The big reveal is just the Ideas set – which apparently includes 6 minifigs itself. But the cmf still comes out in September. News of two large Space branded Icons sets (Artemis 1 and Milky Way) set to release in mid May has also dropped, so I don’t think there’s any doubt the Spave cmf is still coming out then.

I think that’s a significant possibility here. A lot of smaller animals could easily fly under the radar – especially if they’re not a new mold like parrots or snakes.

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Accio Lego replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nah, there are a decent number of new places and things that the longer format of a tv show could allow us to finally see. Peeves, Binns and the History of Magic Classroom, the Kitchens, St. Mungos, the portable swamp, blast ended skrewts and other Care of Magical Creatures lessons – let’s not pretend that there’s not a significant number of us who wouldn’t go wild if Professor Grubly-Plank’s unicorn lesson made it to screens and there was finally a chance of getting that elusive creature. -

At least we have movie canon on our side – this set is based off a very specific scene and Fudge isn’t present at the arrival of Beuxbatons and Drumstrang, while Crouch Sr. is. -

Earlier sources were already saying Crouch in the Triwizard Arrival set, so I’m pretty optimistic on that one at least. Plus, the two characters dress pretty similarly so it’s an easy to understand mistake – like Yaxley being confused for Lucius when the Ministry set came out. Fudge isn’t even in the arrival scene, so it wouldn’t make sense to include him anyway. I’m also pretty optimistic about getting a new professor in the Great Hall, because even the article feels the need to say it’s “probably” Sinestra – that’s pretty noncommittal, and might just be someone taking a guess at who a ‘female professor’ might be based on the last great hall set. The author of the article doesn’t commit at all on the matter of the ghosts’ identities, so I’ll hold out hope that that means they’re new characters since Nick would be fairly identifiable at this point, right? Fingers crossed -

Interesting descriptions, although I have a feeling some things are lost in translation. Kinda a bummer that the Mandrake apparently doesn’t have a sound brick - what’s the point of only doing it after the sound brick is introduced then? I'm also slightly peeved that we only see collectible portrait counts in the descriptions of the potions class and advent calendar – surely the Great Hall should have some as well? I’m hoping that’s just incomplete info since the Great Hall also doesn’t have a complete list of character names. With Flitwick in the advent calendar and 3 as yet unnamed students in the Great Hall, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll be seeing some version of the frog choir. Fingers crossed for the Bloody Baron and Fat Frair as our yet unnamed ghosts. It would be great to finally complete the set. -

Last year we got to see the advent calendar figs fairly early on. Fingers crossed that happens again, I’m eager to see what this year’s theme is. -

That makes sense. Just the other day some more details (mainly minifig lists) dropped for some of the 2HY Marvel sets - including the advent calendar. I’d expect all the other themes to follow. I think I’m most interested in the character lists for the two Hogwarts sets since we’ve already got one for Ollivander’s + Madam Malkin’s. -

For those who might still be debating getting the Sorting Hat: - It’s like Mjolnir in that there’s a secret compartment with the four founders’ artifacts - there’s a proper hinged panel at the back that gives direct access to the base of the sound brick so when it inevitably comes time to change the batteries you won’t need to disassemble anything. -

Grabbed the sets I wanted today and found the cutest little Easter egg when assembling the Owlery. When you’ve finished bag 1 and look down from above it looks like a stylized owl! It’s definitely intentional because the pearl gold studs that make up the eyes don’t serve any purpose in the final build. Looks like the designers really are having lots of fun with this new castle system. -

I’m wary about the whole new adaption thing, but I really want to finally see the house elf/SPEW plot finally adapted from the books - and during that plot line the trio visit the Hogwarts kitchens, a place the movies never showed and we have no chance of getting in lego form at this time. Not to mention characters like Winky, Ludo Bagman, and fashion disaster!Dobby from that subplot alone. If the show follows the Percy Jackson series’ lead and takes the opportunity to expand upon the original materials themes, it could be really interesting (I’m not optimistic, but it’s within the realm of possibility). -

