  1. Yeah, but like I said, a Duel set takes care of the final Knights. Plus, the Havoc Marauder looks like an Imperial shuttle. Therefore, even OT purists looking for a neat Imperial craft might be persuaded to buy it, and the Bad Batch could be view as Storm Trooper Commandos. A Sequel set is a bad gamble, especially one so obscure.
  2. Not to me. I watch the movie with a friend of mine and laughed my blocks off. Palpatine was the best part of the movie to me, only because of Ian's performance. That said, they covered it excellently with the first and second waves. We do not need a Night Buzzard, like @brobert said, no one knows what it is (no one being the average fan. Hell, I didn't know what it was, and I'm a superfan). A Duel set plus maybe a Star Destroyer and that's the main stuff done and dealt with. What surprises me is that they picked the Night Buzzard over the Havoc Marauder, a ship that would have larger appeal. Even as far safe options go, the HM looks like an Imperial craft, which would appeal to more people than a smaller version of the Night Fox from Justice League. Edit for clarity: The Havoc Marauder is the Bad Batch shuttle.
  3. In short, I predicted between a Mandalore Speeder, Red & Black Mandalore Starfighter, AAT (confirmed now), Anakin's Interceptor, and/or a Tri-Fighter. I also assumed the April set to be a Duel on Exegol, (which has been hinted at being true), but nothing has been said outright. I also hope the AAT is at the $39.99 price point, as that not only means a decent size, but a better chance of decent figures. Fingers crossed for Jet Troopers. Hearing that Grievous is tan is great, as he should be the same color as Battle Droids, but also kind of worrying, since Lego has messed up the Hoth color palate. Hopefully any Rebels in the AT-AT will be white and not tan. There are also not one, but at least 3 skipped set numbers, which is something they've never done before. We have 80, 81, 83, 84, 86, and 88. Which means that 82, 85, and 87 are just randomly missing for no apparent reason. Maybe retail exclusives?
  4. Maybe. After all @jdubbs did say at least one more correct guess in my list(s), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that either means figure wise, or actual set wise. Then again, he could've just meant the Duel on Exegol set I speculated. So, if the Duel on Exegol is semi-confirmed to be the last April set, AT-AT, AAT, Soulless One, and Night Buzzard make up 4/6s of the Summer Wave, then we're only missing two more sets. And then we wait on figure confirmations.
  5. Everything is transpiring according to my design!
  6. Yes! Friggin' called it (in the Wishlist thread). Come on Jet Troopers! That sounds like a cop-out for Lego. 4/6 yes, but when only one is over $60, then we have a problem. Besides, nothing wrong with trying to stay positive.
  7. It would, but since they apparently chose the Night Buzzard (kill me please ) over the Havoc Marauder (the Bad Batch shuttle), I'm guessing 2021 if ever. One Last Hope for Clone Wars sets: Battle of Mandalore ($29.99): Ahsoka, Maul, Bo-Katan, 332nd Trooper. Mandalorian Speeder. AAT ($39.99): Anakin, Battle Droids (x2), Jesse, Jet Trooper. Tri-Fighter ($29.99): Captain Rex, Battle Droid, Wat Tambor.
  8. So, where are the TCW sets again? We've got a ROTS set (Soulless One), ESB (AT-AT), and now the Night Buzzard from TROS. I'm glad about the next two Knights of Ren, but couldn't we have gotten a full duel set instead? That strikes the top 3 sets from the summer. Now there's only the low-to-mid-range sets. Assuming the last 3 are completely Clone Wars, there's almost no chance for any of the important ships. *deep breath* Still waiting and holding out hope for a stellar wave.
  9. Scooby-Doo sets sold out within hours of release, I'd say the theme did well. Btw, I do think the wave was good, just some minifig choices could've been different. Captain Cutler, btw is kind of easy to make purist (CMF series 8 Diver), and the Space Kook could use the large diving apparatus. And I do think that LEGO can balance profit and fan satisfaction. Fan votes and Ideas (for the most part) demonstrate this well, but in the end, as fans we take the good with the less than ideal. Thanks for a solid discussion btw.
