I think people also think it could be COS because of the “iconic underground scene” hint. To me (aside from the Inferi Cave and MOM battle) subjectively out of all of them COS reads as the most “iconic” but I still dont think we’re likely to get 2 COS (film) sets this wave. Just my opinion based on the hint about why other people might think that

The “Tom” hint seems to suggest Leaky Cauldron though... and wasnt there a hint suggesting Olivander’s?
-
The only way I’d pay $400 for no builds is if it included every single HP character ever, w multiple variants, the most obscure of figures, and all magical creatures were included

Sorry if I missed something in the discussion but... a bag of what?

Thank you LOL let me go change that

I was more referring to how in the set they dont have specified names. Looking back at the set description for Hagrid’s Hut they also just call Fudge “Minister of Magic” so I guess by the standards I previously set Fudge would be an unnamed character as well it is odd though how Lego chooses to give all the student characters even the very obscure ones (Hannah Abbot) names and yet didnt specify Fudge or McNair. Also, just a minor clarification, I don’t believe the Executioner from the films was specifically named to be McNair, bc in GoF when Voldemort is ripping masks off in the graveyard, the person he calls McNair looks nothing like the Executioner. Anyway, that also reminds me that the Death Eater they included in the graveyard set is an “unnamed” generic type of character. And back to my point, in the first movie, when we first see Diagon Alley, I definitely remember scenes if not dialogue among unnamed characters marveling at the shop windows. These characters possibly had names in the books, but for the sake of brevity in the movies were just given one or two lines. This is the reason, I dont think it would be too far off for LEGO to include some “shopping witches and wizards” and perhaps even give them names from the book.

Well we've had two un"named" minifigure characters (The Executioner and Trolley Witch), so I feel like that fact alone bodes well for the possibility of "generic wizard civilians" that may have had one or two lines in Diagon Alley scenes in the film. Side notes: 1 Does anyone have any idea when Expecto Patronum popped up at Walmart last year? (I know it was earlier than the US release but was it earlier than the European release as well?) 2 Has anyone seen the mini figure pack available for preorder online yet, or do we think it will just show up everywhere on June 1st (I am wondering whether to place an order today on LEGO.com or wait until the minifigure pack comes so I don't have to pay for shipping twice )

I think the figures I would be most looking forward to left in this wave would be OOTP Tonks (hopefully she either comes in CMF or a MoM themed set) and a second Ginny variant! Ginny has been shown such a cold shoulder during the revival of HP I’d love it if she either somehow came w the CMF (although kingnono’s clues dont seem to imply this) or the Diagon Alley D2C w Flourish & Blott’s! I’d love to have a CoS Ginny OT: pls play nice everyone. there’s enough conflict in the world right now as it is. LEGO is something that bonds us! not something that should make us angry at one another... Also FalconFan just confirmed in an IG Q&A that more sets are coming! Idk if this means in surplus to the D2C, CMF, unknown set, and Advent Calendar or what?

Forgive me if i’m wrong, but I’m almost positive I read somewhere on kingnono’s IG page that the 960 doesnt include any of the books

I honestly dont know where I would see the Hogwarts expansions going by this point. I feel like they’ve kind of reached a natural place where it would make sense to stop with the full Hogwarts expansion sets. This may be waaay premature, but making an educated guess based off of previous waves I forsee the sets for next year to look something like: 1. Hogsmeade D2C (including Shrieking Shack and Honeydukes) [echoing Diagon Alley’s D2C from this year] 2. Harry/ Voldemort Air Chase Including Hagrid’s Motorbike (Token vehicle-centric set for the wave) 3. A remake of Harry’s “death” scene in the Forbidden Forest (token Forbidden Forest set for the wave) & then any 2 out of these 5: Shell Cottage (full building), Malfoy manor (just a few small builds or a facade, not the full enclosed building), Godrick’s Hollow Battle w Bathilda Bagshot, Gringott’s cart chase (small build to accompany the Diagon Alley D2C), or Polyjuice Potion/ Invading the Ministry of Magic I think we would be VERY lucky if we got a set for: Fleur’s wedding at the Burrow, Attack at Xenophilius’s house, or a tent-related scene (these seem the most unlikely to me) With all of these options in mind, I dont forsee them adding to Hogwarts again anytime soon after AT. Sorry if I’m totally jumping the gun in terms of set predictions, I’m just trying to give some this-wave related insight and context on whether or not AT will be the final addition to Hogwarts (for awhile).

