  1. Nothing I can say is more profound than "No Jeff". Truly disappointing, the system wave this year is so stellar and the 4+ wave only had to do ONE THING. Lego, I'm begging you, bring me rivals sets. Please. I'd sacrifice modular oscorp for it. (Obligatory Kaine, Daredevil, Moon Knight, Luna Snow- all of whom happen to be in rivals as characters or skins.) I would even take a buildable Jeff. Please.
  2. Feels like it's been forever since the last post from you, I'm surprised this wasn't something like "And now, young skywalker... you will die." Honestly I'm totally fine with it, like you say we've had the throne room set twice in the last 5 years so I'm OK with them wasting this one on smart brick stuff. Unlike the advanced, which was to be our first in a decade. :( And at least the three throne rooms over this 6 year interval were/are targeted at very different demos (Kids, adults, and nobody, respectively). January 2026 official images don't tell us much we didn't already know. Cad looks great, happy for @BrickPrick. Cobb looks weirdly old between the hair and beard but the armor is cool. None of the builds are good and the rest of the figures are either re-uses or ones we've seen high-quality pictures of already.
  3. The increased accuracy could be nice, but I agree that I can't see them finding a way to go a composite blade/hilt mold that wouldn't be oversized. That makes sense to an extent, but I still wonder about the consistency. The helmets also don't have minfigures, but UCS sets, the statue collection, and of course the dioramas do/did. I assume those are part of it, but given how poorly a lot of this line has done, you'd think they'd recalibrate, especially with the demand for putting minifigs in that we see. As for exclusive figs, I'm sure it could annoy some people, but from lego's perspective I doubt they'd care much as it's people who wouldn't have bought the set anyway. (And a lot of the complainers probably WILL pick up the set anyway, if social media is anything to go off of). Honestly I never got this complaint. I can understand being frustrated with something like Rex being locked behind a $600+ set, or a limited-time GWP, but the starship collection generally runs at $40-80, which as far as lego goes nowadays is low-to-mid-range for even system sets. This has come up before but I still have serious trouble believing star wars pays a license "per character", have we ever seen any reliable information on that? There are two major things that really make me skeptical about it. 1. Advent calendars would be DISGUSTINGLY overpriced, well beyond pretty much any other set, especially assuming that the license isn't specifically due to minifigures (because why would it be?). Similarly, we very often would get battle packs with no repeats, or including a number of named characters despite fan outcry for ones that just included four copies of the same figure. Why would lego not simply do four copies of the same character, since that would then assumably be cheaper? 2. This seems absurdly complicated and almost unenforceable for what constitutes a "different character". Does lego have to pay money for every different color of clone trooper or battle droid? Is lego paying a license for brick-built droids like the GNK droid? How does lego pay for figures like Jedi Bob or the Ackbar trooper who aren't from previous star wars lore but are clearly star wars characters? Would lego pay a seperate license for different outfits of the same character? Take the upcoming clones vs mandalorians battle pack- does lego have to pay once for the male mandalorian and once for the female mandalorian? In that case, would lego have to pay double the rate if they, say, put the tan vest style endor trooper and the green trenchcoat style trooper in the same set? Do the lawyers count generic background characters who technically have names like Nik Sant as seperate from "endor rebel trooper"? For something like the rogue one wave, was lego paying for every unique generic trooper they made, because they were technically different characters? I just can't see them drawing up such a needlessly complicated system rather than "Pay us X rate to make sets" or "we take x% of your profits". As a side note, a lot of us are always asking for more playsets/location sets, and I think we're seeing why we don't tend to get that. Aside from the starship collection and the 4+ YJA set, the only sets I've seen hitting 40-50% off both online and around me are all location sets. Right now it's fairly easy to get Peridea, Boarding the Tantive (between this and the starship collection the Tantive's really having a rough time), and Moff Gideon Battle for 40-50% off... which happen to be the three most recent location/playsets. Assumably they just don't do as well with kids as vehicles do.
