  1. And here I am waiting on Poland and Denmark to deliver pieces from LEGO direct. :) Congrats!!!! Pictures??
  2. Okay friends, I have bought all the pieces and hopefully there are no issues with missing parts in the orders or mistakes on my part. Thankfully some of the rare parts were available on LEGO's "Bricks and Pieces" and "Pick a Brick" services, the 50x "bombs" for example. I had about 18% of the pieces on hand (probably more but decided my time and body were not up to the task vs a few more dollars spent in stores! My collection is not sorted like a Bricklink's store would be.). I spent about $200 through these two LEGO services for about 25% of the parts. BrickHunter extension was a huge timesaver as it built the carts for me (but do not skip manual verification!). I also had the 75188 bomber which is about 12% of the pieces. ~45% of the parts needed to be bought on Bricklink. My advice is to make full use of the RED substitutions. Anything in red except for the few exterior pieces should be substituted out with pieces from you collection. As I was finalizing my Bricklink orders I found that the high qty of certain red pieces was causing higher prices and more carts or international options that would have cost me a lot more. I ended up spending about $250 on Bricklink with 3 USA sellers and 1 international (Hungary). So, $450 on parts (all new), Mirko's manual, and the lighting kit put the project at around $650 give or take. I would expect someone starting with nothing on hand to spend $800-$1000 on the project. Quite a fair price and about 10 hours of work to get here, not bad seeing as a LEGO set of this size would cost the same or more. Looking forward to joining the squadron! But for now I wait on LEGO bricks and pieces services and their notoriously slow shipping. :)
  3. Thank you so much Mirko! Should we contact brickstuff ourselves or will it be taken care of? I bought the lighting kit on release day. Also, I used the brick Hunter tool to build my PaB and BaP carts, looking at about $200 for 1500 pieces between the two. Do they count toward LEGO promotions like the double VIP points happening this weekend? LEGO also has lots of gifts with high dollar purchases this weekend. The tool worked really well. I took my time and manually checked each part and found no errors. It also takes into account the "have" quantity in your list. Prices were on the whole cheaper or at least average brick link price. So I bought all I could from Lego. The rest will be from bricklink. This should be around $200 to $400, I'm not sure yet. I had maybe 15% of the parts plus the 75188 bomber. So looking at 500 to 800 all in with manual, lights, and required pieces. Hoping my finch dallow figure sells in the coming weeks. That would offset most of this MOC! Best to all,
  4. Great! It has the USA option too, I really appreciate it. I'm on part 80 or so out of 500 so that was going to be a long haul. I'm still going to go through them because I need to pick through what I have. That tool is excellent.
  5. Mirko.... There are no words to describe this project but I will try with my initial reactions. EVERYTHING is top quality. Magnificent. Bar none. Perfection. This exceeds official LEGO in every manner and then some. I scrutinized every print, every page, all the stickers; nothing is lacking. The extra tips and advice to help with the build are welcome and concise. The last time I've been so excited about a LEGO project is the 75192 Falcon. Parts hunting begins now. Going to sift through my own unorganized pieces first... then to the Bricklink. I'm not sure how one is supposed to shop at the LEGO pick a brick site without being able to upload a file? I will skip them unless someone knows how to do that better. Also by the way guys... if any of you have the Finch Dallow minifigure sw1005, he sells for $400 give or take. Personally, selling my Finch and buying the standard Resistance Bomber Pilot (Item No: sw0861) is a great way to fund the B-project.
  6. Would like to know this as well. Also curious if anyone knows of any other sets that comprise a decent portion of the required pieces?
  7. This is good enough for us, thank you for the update. Just wanted to be sure you have the messages. Take care of the important things, family and work, first!
  8. Same here. Mirko @StarBricks can you let us know if you are still working through messages or have you caught up? In which case it appears our replies have not made it back to you. If the parts list can be sent soon that would be a great help. Thank you and hope the rest of your week is great.
  9. Got my first message asking for my shipping info so he can send a quote. He is getting to each of us, just taking a little while. Must have been a popular project! Happy for the attention and success, good work Mirko! Hoping I can order parts this weekend before the big rush. I wonder if there are any other sets via rebrickable that form a good portion of this MOC, other than the bomber.
