  1. Lack of funds manages my addiction. I'd love to have the SPACESHIP and the CUUSOO BttF set, but no dice !
  2. Maybe it was you, but this picture was posted not long ago on reddit [ http://redd.it/25xfqg ]
  3. *links removed by staff* It absolutely kills me to post this, because I grew up on the first wave [first two sets posted were part of it] so I'd LOVE to buy them myself, but sadly, I can't afford them. If I posted this wrong, please understand that I couldn't post it in The Bazaar because I can't post new topics there, so I thought this was the next best thing. EDIT: the title got cut off, it went on to explain that I'll post my finds via a Dutch site here, because The Bazaar wouldn't let me. EDIT 2: if I could, I'd add some tags like Netherlands, Holland, Classic Space, etc. Sorry !
  4. The guy linked below will probably know ! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showuser=1550 [sorry, I forgot how to integrate a link into text !]
  5. The Netherlands could use a couple too, we have none !
  6. Who was that kid anyway? Does anybody know?
  7. Hi, Not sure if this has been posted before, but I'm an old AFOL, and grew up on the first wave of Classic Space sets, and JANGBRiCKS is reviewing a tonne of them ! Just select list view in the upper right, and scroll through all his vids to find the Classic Space revies. There are a lot, so it's not that difficult to scroll and find them. I'd make a playlist, but he's still putting them out, so for now, I'm not bothering with that just yet. I'm sure he'll make a playlist himself when he's done. He also reviews a lot of other old sets which you might be interested in [including old sets which use now-illegal building techniques]. Have fun going down memory lane ! EDIT: obviously, I am not Jang, nor involved with him and his channel. EDIT 2: I went and selected a few vids: [comparison of the three main first wave classic space ships, he has reviews of all three seperately too] [his current [as of 24th of April] classic space set collection, almost all of these sets have their separate reviews]
  8. My help, who comes a couple of hours once a week can't touch my LEGO. She's like a bull in a china shop when it comes to my LEGO !
  9. Not sure if this counts, but I once got a technic beam of the right size, but wrong colour. It was in this set.
  10. Completely paranoid. Every set I have, I build, will display for maybe a few days sometimes hours, then they get disassembled and put into either containers that can close tight, or in ziploc bags. I do the same with all my manuals. Then I put them in a closet which closes really well, so all will 'keep fresh' if you will. The reason for this is simple and stupid: I smoke.
  11. *bump* An organized bunch of LEGO enthusiasts via a forum can also manage to get together on IRC to chat directly with each other, I think. I know I've searched for active chat to talk in real time to other fans. I need about 10 people who will automatically log in to the channel, to get the channel going. The rest will come over time, because I think lots of us have, at one point or another, searched for a [/quote] about LEGO and/or with at least LEGO fans.
  12. Hello fellow EB'ers, I'd love to chat with you guys live, so I opened an IRC channel named #eurobricks on Freenode.net Those of you who know how to use IRC/have a client: server: freenode.net, channel #eurobricks. You can also click here to use the webclient and check it out. For a long time I've wanted to chat with fellow AFOL's, but there does not seem to be a [central] place where you can do that, so I'm trying this. To the Admins/Mods: you can take it over from me very easily if you wish to do so. EDIT: Oh no, I can't edit the title, it seems to be too long. EDIT 2: Do not leave within a minute or even an hour, or a day, we're trying to build an IRC channel here. This JUST happened.
  13. I seem to recognize the test... Didn't OKcupid or so have something like this?
  14. Lately, the Monster Fighters boxes have grabbed my attention. They seem to cater to both kids and adults alike.
  15. As far as I know, normal glass will already filter UV-A, but not UV-B.
  16. Yes, there is. As it happens to be, I need a 100% UV blocker because of an autoimmune disease I have. This filter is quite expensive tho, depending on the amount of windows you want to cover. From what I know, there are loads of cheap filters that will filter out 99% of UV-B [the one you want], but I don't know how effective they are compared to the 100% ones. Do a Google search on UV[-B] filters, and see what you can come up with. More info: they are stickers that you have to apply yourself, or have somebody apply them for you.

  19. What about Kingdoms, Space Police, etc?
  20. Are you complaining about how the inner structure of some sets is built up with bricks of which you can't even see their colour? Like the above posters: there's a lot of reasons; one of the reasons to use them is to not make the build completely boring and for the builder to have some reference- and contrast points to distinguish where they are. They also might have a surplus of a certain brick in a certain colour. If you don't see it, what's the problem? If you are a MOC'cer, the amount of 'other coloured' bricks is very limited in sets like this, and always welcomed.
  21. Oh god, I'd love to see Mont Saint-Michel as a set. Maybe 10.000 to 25.000 [?] bricks.
  22. I also just got this set, I was also VERY lucky that it was still available, and at the price of 100 euro's, it's a steal. If I ever have the money, I'll buy a second one, it's just too good to pass up. Based my purchase partly on OP's review, so thanks ! From what I've seen, I might only 'mod' the two cows into not having studs on top, I really don't like those studs, they serve no purpose. Sorry for bumping this thread, but it's just a very cool set. :) EDIT: sorry for the late edit, but I think I need to clear the cow thing: Cow's don't have studs [or anything like it] on top, and since there's no bull to 'mount' them [if there was, it would have articulated legs to justify the studs on top of the cow's back] the studs are there for nothing.
  23. Phrea is just anti-phonetic for the word "free". I thought it was witty back in the last decade of the 20th century, and it stuck ever since. Most people pronounce it "Freya" tho, and I learned to live with it, and eventually even adapted that pronunciation myself.
  24. Yep ! You guys are either amazing or nuts ! Anybody else with a new pic?
  25. Hey LEGOMAN132, why is set 7805 a Creator set? I can't find an alternative build for that set.
