it's actually going once i've seen the new PF trains, so who knows. although the track isn't 100% complete you can make a extended circle with the switch tracks. (and between the switches 4 straight pieces per track.) and it works great, just a few laps and the train runs smoothly... incredible how a 198x set can keep its cool.. but unfortunately it cant be used with the 9V, RC or PF sets, so i'm afraid it has to go... let's just say i have bigger plans for my city than just 12V i'll post a update on the trains in a few days..

jeah, i'm aiming for a london-liek look with fences, non-electric traffic lights, and more. i may even look into LED lighting for the town once it's complete in a non-electric matter. but i'm really waiting for the PF trains to make a insane train layout around my city. is it confirmed that you can use the plastic RC rails with the new system?

A some people have read i'm cutting my lego collection so that a small town remains, I have left a view structures on it, but a real town isn't complete when it isn't really filled up. First up is my overview: This is the complete city, i notice ther isn't really much room for a big city. So i kept the trains that i have in a box. As you can see the city isn't really filled up and alive. The fire house I love this set, its really versatile and with three verhicles, who needs multiple fire houses in your town. i also love the sliding doors, they really add to the structure. Hospital Every town should have one! it one of the older hospitals, but i think it looks great in combination with the fire house. Vacation house This is a smaller structure that i haven't seen very often. it's a vacation house and hase a boat, some movable house and a fun-car. The inside i pretty detailed with a kitchen and coffee machine. Circuit Actually i should make a stand-alone circuit of this maybe with a real racing mod so you could actually race the cars. But since it's wishful thinking only i have put it in the center of my town. Pizzaria I saw the last review of this nifty little set. hope they make more of these as they seem perfect to fit in a larger town as central buildings. I think the pizza delivery car is great too with the classic back door. Space port A true classic, a little too much for my style but since it's such a bad-megablocks building i'm keeping it for nostalgia reasons. Freight train One of the nicest trains of the 12V era. Although it's gonna be for sale once the PF trains are what i'm expecting them to be. it's on a 'shelf' now waiting for inclusion in my town. the rest I've got the 4559 passenger train which i absolutely love. but it's boxed up along with the 12V tracks from the freight train. Really a sad image seeing all the rails boxed up... rails should be on the floor, trains should be running! FREE THE TRAINS! Another sad sight is the following, seeing that i'm cutting down on lego pieces i've decided that i'm going to sell a lot of pieces on Bricklink. i'm going to take out the pieces and finish my town, and later i'll be selling the rest... a good thing is that all the funds from the old legoes will be put into new lego! and therefore a much better, living and attractive city. And that's my lego city. a quiet and humble place on earth.

WRONG! i also read we can use the current lego transformer to charge-up our trains. i guess that you just can buy a charging station (like the train-washers they use on real-life train-tracks) where you can 'dock' your train for charging. but then again if this new setup is supposed to be so good i wonder how they are powering the train signs, car-crossings, lights, and more. i was actually hoping for a system similar to the 12V series, with a expandable control panel. anyway no city can do without a monorail, maybe they can release something like the 6339 again

got this one as well, not much surprises in such a small set, but the fast-food pizza idea is pretty cool. as far as i know only the small mcdonalds promo and this set are related to food/restaurant thing (until the cafe corner that is) But since i have a classic lego city i can't miss this set.

never did it, but i would like to participate, how many time do you have for it? seeing that loads of people do have a full-time job or something like that. eitherway i'm very interested in doing so, making a great contibution to eurobricks. i've got my three sets already built-up, but i can buy a new smaller set any time. i wanted a RC train to try anyway :) -
I have that 6339 set... a bit dissappointing, but it looks great in a city layout. There are currently no sets that i have on my wishlist that are already out there. Maybe a complex 12V train layout, but with the 2009 trains all our problems will be solved right? :)

i'm seeing this PF space racer/harvester buggy for the first time... maybe it's time to look for some videoclips of it. if it's really as good as said here it may be worth the effort of getting all the PF parts and the set...

