just take the place of forestman, so no damage done! But I also think an evil, or another human faction would be very welcome. TTFN! >:-)
-
Thanks TheFrisian! :-) also hollisbrick i hope I didn't offend you I was just making a statement! :-$ I agree that the Sentry is a fantastic army builder, but until I see a definite price in my store or catalogue, I won't say it will be better than Crossbow Attack. BUT! No matter what you have to get this set anyway, even if crossbow attack is better, because just by switching the armour in the impulse set you can have either a soldier *sweet* , a grill helmet knight :'-) , or, using grey torso and legs (of which I have plenty) a soldier AND grill helmet! *wub* I still have no idea why they didn't release an archer instead of a wizard! *wacko* What a stupid marketing tactic. They should have put the Wizard in the tower of the upcoming "Attack on the Tower" set to insure almost certain purchases for a special fig, and release an archer in impulse to insure lots of sales from armybuilders! :-| TTFN! >:-)

Welcome to Eurobricks Oobie blah blah blah baloobie! X-D I see you have gotten round the board pretty quick then! Good to have another Indy fan! Enjoy your stay! TTFN! >:-)

I am stalking you still iamded! And you had thought I'd given up! *skull* Also, iamded, I updated my profile info and you are included in it if you wanted to read it! :-) But still stalking! *skull* I would (no offense to people who would like this) dread a USC set coming out. I am a completest, with the exception of only a few I buy a set from a line I plan to complete. A USC would be expensive :'-( , and feel a tad unecessary. Also, an exclusive would be fine, despite the postage costs to Tasmania! :-( Now for a verdict from you guys: What would you like to see more: Forestmen, or Elves? TTFN! >:-)

__________ The chest in the desert chase is filled with jewels, but the chest itself is most definitely chrome gold! :'-) *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* One thing I want to know though, are the peices that make up the ark in the snake temple set coloured chrome gold too? I really hope so! :'-) TTFN! >:-)
-
I agree, these are great! :'-) But the price 8-| ................It isn't looking good. :'-( About $4.80 aus I think. :'-( TTFN! >:-)
-
__________ how can you be disappointed hollisbrick? Instead of a tiny tower you can make that soldier a knight with the armour! and vice versa. And if you just use another body, dark grey on legs and torso, you can make 2 minifigs from this set. TWO! A soldier and a knight! *wub* TTFN! >:-)

Indiana Jones: What are your expectations?
Batbrick replied to Lord Beckett's topic in LEGO Licensed
Definitely the bridge scene in the Temple of Doom. we would get Mola Ram, Indy, Willy, Short Round and lots of Thuggee guards. Maybe even british soldiers! :'-) It would have lots of playability (bridge snaps in half, rafters can break etc), excellent figs and probably a great design. TTFN! >:-) -
__________ ooh! 8-
-
That is an excellent robot there Luxor V *sweet* *y* *y* ! And I love the well-chosen name too! :-P I like how the man fits into the chest, and the weapon it holds looks great, especially in the 4th pic with dark lighting *skull* ! It looks pretty posable, but my only gripe is the head, I keep thinking a guy is meant to sit on that seat! *wacko* A great robot in all then! *y* TTFN! >:-)

Thanks for that little update Shakar! :-) Where have you been lately? :-D I don't think that the very special item is the Dwarf's Mining, but I reckon said set is in the 08 line. Catalogs have stated it comes in less than a month but maybe that is only special release, I'm probably wrong (as always! :-$ ) but you might as well account for all the variables and say that we have a very special item to still see, and 1, or possibly 2 other retail products ;-) Anyway, if it was a big castle, who should it be? The skellies? The Trolls? The Dwarfs (not likely, they have a mine), The Crownies? (even less likely, they already have a castle) I'd go with skellies seeing as they don't seem to feature in these new sets much. TTFN! >:-)

You know what this means right? You can buy ten of these and have ten soldiers or ten knights depending on what you put on him! GENIUS! *wub* Or, since the knights didn't even have printing, you could put the armour on a grey fig with normal face and veola! 10 knights and 10 soldiers! :'-) TTFN! >:-)
