  1. How unexpected! And by ‘unexpected’ I mean - completely expected!
  2. Unlikely. It looks like the sooty alternate face actually is on the Harry in this set, and it’s only the torso that’s unaccounted for - and it was always a little odd that they’d paired the sooty face from CoS with the 1st year torso anyway.
  3. So the first year Harry torso really is a mystery now. Kinda glad I’m waiting on getting this right away because if he’s from a GWP I wouldn’t want to miss out. (Which begs the question, what would the GWP be? The parting brick wall?)
  4. Looks like we get 3 owls, a rat, and a spider at the least as far as animals go. Finally, they’re steering back towards the classics.
  5. I noticed that too! (I’d be bummed that they’re coming in a D2C, making it nearly impossible to put together full teams, but hopefully this ups the chances of a quidditch accessory pack). It’s actually neither of those. It’s the outfit she’s wearing in the Flourish & Blotts scene (unsurprisingly)
  6. Yeah, I wouldn’t expect the full reveal tomorrow, but a teaser is certainly possible
  7. For some reason the Harry Potter, Friends, and City advent calendars aren’t on the website yet, but the Star Wars one is and it has a September 1st release date listed, so I can’t imagine why the others wouldn’t as well. This seems to be supported by a couple people finding them in stores already. Not sure about the brickheadz though.
  8. #legoleaks on Instagram I think it’s probably at least marginally cheaper to do one double sided head than two single sided heads. I’m just happy they get custom faces instead of recycled ones - the bindi is a great touch.
  9. Confirmation that people have been finding the Advent Calendar in the wild has shown up on Instagram. Full group shot of all the minifigures and front and back close ups of Parvati, Padma, and Cho. The twin are sharing a double sided head and all the torsos have back prints. Can’t wait to add them to the Yule Ball scene.
  10. Technically I think all the shops will have multiple stories, as in multiple rows of windows. Whether any of them (including WWW) have multiple floors that minifigures can stand on is another matter entirely. I honestly don’t think any store but WWW was shown to actually have a staircase the customers could access then second story with - and even that Lego might decide to skip over to save pieces.
  11. Hard to say if it will be signed but it looks like there are two Magical Me stickers the right size to be book covers in the leaked C sheet. And it would be so cool to get a copy of Beedle the Bard, as either a future CMF accessory or next year if they do a set based off the tent. MinaLima actually did illustrations for the stories that never made it into the movies, so there’d even be something cool to put inside.
  12. Like an accessory pack? Hard to say. I don’t think it would have quite the popularity of the student pack, but it might pull in some generic fantasy fans. They didn’t even have the guts to give us someone other than Harry and Draco for the Gryffindor and Slytherin in the student pack though, so I’m not optimistic about ever getting a pack with no named characters.
  13. My money’s on Ginny being in there too, potentially the Weasley patents as well. Personally, I’m a bit so-so on the theory of getting Rita Skeeter in Diagon Alley. On one hand, she never appeared there in the books or movies, the only reason people are putting her out there as a possibility is to have someone linked with the Daily Prophet offices in the set (which the photographer from the F&B book signing would count as). On the other hand, Rita has a very fun and colorful character design and doesn’t need any new molds, plus her quick quotes quill would be the perfect excuse to do that mold in new colors for Scribbulus. Not sure if we’ll get any ‘generic’ wizards either. They’re giving us Fortescue after all, who’s super obscure but still a specific character who’s important to one of the included shops. It wouldn’t surprise me if we got other characters like that, who could be called background characters but actually have specific identities that make them significant to the setting.
  14. It looks like they’re doing a blend of years. We know there’s going to be 1st year stuff (Ollivander’s, leaked Harry), a 2nd year scene (Magical Me covers and poster on the sticker sheet), and a building only present in 6th year (Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes), so I imagine they’ll go big with the minifigures to emulate the early look of the Alley (after all, you can always remove pedestrians to give it the more abandoned wartime look, but it’s hard to add pedestrians in a theme where casual clothes are so different from real life).