Forgive me if I’m an idiot, but how does being in the “top 10” get implied from “cannot change tires between”?
-
Well it was mentioned that the unknown set will be underground. Based off that hint I can either see it being a small Chamber of Secrets set with Ginny, Tom Riddle, Harry and Basilisk. I didnt really think this would do well as a set costing less than $100 but after seeing ROR and Expecto Patronum I’m very impressed with how much LEGO is able to pack into a smaller set. Barring CoS I’d say MoM battle is another possibility, but is the Ministry technically underground? Also the Inferi cave battle is major wishful thinking on my part (I think thats my most coveted set idea for the entire reboot) but once again, does that cave count as underground?
-
Dont get me wrong, I’m super excited for Diagon alley (even though there’s little to no way I’ll be able to drop 400 on it anytime soon) but am i the only one who’s more excited about info/ pics for the last unknown set dropping?
-
It seems @Lego-Freak you are correct based on comments on the post. Fred and George apparently had those nicknames in the video. I dont get the tire changing reference either, but we already knew Fred and George were coming in the sets by now (or assumed)? So there doesnt seem to be much new info. I do wonder, now, if Günther is also a reference from Coldmirror though

Just checked the comments on the post, someone said “only Germans will understand”... does that narrow things down for anyone? Also, it just dawned on me. We all thought “Diagon Alley not coming in September” meant it was coming earlier. What if its not coming until LATER in the year though

Cant click that second link without creating an account but wow... the hardest riddle yet I think! If I remember correctly we still havent cracked all of the last one yet, have we? (The “Just a few names with G” one)

Maybe not this wave but next wave, Hagrid’s motorbike, the minecarts from Gringotts, and perhaps a remake of the Hogwarts Express if they decide to depict the Epilogue from DHII. This year, the only other vehicle I could have seen them making is the Hogwarts carriages being pulled by thestrals? (Oh or if they had decided to double back and create the Durmstrang ship, that would be another vehicle-centric set)
-
The Inferi say hello
-
Agreed, I just think its interesting how the number of magical creatures included wave by wave has gone down a bit. I think its similar to the vehicle ratio in the sets. First year we got the Hogwarts Express, the Flying Car, and Grindlewald’s carriage. Second year we got Knight Bus and Beauxbatons Carriage. This year we only got a repeat, the Flying car. I hope they get back to including more vehicles in future waves. Oh also, I forgot that another “creature” set we’re getting this wave is the Hedwig model, which may have been why they felt they didnt have to focus on creatures as much in these sets?
-
Does anyone else think the lack of Magical creatures we get this wave is a bit odd? In the first year we got the Basilisk (althought poorly formed), Fawkes (although also inadequate), and Aragog, which were some big ones. In the second year sets were released we got the stag patronus, the Hunagarian Horntail, Buckbeak, and the winged horses from the carriage set. (We also get dementors in the first and second years of sets, although I’m not sure how much those count as a magical creature). This year we just get two patronuses (which barely count as a magical creature in my opinion and are more of a function of a spell) and mandrakes (which has it even been confirmed that they are printed in the AT set?). I guess Grawp is technically a giant, oh and I almost forgot about the centaurs. But this year still feels a bit light on magical creatures Idk if anyone else feels this way (I’m also only counting sets not minifig series, in which case in the first minifig series we received a mandrake and Nagini who is technically a magical creature [being an enchanted snake] and this minifig series we know we will be getting Griphook and an updated version of Fawkes, and an updated version of a mandrake. I also dont count the owls in the sets as magical creatures for obvious reasons). I am hoping we at least see the Pygmy Puffs in the Diagon Alley set in some form, as well as other magical creatures this wave!

Hmmm maybe... ill have to take a look back through the thread. I remembered it being around 4100 pieces though
-
I couldve sworn someone posted a piece count somewhere earlier in the thread (inb4 ten diff ppl jump down my throat telling me I’m wrong)
-
-
Not sure, I was wondering the same thing! Still don’t know if I want to order through another site though (in case shipping will end up being quicker). Does anyone know of any retailers specifically who tend to mail the sets early by mistake? Then again, I also might wait to buy any sets until GWP announcement...

Thank you, I’m going to choose to move past it though for the sake of the thread’s continuity
