Ah I see them now.. The dog is so cute! In an angry way :D. Cant wait to see that coloured into Marge’s dog. The owl I’m not sure... it’s a tan colour with specked chest, and is winking. It doesn’t look like Errol to me at all, but will be a nice addition to HP in any case
-
What website are they leaked on? I can’t find them on Instagram
-
Maybe the owl is part of a new Lego book?
-
I’ll leave it to LEGO And see what they come up with, i could live with it actually as the car has 3 separate scenes in different places in the film (house rescue, journey to Hogwarts, rescue from the forest). If they change it’s build I’ll make one the ‘wild’ forest version by adding some leaves ? I could speculate the other option for a Privet drive set is an OotP version: bring the dementor attack to the Dursley front door, and maybe include the stag partunus again. The House build itself in any case should include features to facilitate playing out other movies: -cupboard under the stairs with a bed -letters falling out the fireplace -floating cake - removable bedroom window
-
If they plan do to a privet drive set then yes, no point having the 3 Dursley’s in CMF I’m A bit against it being CoS themed however, it’s too soon for me to have another flying car

Interesting, and good to hear! The Owl especially sounds like a HP item I’ll be very surprised if Lego makes a Dursley house with the main event being aunt Marge blowing up (how could that be accomplished?). I had speculated the 4 members would be in the CMF...
-
Shame about that :( I was hoping for something new in spring perhaps But I hope it means this this theme will be more of a slow-burn, long lasting nature... By my calculations there is enough source material I think for max 4 more years worth of sets without any major repeats of principle builds/set names... that is if they literally do EVERYTHING and plan it carefully in advance now (do a ‘castle module’ chamber of secrets set, a ‘castle module’ forbidden corridor playset, do a set of every wizard ‘household’ visited in the movies, construct a modular Hogsmead village and Diagon alley etc).

Quite an amazing build, it’s so large and dense with details, I like the garden and the red roof, lovely texturing!
-
I agree with the 3 figures which were essential, I was so disappointed that the theme ended after 2 waves :( I like your choices and would buy the whole set to complete my LotR collection!

[moc] First Task of the Triwizard Tournament
Bugbot20082 replied to Black Numenorean's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great model! The head of the dragon is very well done! -
Quite a good list :), but I would drop Quidditch Cedric for a new character such as Moaning Myrtle, since you have already included the other ‘girls bathroom’ figures. However I understand that the real purpose is to get the hufflepuff team outfit ;)

I’m a big fan of those movie and these MOC’s are amazing! I love the style and the details and use of parts :D

This is why I thaught about sticking some of the figures in with the galleon... It’s a potentially efficient solution to both problems: 2nd task: 4 minifigures rescuing another 4 minifigures from more minifigure antagonists in an uninteresting environment. With only the minority antagonist(s) being truly unique. Also the build itself would be very simailar to the DC set 76085 which remained on shelves in the U.K. for ages (it’s boring). And on the other end of the spectrum... Durmstrang Ship: a large, expensive, colourful, detailed and eye-catching build with only 3ish naturally associated figures. Seems to me it would be economical to overlap the two: Do a smallish ‘2nd task’ set like the original with Harry (flesh flippers), and Krum (shark head) with a merperson and the two sleepers. Then put everyone else in with the Ship: Cedric, Flur etc, even Crouch Sr who could be standing an a miniature spectator stand. It makes little sense narrative wise but makes sense to me for cost, figure distribution etc (sorry for the long essay) How would people respond if LEGO used the bubble helmet used by Sandy (Spongebob) for the bubble-head charm?

If series 2 has FB characters I also hope Nicholas Flamel is included, he has a small role but the connection to the original series makes the figure more desirable for me. (The stone should be the same classic gem as always) A young Newt in Hogwarts uniform is also a good choice! I don’t think Igor Karkov should be in the CMF however. I do want a modern update however I expect an updated Durmstrang Ship is likely in the pipeline. It would be the biggest GoF-specific set remaining to do, and could be as big as the Hogwarts express set if Lego wanted (pirate ships are popular). If I take 75958 as inspiration I would expect: Igor Karkov, Viktor Krum and Karkaroff's aide all in their ‘arrival’ clothes. Assuming Rita in the CMF Barty crouch Sr would be a sensible throw-in to complete the GoF cast. Being on the lake also opens the excuse to add some lake task figures too...

