  1. TLG just can't get EVERYBODY happy. I think this set is a really good attempt at a complex helicopter with enough functions to blow EVERY model TLG made in the history of technic right out of the water. I haven't seen this beast hands-on but merely forming my opinion on youtube / images, but it just looks like sheer quality. unlike other verhicular sets out at this time. It's fun to build and play with it. And has enough cool parts to keep older builders happy. If you like air-based technic models you should definately get it. If you like technic in general, you should get it too. I just cannot believe this set wouldn't get you the technical satisfaction it promises. I'm just going to get it when my finances allow me to, but it's right on the top of my ligt, with the new crawler and the logging truck right behind it.
  2. The ONLY public transport fitted for space themed LEGO is a monorail, nuff said! This one is like a 2012 train in a kinda older city. It just works for the city theme. I've looked at the santa fe train for the person who commented on me but that is a nice train too, HOWEVER it fit's better in a western-type city. Which is good if you own some legoredo sets and all! But I'll have to agree that that train also looks nice on the 9V track.
  3. I don't know any people that would go out with a bulldozer in the middle of the night, but it's a simple addition which makes your 8275 just look nicer. You could even do two of those to force those red back-lights as well I guess. I'm happy that people share my thought on where it should be in top-x lists; Right on the top where it belongs, closely followed by the crawler, and with the 8043 as third with all it's technical 'flaws'. Which technic models are RC anyway? - 8275 - 8043 - 2012 Crawler Am I missing one?
  4. I probably spend enough on lego to join a go-kart racing team. So I would probably do that.
  5. Making a Review for EB :)

  6. Nuff said... Forget that stuff on wheels, You need to get your hands on one of those control centers. Preferably the number two (the black set)
  7. Well I would go with the Air-tech set also. It's a set which really created a buzz with it's air-tank and compressor which made the pneumatics actually worth something. The unimog does virtually the same thing now but we're not comparing that one now. The logging truck looks more like 2012 though. It has more eye-candy, which the older sets just lack IMHO. (This last remark could get a flamewar going but I'll stick to it till I get banned!) I'm such a fan of the studless building when it comes to how the result looks, and how smart the 'tech' is built in. BUT! When you let these two models go head to head the air-tech wins it hands-down purely for the compressor and how fun it is to play with that.
  8. Anything electrical en technically advanced will do. But for now I'll go with my first big set after my dark ages. The 8275 Bulldozer! It's kinda heavy, is packed with PF parts and has wireless control. Nuff said.
  9. Studless body, and I would DEFINATELY buy this off CUUSOO.. On the other hand if someone's willing to make instructions for this one? I have all the parts except three or so, not minding ordering those through the known channels :p
  10. Manual please! I prefer this speed over the regular LEGO cars any day!
  11. I have this one as well and I think it's a great addition to any lego city. The colors are a bit strange but once you see this baby on the track it's one of the nicest looking 9V passenger trains out there. (It's NOT a cargo train!) Only surpassed by the metroliner. And it fits nicely with other city sets from that time.
  12. I have one here, with the right batteries it could lift itself off the tracks! It's pretty insane and showed off the raw power of the PF elements in there. It's one of the best PF models I've seen out there. Closely followed by the 4*4 crawler. The dozer actually feels like a casing for all the PF elements, there's THAT much electronics in there. Seeing that you allready have 4 motors, 2 IR recievers and a transmitter it's a lot of bang for your buck. Comparing it to newer models the only model that feels worth the money PF-wise is the new crawler, you'll get different motors and the IR system. The 8043 has 4 (!!!) m motors but you still have one type of motor. When you start with PF I should recommend investing money in a set that has IR elements and different motor types. Talking about motors there aren't many sets using the XL motor. Is there any reason for that? (Info: Only three sets, 8275, the creator monster dino (2007) and the crane truck (2009))
  13. Well, since 2h2012 is only three sets, this one will be bought as a bonus IF I manage to get the helicopter AND the crawler (The other two). I like the size of this small set, and I haven't got any lime or even green models yet, so it'll be a welcome addition to my collection. I'm not planning to get every release wave but this one actually brought forth two interesting models that I really like. I'll probably end up paying the full 300 euro's for the three sets, but it'll be worth it!