  10. I have to disagree with you on a couple points. 1. Lego absolutely values profit over fan satisfaction. After all, just look at a theme like City or Star Wars, and realize how many Police sets, Fire sets, X-Wings, Millennium Falcons, and TIE Fighters those themes receive. Why? Because they sell. EASY. It's harder to sell, say a Separatist Shuttle over your 15th X-Wing variant. It's harder to sell a civilian jetliner over another police station. With literally all of the themes you listed, Lego saw easy cash grabs. Put out the bare minimum, and count the money. I'm not against that, however, it is business after all. But unlike Scooby-Doo, who has literally decades of material Lego could've covered, Powerpuff Girls gave us the girls and Mojo Jojo. Good enough. Flintstones was an Ideas set, if given a whole theme (2-3 sets), we would've at least gotten Pebbles and Bam-Bam. Doctor Who isn't massively popular outside of the UK. Yes, it has its fans, but unlike Harry Potter, Doctor Who is a niche. Even more of a niche was Angry Birds. Great idea, but about 5 or so years too late. Incredibles doesn't mean much here as 1) we got the whole family plus Frozone and Edna Mode, and 2) it's a movie. With an inherently small cast which got covered thoroughly. We even got Syndrome. Scooby-Doo ascends all of these in both the iconic aspect and the lore/history aspect. Lego is a business. Even further than that it's a corporation. Money keeps them afloat. They will always prioritize the dollar over niche pockets. If they think a niche pocket is large enough to satisfy corporate needs, then they'll invest in it, which is why we have so many licenses in the first place. 2. I don't think Scooby-Doo needed a comeback to be excellent. If we had a stellar one & done wave, then I'd be happy. No one is saying "Make Every Villain" either. But Scooby-Doo is more than just the kids. It's the monsters too. I'm glad we got the Headless Horseman, but a Mummy, Vampire, Zombie, Ghost, Knight, and (non-canon) Swamp Monster? Over something cool and/or kooky like an undead Spaceman, a phantom diver, energy ghosts and tar monsters? No. We didn't need "Scooby" specific rehashes of previous Lego monsters. They needed to give us something unique. A one & done theme, yes, but one to remember. 3. I never used to understand the "We want more Lego IPs over more licenses" argument. Until today. Wishing for more pointless additions to Brickset's theme list that have big movie tie-ins, or ancient cartoon affiliations, only fuels the point I made at the top: Lego sees one & done themes as cash grabs. Plain and simple. We live in a world where you go to Lego.com, and over half the theme list is made up of various licenses. I have nothing against licensed themes, I love Star Wars, but there was a time when Lego made money by satisfying fans with cool, original products. I first got into Lego in 2009. My first set was the stone chopper from Power Miners. I still remember the commercials for Atlantis, Space Police, Power Miners, etc. I went to Toys R Us, and I had enough money for the 2007 X-Wing, but instead, I bought some Atlantis sets. Licenses are just excuses for Lego to churn out poorly done themes and make a few dollars. Trolls and the Minions movie are getting Lego sets. Scoob! isn't. Angry Birds movie got sets, which sat until way after they should have been retired. The next new license should come from Lego Ideas. If someone makes a set based off, say the Jetsons, and it gets 10,000 votes, then we need a Hanna Barbera theme. I mean, we don't even need a new project, just look at the Flintstones set. 4. There used to be a time when Lego had licenses aplenty, but they still cared for each theme. Harry Potter's getting so much love with it's return that I wish I was more of a Potter fan than a Star Wars fan. Indiana Jones, 2008-2009 era Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean even. Lego took care of them well. Then the one & dones started with Prince of Persia. And now, we get random licenses almost every year. It's not even worth the investment. At most, you'll get a couple hardcore fans of a certain IP buying one set, and at least, a few hardcore Lego fans getting excited over two sets and then absolutely nothing else. I mean, why was PPG even a theme? They gave us two sets and dusted their palms. I'd rather have no sets of an IP I really like, than a 2-set theme with no future. At this point, I'd even give up Star Wars as a theme if it meant Lego giving the licenses under its control more love. Tl;dr: 1. Lego's a business and values money, plain and simple. Let's not kid ourselves. 2. Scooby-Doo had the makings of a fine theme. But Lego executed it poorly. Compared to the mass of other Scooby-Doo toy manufacturers, Lego dropped the ball hard. 3. We do not need more pointless licenses only for them to 4. get half-done. Hardcore fans of the IP won't care much for the Lego, and Lego fans of the IP will get jipped. I appreciate optimism, and mean no hostility (sorry about the long post), but we need to start accepting that Lego only pretends to care, only so far as it makes them a bottom line. And they'll keep throwing ridiculous themes at the wall until something sells well enough to stick. Hopefully, it'll be something cool, with a long history to delve into. Crazy to think that Lego had Spongebob, flipping SPONGEBOB in their hands, and nearly wasted the license. Yes, we got the main cast, but Spongebob is so overwhelmingly popular that it could've been another core Lego theme.