I’m glad you liked my list, and of course I like yours too ;) I am intrigued with your Harry variation; using the mandrake bulb in trans would make a very good potion bottle! The open stud also allows a gemstone (classic or heart) to add more detail/variations

Yes I know they have their differences, it is a stretch but in the simplified Lego style and scale they might get away with a generic enough shape. My other reason was I couldn’t think of a different version of Hermione worth putting into CMF: she has to be there so why not make it worth while with the new animal mould :) (FYI my imagined CMF series 3 version is her Deathly Hallows clothes with the Beedle story book)

Like others have said student accessory packs would be very popular. I think similar in style to Ninjago 40342 and Spider-Man 40343 for example. Ideally 4 sets, one for each house with a mix of different hair, faces and unisex torso prints which can be swapped around in any combination. Nigel Wolpert, Justin Finch-Fletchley and Pansy Parkinson among others could be easily made in this way, and then mixed up to create more random students! Accessories/ side builds would be easy: spell books, potions kits, food, candles, house plaques/banners etc

Fair comments, but I have my justifications: There are many mandrakes in the greenhouses, therefore duplicates are useful for MOC’s. Also remember when Lego included the same magic lamp twice in the first Disney series. Merperson and generic Death Eater are both ‘army builders’, enabling people to compliment box sets with more figures. Also including the merpsrson specifically means that it will have the budget for a new tail and ‘hair’ elements and better printing. The Death Eater is also in there as a true ‘villain’ to make up for the absence of another Voldemort, also it is cheap (no new parts).

Ok this is my prediction list, assuming a 3rd series afterwards to finish the theme... I prioritised essential new moulds (but not too many as to be within budget), and a fair balance of Male/female, young/old, overall diversity etc. 1 Harry Potter & HBP potions book 2 Ron Weasley (Quidditch keeper) 3 Hermione Granger & patronus otter* 4 Lucius Malfoy & cane 5 Rita Skeeter & green quill, notepad 6 Professor Sprout, Mandrake & pot 7 Professor Lockheart & pixi 8 Lee Jordon & microphone 9 Tonks & alternate hair 10 Griphook & key and lantern 11 Werewolf (Lupin) & Sirius dog 12 Merperson & trident 13 Draco Malfoy & ferret* 14 Death Eater (hooded) 15 Vernon Dursley, Letter & biscuit 16 Petunia Dursley, teacup, family portrait *same mould; different colours/printing (LEGO, if you are reading, feel free to copy any of my ideas ;))

I do often get carried away :D

I do expect if LEGO commits to this theme for another 2 years at least they can cover all the favourite characters mentioned by everyone so far :) I imagine some of the best multi/ miscellaneous character filled sets would be: ‘Ministry Battle’ (OotP members and Death eaters) ‘Battle of Hogwarts’ (Aberforth, Pius, a giant, moving statues) ‘Hogsmeade Christmas Village’ (Rosmerta, various leftover students) ‘Diagon Alley shops’ (mundungus, more students, the twins) ’Escape from Malfoy Mannor’ (Narcissa, snatchers etc) ’The Burrows’ (any and all Weasley family members) ...and future advent Calendars of course :D I feel tempted now to post my series 2/3 wish/prediction lists...
-
Quite interesting! Pomfrey was never in my personal lists for future CMF, I imagined her in another big castle set. If she is in the next CMF I would speculate her accessory is a white coloured bottle with printing; the Bone juice
-
I can see the appeal of having them as accessories to lake task figures, if Lego can pull it off fair play.. however I just checked and apparently they are typically 4 feet heigh, and House Elves are actually smaller
-
Sorry about that. I’m commenting from my phone and spell check the character names. When I copy in the corrected spelling from google it changes the font size for the rest of what I type :/

Worst unlikely character? Mr and Mrs Mason (CoS) Worst likely character: Fenrir Greyback