  4. You should probably get that pen checked out, I think it's using gasoline as ink. Unfortunately it's an existing Kylo Ren figure so it doesn't necessarily mean there's more on the horizon. I wasn't going to be the one to put it that bluntly, but yes, you're right. The last one was better. I get the helmet, but what's wrong with his lightsaber? I can't see a way they'd be able to make it better without dual-molding the hilt and blade into one piece. I think everyone's been thinking this since they came out, it seems like such an obvious slam dunk and I don't fully understand why they won't do it. I know there's a few sets I've been on the edge about (such as the starcruiser at 30% off or the Tantive at 50% off) where an Admiral Ackbar or Princess Leia displayed alongside it could have brought me over the fence into buying the set. And you have to imagine there's a lot of figure collectors who would have POUNCED on a dooku or grievous in the invisible hand (or even the aforementioned Ackbar, our last OT ackbar was in 2013 I think). It would also appeal a bit more to kids, and you'd imagine that all that combined might stop these sets from consistently reaching 40-50% off at retailers, something you used to almost never see with star wars sets. I have to assume that if lego's run the numbers (which I'm sure they have), that $3 or so that adding a minifigure would cost would be more than offset by increased sales (as in purchases) and reduced sales (as in discounts). The only thing I can think of is that lego's scared adding a minifigure will scare away adults. Which I think is unlikely, but wouldn't put past lego to think.
  5. Interesting couple of sets: MIGUEL STOP YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG MILES: This is a really funny mech to me for a few reasons. The first being that the mech itself is absolutely kitted out with the triple stud shooter and big lightning bolt element, along with the giant shoulder flaps that make the mech look like it's got bodybuilder arms. The second is that while the mech's logo is based on the spider-verse movies, the figures are just of normal comic Miles and Miguel, not their sony versions, so it's really odd that they're fighting- and 2099 is shooting a laser? Does he have that power in the comics, I don't think I've ever seen him use it? An odd setup but a solid 8/10 set as far as mechs go, it looks fun and it'll be nice for kids to get 2099 cheap without gambling on the CMF version. Buildable Baby Groot #712: Ok so we're done now, right? We've had Baby groot, venom Baby groot, rocket with baby groot, twig baby groot, there's no more baby groots. The only remaining option would be to do something like a big adult groot, which could be used in figure compatible displays as a fully grown Flora Colussus Groot, which of course we'll never see. I expect Anti-Venomized groot in 2027. 6/10, this groot is basically just a recolor of the 2022/23 ones. I will say, I love that stock photo where they've posed him up leaning on the bomb with his eyebrows angled to give him a stupid smug expression. It's like he's mocking us for how many of him they produce.
  6. Seriously. I remember there was a year or two there where sets would leak AND lego would reveal it (or at least allow LAN to cover the leaks? I can't remember) both on thanksgiving. I'm not going to look through every set, but you might be right. The TIE pilot is somehow the standout. The rebel pilot is re-uses, with the best part of it being a new helmet that while non-canon could fit in as a generic rebel pilot. The droid is a bit colorful and mcdonald's-y to fit into canon, and you have two other OC's who are, at best, usable as generic human civilians- not something we're exactly hurting for. The 18+ leaks are... fine. Not particularly bad, but not very good. I usually give the leaks comedic fake names when I go over them, but I've been staring at them for a good 10 minutes and there's just... nothing. Nothing in particular to make fun of, nothing standing out as good, no figures to joke about... they're just boring. The AT-AT's a solid model. The head is too wide, but the rest is good. The price feels a bit much, especially for the number of tiny pieces, but that's to be expected from this theme at this point. The Venator looks great, and at 643 pieces for $80... it's not too bad of a price for the subtheme. Is that 4x4 triangular tile at the rear of the ship new? I don't think I've seen it before. BB-8 isn't very good. Sure, it's rounder than the 2017 model, but at the expense of most details now being printed- while it's not quite as bad as the kylo ren helmet, it's heavily overreliant on prints. I'm glad that there's some way to get the minifig-compatible BB-8 for kids, but at $90 it's a good thing he's still so cheap on BL.