  10. Indeed, same question on the parts. If you or anyone has made a modified list sans the official / original bomber parts, that would be cool to know how you do so. @StarBricks Mirko I wonder if that's a possibility for the release of parts lists? 1) 100% parts list or 2) parts list minus the 75188 set? I'm sure many of us were wise and listened to you when you told us having one of those would be prudent.
  11. Sounds good thanks for the update. Waiting on my email as well. I too am wary of webforms. :) Curious as to your rough cost for parts since you did get them all ordered in the US. All new?
  12. Maybe there is another lighting kit you are interested in to hit the free shipping threshold? $199 it looks like for Europe.
  13. Yeah thanks! My order is in as well. :)
  14. Yeah!!!!!!! Merry Starbricksmas, fellow studs! Email sent! Mirko... I want the B-project, realized I didn't put that in the email. :)
  15. Shall I leave milk and cookies out for ol' Saint Mirko tonight? Wine and tangerine?
  16. Thank you Mirko! I had already resigned to the fact that we won't have a lighting kit based on past posts, so this is great news!! I'm sure the manual price will be fair and sourcing parts will be about the journey just as much as the finished product. Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work. Looking forward to being one of the first across the pond to purchase your amazing project. We are looking at less than a week from release, right!?
  17. Yes please limit 1! I know we're all scared we'll miss it somehow and honestly it'll probably be okay, but never hurts to be safe! Thank you so much, I can't wait!
  18. My goal is to be the first American to buy a manual from you. :) Excited for Christmas in summer.
  19. Sometimes I awake and imagine that the bomber on my shelf is yours instead of LEGO's official set. One night StarBricks-Santa will come when we don't expect it. He will leave an instruction book and little Jimmy will find a few LEGO bricks that SB dropped along the way. Leave out your milk and cookies, my fellow acolytes.
  20. Hi, I just wanted to see if anyone else has seen issues with this set and new cracked pieces? After taking our time to build it, we found upon placing the last building on the shelf that there were some cracked pieces. Okay, that's happened depending on color or anomalies. But I kept looking, and found that over 50 pieces, primarily on the Flourish and Blotts building were cracked! It was mostly 1x1 bricks, "cheese" wedges, and anything long and/or tall. Colors affected were mainly light green, light grey and black. Surprisingly almost no orange, pink, or the notorious red-brown were cracked. LEGO is taking care of me (so thankful: after 6 months), but I just wanted to see if this was an issue anyone else was facing? It gave me a scare, as if I didn't want to buy LEGO anymore especially at this price point if only for the sake of long term value let alone the feeling that you paid for $400 dud. If it helps, I bought it on release night in the USA. Also to note were pretty poorly aligned sticker sheets. Love the set and this review, but just wanted to share these drawbacks.
  21. Did you still get the GWP? I've heard reports either way. I did the same, ordered before the GWP was shown in the cart.
  22. Wow what a juicy day in this thread, better than chocolate frogs and butter beer! IMHO mods keep up the good work and guide us on to clear waters. Trolls will be mountain trolls. As juicy as it is I feel we're losing focus, riddle or whoever he is has spilled his marbles so let's just let em roll. In other news, FedEx tracking updates again, delivery date got pushed up to Wednesday! Looking forward to MOCs galore with this set and others.
  23. Thank you Mirko, this release will be the most exciting in years, even beating the Cantina or DA!! I'm so excited and will hopefully be one of your first Americans to buy it, not that that makes anyone proud haha. Thanks for keeping us updated and no worries on the delays, we know the final product will be more than worth the wait.
  24. Me three! Delivery date of Thursday for my packages. 18 lbs, what a beast! Seems like the GWP is shipping separately? Got multiple tracking numbers coming my way. Any feedback on how they did packaging for the DA? Sometimes they just throw large sets in any old oversize box, and other times they make a custom shipper.
  25. Nice! I'm sure mine will come soon. I asked LEGO this morning as chat was surprisingly not busy, and they said "our warehouse team is working through the holiday weekend to get orders out" so that kinda stopped me in my tracks guilty. I'm fine waiting, but it is surprising DA is getting the tortoise treatment as compared to other releases and concurrent releases.