  11. Now that we know to expect an AT-AT in the summer, my updated predictions: General Grievous Starfighter: General Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Commander Cody (fingers crossed) AT-AT: AT-AT Driver, General Veers, Snowtrooper (x2, 2014 Design please), Luke Skywalker (Snowspeeder Jumpsuit with white gloves), Hoth Rebel Trooper (2016 design please). If they use the action battle figures, the AT-AT is a hard pass for me. Now to full sets: Mandalorian Starfighter: Red and Black redesign of Pre Viszla's fighter from 2012. Darth Maul, Ahsoka Tano, Bo-Katan Kryze, Mandalorian Super Commando. AAT: CIS Blue and Grey version. Sized similar to 8018. Battle Droid (x2), Battle Droid Pilot, Captain Rex, 501st Jet Trooper. ARC-170: Odd Ball, Clone Pilot, Mace Windu, Astromech Droid. Anakin's Jedi Interceptor: Anakin Skywalker, R2-D2, ARC Trooper Jesse April's mystery set: Duel on Exegol: Darth Sidious, Rey, Ben Solo, Cardo, Kuruk In summary, I now seriously doubt we'll see the Bad Batch, and probably no 332nd troopers (which is fine, they'll likely be one of 2021's battle packs). Duel on Exegol needs to be the fourth set of April, or else it wastes a spot in the Clone Wars wave. No more tan Hoth Rebels please! No more kama-less and backpack-lacking Snowtroopers please! No more X-Wing Jumpsuit Hoth Pilots PLEASE!!! Maul, Ahsoka, and Bo-Katan have to be givens, as are Obi-Wan and Anakin. Rex, Jesse, and a lone Jet Trooper to round out the Clones would be serviceable. The one set I'm up in the air about it the ARC-170. We need it (10 years since the last one), and it's "#safe". Then again, it could be another Homing Spider Droid with Yoda, Tarfful, and a Kashyyyk Trooper . Or, something from the OT, hopefully from Endor, but Hoth is (of course) more likely, especially given the presence of a random AT-AT. But, it is possible, that the AT-AT is Endor, or even Clone Wars related (provided they do something interesting, like show an early AT-AT prototype). But, let's not kid ourselves. Hoth is coming to town, and the AT-AT needs a friend. The AAT is there since the last one was 2015, and "overdo" in Lego's eyes (not like, you know, a Venator, an AT-OT, or something cool and original). However, if it's a 2009 remake, I'll quit my whining and happily fork out the $50 for it . Jedi Interceptor is safe, and the only logical way for them to do Anakin without giving us the Bad Batch. Again, I'm balancing safe sets with necessary figures (well "necessary"). Then too, 5 prequel sets and 1 OT set smells like a trap. But fingers crossed as always.