really nice to see someone take the design, alter it, and come out with a near-replica of the real deal. Don't really like the colors, but as for looks it appeared as if it was just in other colors. I'm still building a white one! with different styles... hell maybe i'll make more of them and give them a cutom theme... or i can just change themes. you know there are more electrical companies than vestas :)

raffle me i got a thing for polybags

think it will be around 60 euro's seeing that the ferris wheel seems of roughly the same value. good price for a amazing set. now a lot of 32*32 baseplates and some of the new city farms and we have a typically dutch scene..
-
for anyone that wants to see te real thing, follow the topic at lowlug. a user named legopaul has it already set up and running. Won't be long before more of these start to pop up. about the green burps, also from lego paul, check his model, he has the green BURPS ordere from lego. i know that green LURPS are more widely available, but it seems they are pretty easy to order through lego direct.

http://84.245.27.223/movies/MOV01608.MPG first movie, not made by me. it's a post from our dutch friends at lowlug. i'm very pleased to see the results like that.

i'll keep track of the costs of my own vestas set. but i'm pretty sure i'm keeping below that price only one piece will be different from the original set. but actually i con't care. because the replacement piece looks better than the original, AND i'll probably be able to order the original piece later on, I can do the stickering by myself too. maybe i'll put the stickerset online if i completed it. can't be too hard... just take a sticker sheet, print your favorite stickers, cut / paste them onto your model, done! but i like the vestas setup so i probably won't change it, or order those other colored pieces as an optional extra.
-
got one right here... it's not that great of a set anyways... I got that amazing older firehouse with the sliding door too... I'll see if i can make some pictures of my city in a few weeks (got a lot of lego's to sort out, and put together, including this launch set.) I want a monorail, preferrably a new city monorail like they used to have. those things are way cool! and ofcourse the vestas set, but that one is already half-way built
-
you can order the green BURPS from lego. there seems to be a bellville (ofr other girlie set) that has green BURPS. so impossible it is not (quoted from another green colored figure :D)
-
By then i'll have my own, It's really the sport of puzzling all the pieces together from various sources. But i'll manage to complete the thing before they release it (and then it will probably end up in chinese food boxes next to the creator ferris wheel and the insanely cool Technic bulldozer :)) edit: until i've got room to spare for the sets. :D
-
New post, i finally can see the scale of this amazing set. Thus i made a picture of the first five segments of the tower. the spinnig point of the blades will actually be twice that height. For good measure i went through my old parts an built the blueprint of the house. which also is a lot better than expected. I'll keep posting pictures as i aquire more and more parts.
-
Does anyone have a complete version already? (MOCced or original) So far we haven't seen any pictures of the completed model, there is a brickshelf folder which only has the car and front building, but not the mill itself.
-
me being a graphics designer can manufactuer my own vestas stickering! measure, design, place on your LEGO... and we're done! what else would i need dark blue pieces for... or i can make a NUON (our energy supplier) windmill. even better :)

We want the amazing 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant!
Crazydance replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
Great to see almost 80 signs in one weekend. Once we'll get to approx 150 or 200 it's worth sending the petition over to TLG for the release of this great set. Seeing that all the parts except the stickering can be collected through bricklink or lego direct i'm not surprised of we don't make it to that number. But we'll see, i'm buiding one with parts ordere from BL and LEGO direct. I'll manufacture a sticker-sheet in vector format if anyone wants it. can someone tell me the hex color code or RGB values for the dark blue pieces? -
made a checklist from the parts, order up! first up is ordering those hard to get pieces from bricklink or lego direct (45410 and 45411) i'm building the thing without PF first, if the model is complete i'll add the PF to it :) cause those darn PF elements willt eat up 35% of the total costs.

Anyone wanna help with an online petition for this? I can make a quick fix for it in PHP. maybe send that petition to other forums on the net. Seeing they want the set just as bad as us :)
