  1. I’m not familiar at all with Fortnite so I looked up a list of animals and was actually surprised how many already exist in Lego form. The only realistic ones I saw that we don’t already have molds for are boars and wolves, although of the two only the wolves exist in the Lego version of the game so far. Interestingly enough, crows are in the game and I’m now wondering if this is how we’ll get one of the new corvids in solid black.
  2. Yeah, gotta admit, while it’s a top tier dress and it’s cool that the double wide skirt is showing up in BAM, I’m really not sure what’s ‘Greek’ about it…
  3. BrickClicker has just dropped a bunch of new leaks, including BAM exclusives that are supposed to be coming July 1st. Looks like a mostly Olympics themed line up with an Olympic swimmer, Horse rider, Greek queen, and a French ‘Mine’ (presumably a typo from mime), along with a new Lego store employee uniform. Apparently the retriever mold in tan and the Edith recolor of the beanie with long hair mold will also be coming to BAM.
  4. Police is almost over represented in regular City sets though. The only way I could see a law enforcement character working is if it was something super specialized like a crime scene tech.
  5. I mean, a large battle (including giants) then proceeds to happen on it. Just because the three most iconic final fights happened in different places doesn’t change the fact that there was a lot going on there during the battle. Frankly, I’ve always thought we needed multiple sets to cover the Battle of Hogwarts. The fact that we got two last year and are still critically missing both Ron in his battle clothes and a new version of Narcissa is a pretty good demonstration on how you just need more sets to get all the major players in minifig form. It’s also worth noting that if Lego ends up doing a castle based Battle of Hogwarts set, the Neville v Voldemort confrontation, the Molly v Bellatrix duel, Neville slaying Nagini, and Harry’s final duel with Voldemort happen in the front courtyard, the Great Hall, Entrance staircase, and front courtyard again respectively. All those locations were just covered in the new system’s flagship set, so if you wanted to do a big final battle set in the same system, the most logical choice would be to do the viaduct bridge where McGonagall’s statue army engages the death eaters and where Harry breaks and tosses the Elder Wand after the battle. (And speaking of Harry destroying the Elder Wand, that’s the final scene of the entire franchise if you don’t count the epilogue, that’s pretty significant even if it isn’t a high action scene that you could make a set based on)
  6. It’s far more likely we’ll get him in this year’s Collectors Edition Burrow. I only included him on the list because we don’t have any sort of official character list for that set yet. Bill didn’t make the cut for the Gringotts D2C despite speculation, so I doubt he’d be included in a scaled back playset version.
  7. We still haven’t gotten Narcissa Malfoy or Errol since the reboot. Other notables would be: Rufus Scrimgeor Marge Dursley Millicent Bulstrode Tom the Barkeeper Professor Grubbly-Plank Charity Burbage Firenze Cormac McLaggen Alicia Spinet Katie Bell Bill Weasley There are others of course, but these ones tend to fall in to the same categories we got this year
  8. We don’t necessarily know that for sure. Yes, there’s a dotted outline showing this year's sets as part of a bigger display, but more than likely that’s a placeholder of sorts and only gives a vague idea of what the future castle sets might cover. The Clocktower is a visually pleasing set that plays a significant role in the third movie and has been done in both previous post-revival systems – there’s no no reason to assume it won’t be made in this new system eventually at this time.
  9. Trying to keep spoilers to a minimum since it just came out, but the teaser hook for at the end of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory shows that a character has lost an arm. They’ll definitely feature in the future of the show (season two is already slated for this fall) and Chaos Theory just got a whole wave of sets that didn’t even insist on shoehorning in movie characters like the Camp Cretaceous ones did (probably because Chaos Theory is the only new content the Jurassic franchise is currently producing), so I’m pretty sure we’ll see the character in future sets - the only question is if they’ll acquire a prosthetic before then (I think there’s a good chance they won’t because they just don’t have the resources to).
  10. That could be semi-interesting if one was intact and the rest all had different kinds of damage. It would be a way for us to get minifigure partial limbs - they’ve been really upping the inclusivity with prosthetics, but I don’t think they’ve done a Minifigure disabled that way without a prosthesis the way the Friends line has with that one new character yet (although a certain licensed theme might have the opportunity in their upcoming waves).