  7. They're taunting me. They have the discount in the US, it's listed under black friday deals, but they didn't restock it. There was an excellent costco deal- the UCS AT-ST AND the 327th pack for $150 total- so 25% off the AT-ST and a free 327th pack- but it went out of stock before I could personally snatch it. Still on the lookout, but I have to make sure I'm not getting into the "I have saved money on this set I didn't want in the first place" trap. If the 327th pack for $36 starts looking tempting, that's when I know it's time to get off the internet.
  8. That's actually an excellent deal, what is that, $250ish of free lego for buying the death star? More horrifying black friday news, the US site now has a list called "Lego Star Wars Black Friday Sets" and literally none of them are on sale. It's just an article about sets you can buy at full price. Some especially hilarious bits- -They wrote about the gingerbread AT-AT (honestly a good one to write about, it's a fair price and cute set), and due to them putting up a display of the set listing, the article is showing that it's out of stock. You can't even buy it. -In a similar vein, due to including the set listings in the article, they are proudly displaying a 1-star average review under their blurb about the juggarnaut. -The article calls the firespeeder a "highly desirable display piece" (This doesn't seem like it was AI written, but it's harder to tell with corporate speak), which... what? It's from a lego special- as well as claiming it's the first set to include a Sig Greebling Figure... aside from being a weird thing to brag about, that's not even true. -They have a blurb about helmet sets saying they have helmets of "many iconic characters, and we're not just talking about Darth Vader and Stormtroopers", which is good because neither of those helmets are sold by lego anymore. They also include $30 sets in their "small sets" list, which... fine. That one's not really on lego, and more on the inescapable march of inflation, but still puts me in a dour mood. Edit: For those of you in the US, amazon has the following deals at the moment, though they don't have any of them marked specifically as black friday: Tantive IV $40 (50% off), Tantive IV Hallway $33 (40% off), Peridea $33 (40% off), Maul Mech $11.3 (37% off), Plo Koon's Microfighter $9.4 (37% off), Droidika $42 (35% off), Luke Mech $11.18 (30% off), TIE Fighter and X-wing mashup $82.5 (25% off), And of course about half the sets from the past year or two at 20% off as is normal for amazon.
  9. (MINOR SPOILERS BASED ON PLOT LEAKS AND SET PHOTOS) Those are all excellent. I think we're all predicting that one way or another Raimi Goblin is coming. I hope so, but we'll have to see whether or not lego tries to hold him back in the most expensive set.
  10. RAEL! I NEED YOU RAEL! That would be nice, whether or not the vs was a D2C remake of older BPs like I'd been suggesting. Even something like 2 normal packs (Which I'm confident lego could get down to $18ish, and hopefully will given I haven't been seeing great sales on the $20-23 packs- even though the $45 one is doing horrifyingly well) and a pack like the coruscant one would be nice. Yeah, I was focused on the original era of battle packs, but the 2016/17 FO/Resistance and Rebel/Imperial packs would also be good and have had enough of a design scheme evolution for a remake. Unfortunately they gave up on the opposing faction battlepacks in 2018, and the stud-shooter-intro set of packs in 2014/15 also lacked faction clash, but I guess they could also expand some of the two-in-one BPs from that 2012/2013 era. So long as they make the price a bit more reasonable again, PLEASE. This would be one of the best moves the theme could take. You could still even give us one clone battlepack every year, and there wouldn't be nearly as many complaints because we'd also be able to get any other faction alongside it. Yeah, it's hilariously arrogant. Like we should be honored to purchase from them at (an extremely inflated) full price. I felt like I hadn't ordered from their store in awhile so I went back and confirmed that yup, the last time I bought from them was black friday 2024, where they A: had sales and B: I used up my VIP points to get the set for $3. There's just no reason to buy from them anymore- the GWPs are always at hilariously high thresholds anyway. Usually we'd get high-quality leaks around thanksgiving and lego would reveal them shortly after, so I think one or the other will happen any day now. I don't think I've seen it since around it's release when I was a kid so I'm pretty fuzzy here too. Yup. It's wild to me that this was publicly stated rather than hidden behind some sort of smokescreen about double points and GWPs. It's so arrogant. And that's the other part of it that's wild to me, is that black friday isn't an "out of the kindness of their heart the company takes a big loss" sort of thing either. It uses the principle of loss-leaders- items that the store will take a loss on to generate significant traffic to their storefront/site, leading to other sales on full-price items while they're there. Black Friday also serves to clear out old stock so a company can move the Christmas inventory onto shelves. With the takeover of online shopping it doesn't work quite as well as before, but the principle still generally holds. You CAN be profit-motivated and make moves to increase profits that are also beneficial to consumers, lego just doesn't seem to remember that. But as you point out, they also don't remember that Bionicle saved them from bankruptcy just 20-25 years ago, so... They're essentially already here, with how well that stupid 327th pack is selling when it's quite literally 50% more than the coruscant pack for the same amount of stuff. I still can't get over that. I LIKE the 327th. They were the legion I used in battlefront for ages. I think a lot of people like them just off the "rule of cool" schema that they all have pauldrons and kamas. Had it been a normal pack, they would probably have been one of the last legions I was still willing to buy. But that price is just gross, and the fact that it's so easily compared to a set of better value makes me retch.