  15. Yes, when people talk about the Forbidden corridor on here they’re usually referring to the entire thing. But the original 2001 Forbidden Corridor set was only Fluffy, the trap door, and the Devil’s Snare room - and I could definitely see Lego decoding to do that again. After all, the 2001 sets were broken up for a reason. The entire series of rooms is long, like, takes up a significant portion of the microscale Hogwarts base long. It would probably go over the current $100 record for regular sets in this theme. I genuinely think that the designers would be reluctant to put the whole thing in a single set just because of the proportions, so the idea that they’d only do the first section as a medium sized set to commemorate the anniversary seems plausible to me.
  16. No, we got the other Malfoy gang member, Goyle (or Crabe I don't remember which was one still around for DH2 It was Goyle, since Crabbe’s actor got arrested for cannabis charges and couldn’t be in the final movies. I suspect Goyle got thrown in to the 2011 Battle of Hogwarts set because the designers suspected he’d be taking over Crabbe’s role, but obviously they had no forewarning that Zabini would be in that scene, so there was no reason to include him. But who knows, he might make it into a set next year. I actually could see is getting the Forbidden Corridor next year, since it will be the 20th anniversary of the 1st movie (and by extension the original set). If they’re going to do any “off year” set like Privet Drive next year it should probably be that one, to capitalize on the nostalgia hype that will almost certainly be running rampant.
  17. Bill and Fleur’s wedding is the only time in DH when anyone really wears fancy dress though, and it really doesn’t need a $90-100 price point set since it’s held in a tent. And while the Astronomy Tower this year was based off the Slug Club party, the Burrow was clearly based off a battle with some plat features to go with it. So I think there’s a decent chance of two large DH2 sets next year (Gringotts and the battle of Hogwarts) and some smaller DH1 based sets (with the wedding tent being medium sized) like we got with HBP and OotP this year. Plus, while I think appealing to girls might have something to do with the focus on parties in the last two years, I think it’s also a move on lego’s part to make sure the highest price point sets are packed with exclusive characters and variations to make them extra desirable/give collectors as many characters and outfits as possible (as opposed to the same uniformed trio + Malfoy + Dumbledore + Snape we got in every single large set the last time the theme ran). If you look at it I’m from that point of view, the Battle of Hogwarts is great because all the significant characters are in casual clothes.
  18. I still think we’ll get a big Hogwarts set. The battle of Hogwarts is too integral to DH2 for the not to give it to us. I suspect they’ll find a way to give us the grand staircase aka where the Neville v. Nagini showdown happens in the movie.
  19. We’re getting Florian Fortescue, no character is too irrelevant.
  20. Maybe not in person, but I’d expect that by early next year event organizers will have started to work out the kinks of how to hold virtual conventions.
  21. I think we need to wait to make that judgment until we actually see the design in question. Kind of ridiculous to say “this looks awful” when nobody here knows what it looks like
  22. 4 Griphooks? Excellent. I was sure that was going to be one of the least common per box, and subsequently be hard to find because everyone will want the sword of Gryffindor. (Not saying that there won’t still be people snatching up all the swords but at least this way there are more to go around to start with)
  23. I mean, it doesn’t really look like a reindeer to me, but classic ‘Santa’s Reindeer’ are often depicted looking more like whitetail deer than actual reindeer anyway. And given when it’s leaking you’re probably on to something with the winter village idea. Wonder if we’ll ever see any normal otters or hares.
  24. I mean, if the designers slapped down everyone spouting random information claiming its leaks then they would practically be saying ‘this is true’ whenever they didn’t call someone out. I suspect the fake tile piece was a special case because A) it’s a picture of an physical piece that someone is claiming came from a set, and one that’s surfaced multiple times before. And B) it’s actually based off a piece of fan art rather than official art for the movies. If a large number of people actually started thinking it was real, Lego could’ve caught some heat for using a fan made design without the original artist’s permission, not to mention WB wouldn’t be particularly happy either.
  25. Nobody knew what the Hogwarts Express was, but we did know that there was a second store exclusive set coming alongside the Quidditch one. There was actually some rumors going around that it was the knight bus at one point. Just like last year - we knew there was a $20 and a $50 set coming in August, not a single hint it was the Beauxbatons Carriage, but we know the set numbers and prices. So yeah, we’ve never had any Harry Potter sets pop up out of absolutely nowhere before.