  12. I hate to say this (wait, no I don't), but Lego would be absolutely stupid not to at least invest in some fan-favorite figures, like the aforementioned Bo-Katan or Bad Batch. Then again, I've had high hopes for sets before, only to have them dashed (especially prequel/clone war sets). However, if Lego decides that the summer wave isn't right for a couple of figures, but the new year (2021, winter specifically) is, then the characters we don't get now, we could get later. Mostly stuff that's best suited for a Battle Pack (NOT THE BAD BATCH). I find it odd that NYTF is about a week away, and we still have almost no idea what to expect in the next wave, besides an AT-AT and the Soulless One. Come on Lego, we want a good wave, and not excuses.
  13. That battle pack pissed me off. We had perfectly canon troopers for them to include (Jet's SpecOps, Desert ARF Troopers, Flametroopers), but no... Let's have something completely pulled from Lego's megablocks. Lego's done some stupid things, but I'll never forgive them for that travesty. They could've made 501st Airbornes, 187th Airbornes, 5th Fleet Airbornes (all in the Hasbro line), something useful. But nope, let's have troops from the non-existent Third Battle of Geonosis.
  14. I would love it for Lego to release a stinger mantis, and a Battle Pack with Purge Troopers and Jaro Tapal's Clones. In fact: Stinger Mantis ($119.99): Greez, Cal Kestis, Cere Junda, BD-1, Merrin, Second Sister, Purge Trooper. (Most Likely) Venator Escape ($24.99): Jaro Tapal, Cal Kestis (padawan), Clone Trooper (Iron Battalion). (Least Likely) Elite Clone Troopers Battle Pack ($14.99): Purge Trooper (x2), Clone Trooper (x2 Iron Battalion). (Middle of the road) Maybe another set with the Ninth Sister, and a duel with Vader, Cal, and Cere.
  15. Well that sucks. Lego keeps coming up with subthemes for Star Wars, just to abandon them (*cough*Constraction*cough*). Though i suppose it won't stop them from releasing more sets in the vein of Cloud City, but under the UCS umbrella.
  16. There is almost no way we're getting a UCS AT-AT anytime soon. With the May UCS being $200 (correct?), it would be too small for an AT-AT. And, not to sound wishlist-y, but I'm guessing they'll try to release another Master Builder Series, since Betrayal on Bespin just retired. Even so, after May, the next UCS will probably be the Gunship. Speaking of. will Lego release a MBS this Fall, or is it too early to tell?
  17. Seeing that Playmobil image reminded me of how disappointed I was with the Scooby-Doo sets. No real classic ghosts, and just the bare minimum effort put into the wave. That feeling when Playmobil has the Space Kook and Captain Cutler, and LEGO gave us Mr. Brown... With no real leaks or confirmation of Scoob sets, I doubt Lego will ever return to the theme. Which sucks, honestly. I would love them to do villains like the Phantom Shadows and the Creeper, and also sets based off the Direct-to-DVD films, but the timing has long passed. But, Jurassic World had a two-year-long hiatus, so we never know.