  11. Yup. You can still find some good deals in-store sometimes in the clearance aisle, but it's rare to see good discounts direct from lego anymore unless the set had REALLY poor sales. I know- aside from coming off as sort of preachy, in a way (I don't know, I'm sure I'm reading into it but the way it's written on the site it almost feels like lego is implying the consumer is greedy for wanting discounts)- it's just false. The whole point of black friday IS the sales. The whole idea behind it is that by offering crazy deals on some items there's a rush of people, and while you might have some loss leaders you're also going to have a lot of people buying other items while they're in your store/browsing online, or clear out stock so you can make room for Christmas inventory. If it's not about the sales, what is it about? The spirit of...friday-ness? Yeah, that's all I was saying, that it wouldn't be a good fit for the concept I was running with. I looked around on Wookiepedia and can't find anything that explicitly confirms it, but it's possible. Ziro had some in the movie and Fox's team comes to rescue Padme from him, I just can't remember if they actually fight the droids in there, I thought he just let her leave. There are a few times Anakin and/or Ahsoka fight them (Senate takeover, the junker ship in the Evil R2 clone episodes), but they never had clones with them in those fights.
  12. Yeah, I'm unclear as to why they set that sale up so early. Maybe they just really don't want any good sales for black friday. Small D2Cs would be a good option for the less iconic factions, so they're still able to be army-built but wouldn't be shelfwarming at retailers. But wouldn't you rather just have a normal battle pack of P1s rather than some P1s and a glob of assassin droids that, as far as I recall, never even fight clones in the show? At that point, if we assume it'd follow the same pricing as the 2024 BP combo (which given it involves clones is a big assumption), it'd be a worse rate than the 2018 battle pack for getting clone shinies. Yup. Lego is splitting the theme into "ipad kids" and "adults who think minifigures are too kiddie to be in their lego sets" That would be nice. I'm hoping the $10 price point provides with accurately sized AT-RTs and BARC speeders at some point. Lego misunderstood quite what the words meant and we're going to get a minifigure of that "big shot" iron man outfit that's just Tony in a blue suit and tie. I have some terrible news for you all. I was trying to look for black friday sales on lego.com to see if they had anything listed as going on sale that day, and found the following horrible quote MULTIPLE TIMES throughout the Q&A section: "LEGO Black Friday isn't all about sales". Followed by saying it's a great opportunity to buy a set (presumably at retail price) before the christmas rush. (Which, for one thing, feels very stuck-up to act like the whole event is just... to purchase their products at full price, but also, is black friday not in itself a rush? Isn't that the point of the event, to get a rush of buyers- which is why traditionally companies put stuff on sale?) To be fair, they do mention "discounts on many popular lego sets" under the direct question about how to get a deal on lego sets, but the fact that they frontload the Q&A with "Black friday isn't all about sales" makes me think we're about to get some very, very lackluster discounts.