  11. Yes, but if they did then she never appeared on screen. That’s the point here - Madam Malkin isn’t recognizable to anybody who’s only seen the movies. And if Lego isn’t worried about that now then they definitely aren’t going to when the tv show eventually comes along and makes other book only characters more recognizable to casual fans.
  12. Yes, that is who I was getting at. There was some speculation when we first learned she’d be in the set that the minifig would be based off one of the extras at the flower witch’s stall (which is located right outside Malkin’s in the first movie) but the Minifigure we eventually got looks nothing like any of the extras, and instead the designers were apparently allowed to have complete creative discretion.
  13. Exactly. Personally I’m hoping we finally see characters like Binns, Peeves, Winky, Ludo Bagman, and Dennis Creevy finally get some representation. And characters like Rita Skeeter, Firenze, Millicent Bulstrode, Grubbly-Plank, the Fat Lady, etc. play significantly roles than the movies give them. Then there are characters like Tonks, who get decent representation in the movies, but still are heavily shortchanged. I think a lot of more casual fans don’t realize just how often it’s implied she changes her hair just for funnies. Or that her powers are actually useful for her job - in the books she disguised herself as an older woman to help escort Harry and co. for a trip on the Knight Bus. There are just so many fun visuals from the books that got cut from the movies due to time or money constraints (or just dubious production choices - Drumstrang and Beauxbatons are both coed in the books, and it continues to irk me that the movies low-key imply that the only way there’d be a female champion is if she came from an all girls school - Fleur canonically beat out multiple male classmates to become champion). Back to the original subject though - the Ollivander’s and Madam Malkin’s set just gave us a named character that never appeared in the movies and two unnamed extras that were included just because they look cool and flesh out the world (and the wheelchair wizard isn’t even based off a movie extra!). And the Great Hall includes Professor Vector, Terry Boot, Daphne Greengrass, and Leanne - most if not all of whom are never even mentioned by name in the movies. Which just goes to show that movies only fans are clearly already willing to roll with whatever minor characters appear in sets so long as they still get the main characters.
  14. Yeah, I definitely plan on picking up the red D&D tiny dragon. I’m also hoping we get either that or the little Ninjago dragon in blue, green, and brown so I can have my first task champions holding their dragon models.
  15. I think the issue with a groom minifig would be what makes it worth putting in a cmf? Lego has done plenty of tuxedo torsos over the years, so what could the designers do to make customers feel like they’re getting their money’s worth with him? Especially since the groom doesn’t carry an accessory like the bride typically does. The only way I could see it being worthwhile is if they did some new parts specifically for a wedding cake accessory, but even then it’s been so long since series 7 that it’s more likely we’d just see a remake of the bride.
  16. We’ll almost certainly get a new character in the Burrow – so far the only D2C not to feature multiple new characters is the Icons Collection (which was not a Minifigure compatible set and instead gave us 3 exclusive gold versions of existing characters) – but the new characters a far more likely to be Bill Weasley (who actually appears in the movies), and Charlie Weasley (who is mentioned multiple times in the movies and would complete the family). The ghoul from the attic, whose mentions in the books probably couldn’t even fill a single page all together and doesn’t rate a mention in the movies at all, is not going to be prioritized over actual family members. Especially since if you did the ghoul you’d also have to do the attic and use up valuable interior space that I’m sure the designers would rather devote to the bedrooms. If those Polish sites are right about the number of minifigs (which I’m dubious about since neither gives a full list of characters and it’s just the same number that was in the survey leak image) then it’s a matter of who the tenth character will be. In the survey image it’s clearly Hermione’s hair present, but we shouldn’t rule out it being switched to Harry. And if those leak sites are full of hot air (impossible to rule out at the moment) we could always get 11 characters with both Harry and Hermione (or for that matter, 9 characters with only the Weasleys).
  17. It’s a ghoul not a ghost. And I highly doubt it will get included since 1) it doesn’t even get mentioned in the movies like Ron’s older brothers do, and 2) it lives in the attic, and the designers almost certainly want to prioritize literally every other room in the house.