  14. Google for someone that's builing a PF fire truck with a pump. His idea was compact and fun to watch! Edit:
  15. Ours run in sheer terror for my 8275 dozer :p Those wireless models scare the sh*t out of 'em xD
  16. I can relate to the guy earlier saying they stop making negative comments AFTER you show them some of your flagship models. Some of my friends start laughing when they see the collection but the lauging stops when I power up the 8275... Then they go all twitchy and almost kill me for the remote.
  17. Someone was building one of the most awesome fire-trucks I've ever seen. Some none-conventional use of those compressor pumps but he did manage to get water flowing through the Pneumatics. That's on top of the wish-list. Verhicles - Fire truck with working motors (water pumps, PF drive/steering) - Submarine (There used to be a model of that one, but redo it, but better - Walkers.. Maybe a spider of scorpion or something non-verhicle - Rollercoaster (Has been done multiple times before, so why not) - A Transformer! - Other carnival rides like a 'wellenflug' - PF Control center, preferably without those pesky battery-packs.
  18. Being from 1985 I have enough experience with both worlds. However I prefer the new building methods, just because I believe the technology you can use has evolved just as much. I've built the second control center and various smaller models but i'm comparing this to the 8275 bulldozer, and the small heli and backhoe available today. The control center was nice but the backhoe has some really smart techniques that convinced me that the new building techniques are just better. Now only they have to get the power functions expanded as they are scattered throughout the lego universe. They should take the tech in the train area head-on! And then a Technic control center for our PF element. More importantly the HAVE get get off the batteries in the models themselves.
  19. I wonder how much pressure you can create when you let THAT run like crazy! Is this even possible? I mean the compressor pumps do have a maximum they can be pulled out, seems liky you're hugging the limit there. It would be nice if this works. With proper gearing you can produce some serious pressure.
  20. What happens if you choose to use an up-gearing instead of two of the same gears. Do you have more water pressure then or do you experience a decrease? It should be worth a shot because a lot of fire trucks have the hose on top of the verhicle. Thus more distance is needed for the water to travel to a actual fire. Do you know the distance that the water will travel once the model is done? BUT after seeing the video I think this is something TLC could take in consideration for a new flagship model. It only needs 1 new part (the water tank), and you're done! I wouldn't mind chasing after the cats with this bad boy! xD Thinking about the water tank and electronics safety: You could use a cap with a rubber band. Children's bottles do this all the time. Same goes for safeguarding your hoses. Rubber band around it and making sure it doesn't leak too much. I also think the cap should have three holes. One for the actual spraying hose, one to fill it, and one air-outlet, because pressure builds when you want to fill it, so that needs to go somewhere. All three should have pneumatic hoses in them so that you don't have to open up the truck to fill it. But then again you need to know how much water is in there :p
  21. Is it possible to swith the first two gears which power the driving? It's going a tad to slow for my taste. If it's possible to make it run faster this one will actually be a nice addittion to the collection.
  22. Somehow the model seems slightly off compared to the sleek front of the 8068 chopper above. Can you compare the model to this one? Helicopters that lego makes are cool most of the time. This function-packed version is no difference. Let's say we can choose between the 4x4 crawler and the chopper... First-world problems I tell you!
  23. Well maybe you can try to build the mini three-wheeler first just to check if your theory is spot-on. I'm guessing you'll be done with that pretty fast ans you'll have a funny car at the same time.
  24. The model is power functions ready right? Please let us know what the normal addition of the motor does, and what you have personally done if you decide to do the PF functions your own way. I'm very interested in this model because of all the functions, but i'm not getting it when it's not possible to make the blades rotate on PF motors. If you can't do that you might as well get the crawler.
  25. I have seen this construction more or less on a small RC tri-wheeler. But indeed if one of the motors is slightly slower or reacts slower than the other it may cause a problem. You can correct this with a differential which can actually catch the difference between the two motors. Another question. WHY do you need this construction specifically? You could use a L or XL motor with some gearin instead. However this might be a solution for making your RC car go fast. It it possible to use the M motors with two gears to make it move even faster? I don't have LDD here right now but I believe we should make a small powerful and fast base for RC cars.