  13. "Mark, this is good 2026 news. We can finally be the smart bricks we were meant to be." Lego Black Friday has been pretty lackluster the past few years. I'm hoping for a good deal on the Ghost before it retires, but not expecting much. Or for the Rebel speeder/Imperial Dropship set to come back in stock with that 40% sale still active, I will dispatch my entire wallet for that deal, I'm so annoyed I missed out on it. I was thinking it'd be nice if we got more limited-release battlepack 2-packs in the vein of 2024's rebel vs stormtrooper set, it's nostalgic of course but also a fun nod to some of the theme's unique aspects without putting non-canon builds out on wide retail release. Obviously the rebel speeder and imperial dropship are probably the most iconic of the non-canon battlepack builds, but there were some other good ones in the first era of battle packs. A remake of the 2010 hoth packs, maybe with Moustache Rebel as the exclusive fig, could be fun. Those first few years were weirdly heavy on "clones vs random faction", but the 2011 set had some unique clone troopers against the death watch and could also make a fun set. I wouldn't necessarily want a repeat of the 2007 clone and droid packs, but they were the first SW battle packs and we do now have modern versions of all those clones. Definitely wouldn't want one of the "clone shinies vs assassin droid" packs from 2009, but it is kind of cool how the droid speeder (presumably coincidentally) evokes some design elements of the IG-2000.
  14. Yeah, apparently it went on 40% off and then went out of stock. I'm kicking myself for not having checked when it was still there and hoping we get a restock (but even if we do I assume they'd put it back at the normal price.) Do we have black friday sales revealed yet? For me, on the US site, I'm only seeing "Insiders weekend" (yesterday and today) stuff. That is nice, it seems like a great set and I'm glad they plan to keep it around for a bit. Thrawn quotes could probably keep your campaign running for another year, there's so many that are relevant to the concept. Well now I have to buy another one to keep pace. You've forced my hand.
  15. I hope it does in Germany, because it's an excellent set and I want more people to get it, but for my own sake I almost hope it doesn't in the US- any discount on that thing and I'll buy up to the purchase limit. I think an AT-TE microfighter with Cody or a Cody mech would be really funny, but also a legitimately nice move to let kids who don't have $140 get ahold of him.
  16. All great sets, shoutout to Santa Baylan That would be cool. Always have to take the opportunity to show off my Acclamator since it's one of my favorite builds: After the disappointing 2026 news, here's another Walletbuster wave: A wave of sets where I'd likely buy every single one of them. My last one tried to be more realistic in terms of set material, this one.... is not. Lots of generic mandalorian stuff that basically serve as vehicles to give me templates for different mandalorian ships and figure parts/colors so I can expand my displays. Sith leviathan Microfighter ($12.99): Darth Revan Jedi Survivor Mech ($16.99): A red and white mech designed in BD-1's aesthetic. Comes with Cal Kestis (Jedi survivor defaults) Mandalorian Clan Pack 1 ($19.99): Beskar forge with Mandalorian Blacksmith (Male, Bright Red armor and jetpack with dark brown undersuit), Mandalorian Ace (Female, yellow armor and jetpack with white undersuit), Mandalorian Artisan (Female, Bright Red armor and jetpack with dark brown undersuit), Mandalorian Flier (Male, Yellow armor and jetpack with white undersuit). Mandalorian Clan Pack 2 ($19.99): Mandalorian speeder and refueling station with Mandalorian Racer (Female, dark orange armor with reddish brown undersuit like the male mando from the 2020 pack), Mandalorian Gunslinger (Male, Pink armor on magenta undersuit, cape), Mandalorian Ranger (Male, standard Green armor with azure highlights and dark brown undersuit like the female mando in the 2020 pack), Mandalorian Sentinel (Female, silver armor with dark brown suit, sort of like a Nite Owl set for Din's armor) Mandalorian Fang Fighter ($37.99): Mandalorian Fang Fighter in green and azure livery with Mandalorian Scout (Female, similar to 2020 green