  18. Provided that none of these get made this year, this are my predictions for next year's Winter Wave But first: October 2020 MBS (since last one was two years ago) Yavin IV Base ($349.99): Large Massassi Temple, Hangar bay, plus several rooms and some jungle. Mon Mothma, Jan Dodonna, Leia Organa, Garven Dreiss, Puck Naeco, Luke Skywalker (Red 5), R2-D2, C-3PO, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Rebel Trooper (x2), Rebel Technician (x2). Miniature X-Wing, Supply carts. Winter 2021 A-Wing Microfighter ($9.99): Rebel A-Wing Pilot (Arvel Crynyd) TIE Fighter Microfighter ($9.99): TIE Fighter Pilot. Boga vs Wheelbike Microfighters ($19.99): General Grievous (two arms), Obi-Wan Kenobi. Rebel Commandos Battle Pack ($14.99): General Airen Cracken (2014 figure with helmet), Lieutenant Blount, 2x Endor Rebel Troopers (Kes Dameron, Tuck Tyrell). Speeder Bike and Turret. Siege Troopers Battle Pack ($14.99): ARC Trooper Jesse, 501st Jet Trooper, 332nd Clone Trooper (x2. With alternate helmets). Barc Speeder. Duel on the Death Star II ($19.99): Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader. Contains of the throne room scenery, but not the throne itself. Capture of the Bounty Hunter ($29.99): Zam Wesell, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jango Fett. Zam Wesell's Speeder. Death Star Breakout ($29.99): Han Solo (Stormtrooper belt), Chewbacca, Stormtrooper, Death Star Trooper. Build is the Cell Block. Wampa Cave ($59.99): Zev Senesca, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker. Includes Tauntaun, Wampa, and (of course) another Snowspeeder. UT-AT ($99.99): Ki-Adi-Mundi, Commander Bacara, Galactic Marine (x2), Super Battle Droid (x2). Includes miniature Tri-Droid (akin to 2014's Utapau Troopers). The Razorcrest ($109.99): The Mandalorian, Greef Karga, The Child, IG-11, Jawa (x2). The Khetanna ($129.99): Jabba the Hutt, Salacious Crumb, Boba Fett, Vizam, Saelt-Marae, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker. October 2021 UCS Nebulon-B Medical Frigate (wishful thinking; $499.99): Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, R2-D2, C-3PO, 2-1B. OR AT-ST ($199.99): Chewbacca, AT-ST Pilot (x2).
  19. Like @BacktoBricks mentioned, Hoth Rebel has hinted at a "cool" remake from 2014 in the highest pricepoint. It is assumed (but not exactly confirmed) that this points to an AT-AT.
  20. Well, if it is indeed an AT-AT, then I wouldn't mind, as long as it came with a decent selection of figs. The last one came with a driver, Veers, a Snowtrooper Commander, and two Snowtroopers. So Luke and a couple of rebels would be a nice inclusion. I mean, it's from 2014, it's "cool", and a dude named "Hoth Rebel" leaked it. It's gotta be an AT-AT!
  21. Brickset had an article which made me want some battle packs: Royal Security: Captain Typho, Naboo Royal Guard (1x Male, 1x Female, sleek helmet), Naboo Security Officer (Blue and Maroon). Small Flash Speeder Gungan Army: 4 Gungan Warriors (various designs). Molded Kaadu with Chariot. Jedi Strike Team: Joclad Danva, Coleman Trebor, Sarrissa Jeng, Roth-Del Masona (unamed in the BP, but clearly modeled after). Arena Defenders: Poggle, Sun Fac, Geonosian Drone, Geonosian Warrior. Geonosis Troopers: Clone Commander, Clone Trooper (x3). Mygeeto Troopers: Clone Commander (Bacara-helmet, plain markings), Galactic Marine (2x Red, 1x Plain) Felucia Troopers: Captain Deviss, 327th Clone Trooper (x3) Coruscant Troopers: 501st Clone Trooper (x2), Shock Trooper, 41st Clone Trooper (Grey) Battle Droids: 4x Battle Droids, 3x Super Battle Droids. STAP and Crab Droid. Wookie Warriors: Merumeru, Wookie Warrior (2x Helmeted, 1x regular). Ornithopter. Separatist Allies: Umbaran Militia (x2), Trandoshan, Neimoidian Warrior. Specialist Clone Troopers: ARF Trooper (Geonosis), SpecOps Clone Trooper (x2, Jet's Battalion), Clone Flame Trooper (Geonosis) Specialist Droids: Commando Droids (x3), Commando Droid Captain. Droidekas (x2) Clone Cadets ($19.99): Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait, Echo, Fives. Higher price for extra figure. 