Very courageous to start over to get the result you want! The colour scheme can definitely work, but your side is bending a bit heavy, almost like a V shape. I think you are trying to get a curve in there, which would look more like the wide part of an ellipse. (3 deckers don't curve that heavily) You can see it here in this picture of my favourite French 3 decker, the Royal Louis:

Looks just like the real thing. The weapons and undercarriage look great. I bet those undercarriages are hard to make? Only the air intake on the tail could do wit a bit more detail, to make it really look like an intake.
