  1. I was wondering this as well but I don't think I would have ever thought up "Elf-House". Most of the earlier sets were cute little buildings that sort of filled out the theme. I didn't start collecting these until 2019 so I missed that whole era of sets. My loss I guess but I would like another crack at those types of designs.
  2. Is it too early to begin speculation about this year's addition? The past two years have been a bit on the fantasy side (both are pretty easy to strip of their fantasy elements) so I am wondering if we'll get a traditional town piece this year or if the theme is beginning to go that route long term. What would be next? A large literal North Pole that Santa lives in?
  3. This is definitely a cool example of theme shifting. I was pretty sure we wouldn't see an expansion because the original theme, TLNM, was done but then they moved this into the Legacy line. It would make just as much sense to have a new modular in a couple of years directly in the the primary Ninjago theme or even as a Creator Expert set. Heck, even an IDEAS expansion is possible. As long as it makes money and doesn't directly conflict with other agreements I think there is a possibility of more.
  4. It is up on the US website now, too. Coming Soon on February 1, 2021. NINJAGO City Gardens
  5. When I saw the original leak last year I had difficulty explaining to my friends who aren't interested in LEGO what the news of a Ninjago City expansion, years after the movie theme had ended, was like as a big fan of that theme. I've been collecting pieces to eventually construct my own additional sections after seeing the massive BrickCon display but I really didn't have any kind of hope there would be a third section. If it sells well, and I think it will, maybe LEGO will keep the surprises coming.
  6. I've been waiting for leaked images of this set since it was first "rumored" and looking at the leaked images I finally realize why LEGO tries so hard to keep these things under wraps until they official reveal the sets. I can only imagine what a blurry and watermarked stained Ninajo City would look like and I have to think it would look like a big pile of garbage. Clashing colors, lack of detail, so many questions (what would the puffer fish look like?). The final set is one of the most amazing LEGO creations I've ever seen and I think Ninjago City Gardens (or Gardens of Ninjago City) will turn out much the same. Ninjago City and Ninjago City Docks are such great sets because of their consistency of theme and attention to detail. If you are looking for something more traditional I recommend checking out the Spring Lantern Festival they are releasing for this year's Chinese New Year set. It isn't nearly as tall as the other Ninjago City sets but would make a great addition to the theme with a little customization.
  7. The new Spring Lantern Festival set looks like it will be easy to integrate into a Ninjago City display with a couple of modifications. It is even set back a few studs to make matching the edge style easy. All you need to add is a few trans color elements and it will fit right in.
  8. This would be a dream come true for me. The Ninjago City collaborative display from BrickCon 2018 is amazing and I'd love my own version (slowly built over many years).
  9. The Lego Ninjago Movie series brought me out of my dark ages. There was just something I couldn't resist about those mechs and I've watched that movie with my kids dozens of times. I wish it had been more successful and spawned a sequel but I can still enjoy some of the coolest and most detailed sets I've ever seen. I'm really looking forward to the rumored expansion to Ninjago City!
  10. I think that depends on your definition of "confirmed". There has been no official announcement by LEGO of this set or even some kind of teaser. Several sources have claimed a large number of details regarding this set but I don't think I'll consider anything confirmed until I see the official release date.
  11. I don't think that has negatively impacted other long running themes like the Creator Modular buildings or the Winter Village.
  12. That's an interesting idea. If you look at the availability of the Temple of Airjitzu, Ninjago City, and Ninjago City Docks, there has been an extremely large Ninjago set available for most of the last 5 years. Reading through the instruction booklet for the Ninjago City sets you can tell that there are some designers that are extremely passionate about the theme.
  13. This rumor sounds too good to be true. A new modular to a theme that doesn't even show up on the LEGO shop page? Is the source of the rumor, promobricks, typically reliable with this kind of thing?
  14. Another couple of ideas, or I suppose additions to my wish list, would be a doctor's office (with the living space upstairs), or like Karalora said, a village hotel.
  15. Its about time this thread gets activity again! I think, after the whimsy of the Gingerbread House we are due for a more traditional set. That would follow the model of Santa -> Toy Shop seen about 5 years ago. We know LEGO isn't opposed to updates (Toy Shop & Train) and after last year's cute but silly Gingerbread House, I'm hoping for a set like a Bakery, Post Office, or some kind of restaurant/diner.
  16. I'm looking forward to adding this to my village but a little disappointed it only comes with 2.1 minifigs.
  17. I'm hoping that if it is a gingerbread house it won't be too difficult to take away the decorative candy all over the house to make a small winter cottage.
  18. Where did the original gingerbread house rumor originate?
  19. Does that kind of thing happen with Ideas? Does LEGO ever deny a set with that much support and then release something really similar?
  20. This statement got me thinking about what we've seen in the past and how it might compare to the rumored piece count. Looking at the series so far it would need to be a pretty detailed GB House to rack up that kind of piece count. Winter Village Toy Shop – 815 Pieces Winter Village Bakery – 687 Pieces Winter Village Post Office – 822 Pieces Winter Village Cottage – 1490 Pieces Winter Village Market – 1261 Pieces Santa’s Workshop – 883 Pieces Winter Toy Shop (re-issue) – 898 Pieces Winter Holiday Train – 734 Pieces Winter Village Station – 902 Pieces Winter Village Fire Station – 1166 Pieces
  21. That would be pretty cool as long as it wasn't done at the micro-scale.
  22. It would fit in well with the rest of the series if it had a look closer to this Sweet Shoppe posted a few years ago.
  23. This would be a great time for a Temple of Airjitzu legacy set to be released.
  24. Gotcha. Looking through this thread it seems like some years there are rumors much earlier than now but I can wait a couple more months.
  25. Thank you for sharing this design! I've been looking for ideas to add to the current Ninjago City modulars and this will fit in nicely.