501st Troopers: ARC Trooper Jesse, 501st Clone Trooper (x2), 501st Jet Trooper. Scarif Troopers: Shoretrooper Captain, Shoretrooper (x2), Death Trooper (Specialist) Alderaan Security: Rebel Fleet Trooper (x4). Yavin IV Pilots: Garven Dreiss, Davish Krail, Evaan Verlaine, John D. Branon. Hoth Troopers: General Reeikan, Rebel Officer (dark jacket), Hoth Rebel Trooper (x2). Hoth Pilots: Hobbie Klivian, Wes Janson, Zev Senesca, Will Scotian. Snowtroopers: AT-AT Pilot, Snowtrooper (x2), Cold Assault Biker Scout (or CABS ) Endor Pilots: Grizz Frix, Nien Nunb, Ekelarc Yong, Sila Kott Rebel Commandos: 1 Human Male, 1 Human Female, 1 Zabrak Female, Commander Rex Endor Troopers: Lt. Renz, Stormtrooper (2x), Scout Trooper. Ewoks: Wicket, Logray, Black Ewok, Ewok Warrior (2013 figure). Republic Classes: 1 Clone Naval Officer, 1 Clone Trooper (phase II), 1 Heavy Weapons Clone Trooper, 1 Clone Sharpshooter. Imperial Classes: 1 Imperial Officer, 1 Stormtrooper, 1 Heavy Weapons Stormtrooper (Essentially a Sandtrooper without the dirt), 1 Biker Scout. Rebel Classes: 1 Rebel Officer, 1 Zabrak Male (Assault), 1 Sullustan Male (Heavy), 1 Twi'lek Female (Sharpshooter) And that'll stop me for now. That covers the next 10 years of Lego Star Wars. Of course, none of these'll probably get made.
  22. AT-AT confirmed. Or... Imperial Star Destroyer?
  23. That's what I got from the hint as well. Plus, it would fit with the high price, as the last one was what, $110? So, $30 in a price jump isn't too difficult to imagine. Wasn't the AT-M6 $150? Well, even though we now know it isn't a Gunship/Venator/etc., I'm still tentatively excited.
  24. Some new starships, cruisers, and diplomatic barges (no prices): Naboo Royal Barge: Queen Amidala, Padme (Handmaiden Disguise), Captain Panaka, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Anakin, R2-D2, R2-R3, R2-B1, Naboo Royal Guard (sleek helmet). Banking Clan Frigate: Battle Droid (x2), Battle Droid Commander, Cad Bane, San Hill, Anakin Skywalker, Clone Trooper Denal. The Coronet: Dutchess Satine, Tal Merrik, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Redeye, Mixer, Super Battle Droid (x2). Comes with a buildable Assassin Probe. The Invisible Hand: General Grievous, Neimoidian Captain (Lushros Dofine), Magna Guard (x2), Battle Droid Commander, Pilot Battle Droid, Chancellor Palpatine, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Count Dooku. Republic Assault Ship (Acclamator): TCW version with red highlights and open circle fleet insignia. Admiral Yularen, Clone Trooper (x2), Clone Naval Officer, Captain Rex, Anakin Skywalker. Republic Y-Wing Bomber: Matchstick, Broadside, Anakin Skywalker, Astromech Droid. Separatist Shuttle: Pilot Battle Droid, Po Nudo, Nute Gunray, Security Battle Droid (x2). Comes with a crab droid side-build. Rebel Transport: GR-75 Transport. Toryn Farr, General Rieekan, Hoth Rebel Trooper (x3), Hoth Rebel Ground Crew. Home One: Admiral Ackbar, Mon Calamari (x2), General Madine, Rebel Commando (x2), Dorovio Bold. Hammerhead Corvette: Rebel Captain (dressed like Antilles), Rebel Fleet Trooper (x2), Rebel Trooper (x2, Phoenix Cell). Nebulon-B: Sized similar to the Tantive IV. Luke, Leia, 2-1B, Lando, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO. Dornean Gunship: Lieutenant Blount, Rebel Commando (x2 humans), Rebel Commando (Ishi Tib). B-Wing Starfighter: Horton Salm (2014 B-Wing Pilot), B-Wing Pilot (Human), Quarren Rebel Commando. V-19 Starfighter: Clone Pilot Hawk, Clone Pilot, Clone Mechanic. TIE Defender: Vult Skerris, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Stormtrooper (x2) Hopefully, we see some of these in the future, however unlikely.
  25. Or Disney's . As for the rumored UCS, any chance it's the long-awaiting A-Wing?