Just saw news that the WB CEO says the new Harry Potter series is ‘aiming for’ a 2026 release date. So we’ve got a whole year more of movie sets before we could possibly see any show based merchandise. 2026 will also be the 25th anniversary of both the first movie and Harry Potter lego as a whole, so I think there’s a good chance that even when the show comes out it won’t completely take over the Lego line up right away. -
The exemplar games aren’t necessarily going to show all the included parts, but yes, it looks like it’s more of a cooperative building game than something that would have animals to represent each of the players. Animal parts aside, I’m interested in seeing more details - it looks like the gameplay could be pretty fun

Grimmauld Place: Going off the normal 6 minifigs - golden trio with their outfits from the Christmas scene, Sirius Black (either Christmas or final battle), Kreacher and Mrs. Weasley repeats. For builds - things like the kitchen table and other pieces of Grimmauld furniture in addition to the normal Christmas tree, I’d also expect a lamppost and snowman since the scene starts with an outside shot. The Burrow - 6 minifigs - Harry with new torso, bathrobe Ginny, Lupin, Bellatrix with Gringotts torso and skirt with new head, Tonks repeat, Greyback repeat For builds - plenty of Burrow furniture options, chairs, sofa, tables with food, the iconic clock. Add in a Christmas tree and presents along with some outdoor builds (marsh plants and frog, flames, etc.) and you’ve got plenty to work with. -
Oh I’m glad I’m not first one to say it. When I saw that the ‘small dog’ was with the Ranger character my thought was “I don’t know much about D&D, but aren’t wolves more common companions for rangers?” Could they be recoloring the shepherd puppy as a wolf pup?

Interesting, I suppose from what I know of D&D all their dragons have four legs instead of two. But that just makes it even more desirable. It will be interesting to see which ‘bird’ and ‘small dog’ make an appearance here. I think the terrier fits the context better than the French bulldog, chihuahua, or the dachshund, but we also have two puppy molds that fit the description as well. For the bird, we all think of the songbird as the generic bird, but just plain ‘bird’ also covers molds like the Falcon that hasn’t been seen since its introduction.

I made myself skip the Marvel series because I couldn’t justify the expense when the boxes meant there was no guarantee of getting the new animals I wanted, but now that the boxes are starting to have reliable codes…

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Accio Lego replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, I definitely wasn’t expecting a D&D series. Sure, it’s an obvious choice, especially with the Ideas set coming, but I kinda figured there’d be mini making companies foaming at the mouth at the thought of Lego doing an extensive series of officially licensed minifigs. I’m surprised the various contacts that must exist permitted it, I figured it would be blocked like Star Wars is. -
There’s also a red baby dragon - probably a recolor of the new Norbert mold

Gotta say, I really wasn’t expecting Wednesday to be Buffalo - the 10+ age rating is higher than Lego commonly goes, but still well under the actual show’s teen rating. But 76780 is definitely a buildable Thing and 76781 is probably the dorm room that has shown up in Ideas a couple times already, so I guess they’re skirting around the gorier parts of the show. The rumors of it being minidoll based is baffling though.
-
Yeah, but the target base for Disney Princesses is still little girls. In contrast, the Wicked stage play has always been more geared towards an older audience, and it looks like the movie will be as well.
-
While the sets will be based off the movie, there’s a pretty solid preexisting adult fanbase thanks to the stage play. There isn’t exactly a long list of character based Lego themes with an adult female target audience out there, but the Friends sitcom and BTS sets theoretically fall in that category and they’re all minifigure based. There’s also got to be at least one set featuring Elphaba flying on her broom, and while the Harry Potter theme has been doing that with minifigs for decades, I don’t think minidolls could pull it off with their fused legs.
-
Speaking of TLBM, I wonder if Lego will be able to reuse the flying monkey head mold from back then.

So apparently there’s going to be a new theme for the Wicked movie, and I literally could not care less except for that amazing hat. I want that hat for a Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade patron, but it’s probably going to be IP locked - very annoying.