  18. If they stick to the time period suggested by the survey leak minifigs, there’s a good chance that the characters will be GoF based and Percy will be in professional wear.
  19. I seem to recall a couple of sets getting double points promos back in 2018 when they started the reboot, but nothing stands out in my memory since then. It would be nice if we could get a Harry Potter double points promo for back to Hogwarts day like Star Wars gets for May the Fourth though.
  20. If you look at the survey leak picture it’s pretty easy to see eight redheads plus a minifig with Hermione hair on the ground, and if you look closely you can see a shorter redhead with the hair typically used for Ginny on the upper balcony. That can’t be what they were going for in the preliminary image - Hermione wasn’t in that scene. She doesn’t even visit the Burrow until GoF. Remember everyone, this was just a survey leak. It’s so not-set-in-stone that all the characters are represented by blank white minifigs. The final set could have Harry replacing Hermione, or Harry added for 11 minifigs total, or Hermione removed for just the 9 Weasleys. We won’t know anything until either reliable leakers get ahold of more detailed information or pictures drop of the actual set. Until then, we just have to reassure ourselves with the fact that the designers clearly want to give us the full Weasley family, so we have decent odds of getting Bill and Charlie finally.
  21. Technically the big D2Cs have almost always released at the beginning of September since the reboot - they just finally thought to market it as back to Hogwarts day last year. The gwps haven’t always coincided with release days though, so it’s nice they seem to be sticking with that now.
  22. The polybag typically gets bundled in as a lower price point gwp whenever the actual 40XXX gwp promo is run - although sometimes that’s only in store and not online. The leaks say that this year’s Borgin & Burke’s promo will start September first so I imagine anyone as yet unable to find the Draco polybag will be able to snag it then. If memory serves, polybag thresholds are usually pretty low (below the price of this year’s advent calendar for instance) so anyone wanting to snag it for free should be able to do it pretty easily.
  23. Personally, I’d prefer a revisit of the Magical Menagerie to be at the playset scale seen with last year’s WWW and this year’s Malkin’s+Ollivander’s. The multiple custom WWW products from last year and the new multi-wand pack in two colors this year show they’re willing to give these sets the budget to actually feel properly stocked even if the architecture is lower than D2C standards. With WWW being HBP based and this year’s set being based on SS, I can easily see the next couple of years being, say, a CoS Flourish & Blott’s+Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor and a PoA Magical Menagerie+Quality Quidditch Supplies (featuring the Firebolt).
  24. Presumably it will include the Harry head with the alternate sooty+broken glasses face that’s so far been exclusive to the Diagon Alley D2C. It will probably mostly feature the Floo fireplace with whatever new play feature they’ve devised for it, but with any luck there will be enough leftover pieces to do a display of Borgin & Burke’s merchandise. It sounds interesting but I am a little bummed that there’s a high chance we won’t see and collectible portraits in the gwp since the main Diagon set for this summer doesn’t include them. On the bright side, this does support the subtle clues in the survey leak that suggest the Burrow won’t be CoS based. The fact that Hermione’s there at all indicated it had to be a later movie because she only visited the Burrow at the beginning of the 4th, 6th, and 7th movies, but a rare CoS Harry variant being in the gwp - which wouldn’t be exciting at all if he ended up being in this year’s D2C as well - makes the argument for a later year even stronger. Personally, my bet is on a GoF based minifig line up. There’s enough redheads in that survey image to suggest we’re getting ALL the Weasleys, and while they never all appear in one place in the movies, we do in the GoF book. Add in that Hermione and one of the redheads having mid legs (only used for 3rd and 4th years) and the fact that Percy becomes estranged from his family starting in OotP, and putting a book spin on the GoF scene is Lego’s strongest option.
  25. Lego wouldn’t even have to work completely from scratch. Hogwarts Mystery has a pretty solid design for Charlie already - the hair on his adult model matches up pretty closely with the piece used for young Ron, so no need for a new mold or recolor. And he even wears a dragon head shaped pendant, filling the same roll as Madam Malkin’s tape measure and identifying him for anyone not familiar with that part of the extended Wizarding World.