design but with more green on the body and an azure set of jag eyes on the helmet), Mandalorian Shadow (Male, black armor), Mandalorian Polar (Female, white armor), and Mandalorian Bishop (Male, white armor) Chariot Assault Tank ($54.99): Comes with an Imperial Officer, Chariot Driver, Stormtrooper Commander, Mara Jade, R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker. Clone Headhunter vs Vulture Droid ($64.99): Headhunter and Vulture Droid (smaller than the 2014 one) with Plo Koon, Warthog, Wolffe, and 2x Wolfpack Trooper. Mandalorian Gauntlet Starfighter ($109.99): Mandalorian Gauntlet fighter (Red and reddish brown with orange highlights) with a 2-seater cockpit and function to drop the seating rack below the fuselage to act as a dropship. Comes with Mandalorian Firewing (Female, bright red armor with reddish brown undersuit and orange accents, pilot box on torso like the Rebels mandos), Mandalorian Inferno (Orange armor with bright red accents and reddish brown undersuit with dark tan fur cape), Mandalorian Blazer (Male, bright red armor with dark red undersuit and silver accents), Mandalorian Ghost (Female, Gunmetal armor and undersuit), Mandalorian Chameleon (Male, dark tan armor with reddish brown undersuit), Mandalorian Sniper (Female, pink armor with magenta undersuit), 2x Mandalorian Claimsmen (light bluish grey armor with dark bluish grey undersuit) and 2x Mandalorian Claimswomen (light bluish grey armor with dark bluish grey undersuit). Echo Base ($159.99): Large Hoth Echo Base build with the main doors, medical bay, snowspeeder hanger with midi-scale snowspeeder, and command room. Also includes one of each turret type. Comes with Luke Skywalker (bacta tank), Leia (Hoth), Major Derlin, R-3PO, Wedge Antilles, Wes Janson, 3x Rebel Trooper (With faces meant to resemble Namir, Roja, and Beak), Chewbacca (snowy), a Snowtrooper Commander, and 2x Snowtrooper. D2C: The Stinger Mantis ($239.99): Massive Stinger Mantis with a display stand and plaque. Has a full interior with cockpit, mission select table, living area, kitchen, workshop/engine room, and a hideout for the Bogling. Comes with (All JFO designs) Cal Kestis (Default, poncho), Cere Junda, Greez Ditrius, Nightsister Merrin, BD-1, The Bogling, Second Sister, and 2x Purge Trooper.
  17. IIRC Gwenpool (the first one) is a woman named Gwen Poole who's from OUR world, like Superboy Prime in DC. No relation to Gwen Stacy beyond a passing resemblance. The new one who IS Gwen, I have no idea. I'm torn between wanting them to reveal it's not actually Gwen just so we can have 1 or 2 characters that actually stayed dead, or wanting it to BE Gwen and for her to work with Peter so Spider-Man can finally get a win in the 616 continuity. Yup, it all depends. Ironically we're getting a very X-men '97 inspired Gambit and Rogue in the Marvel Rivals game and Rogue has brown hair with Gambit having bright red hair. It's possible, but given his head is just a re-use I think it's fairly likely that they just kitbashed a generic figure without putting any real thought into it.
  18. Hopefully we get some better deals for black friday, but most likely it'll just be a couple 20%s on some slower sellers. That's a really good point, the OT battlepack 2-pack one is just objectively better value as it does include more full minifigures, over a hundred more pieces and a lower price. (And while out of stock it was $24 for a bit on lego.com? WHAT? Probably good I didn't catch it while in stock, I would have hit the purchase limit on that immediately) Lislop-al Giab, show us the way. It is, it's a fun figure. Yeah, no, as I've said before, a 327th battle pack in concept is something I'd have been very excited for a few years ago. Even being inundated with clones, had this set been $30 I would have picked up one or two of em. But the outrageous price gouging just makes me gag. Similarly, a TIE advanced has been one of my most wanted sets, but the smart brick integration means unless it's VERY limited I won't even consider buying it.
  19. The difference being peacemaker got a full TV show to redeem himself whereas Lex will be, at best, the deurontagonist in what's shaping up to be a proto-avengers scale movie wherein he will also most likely betray superman before the credits roll. (And also, while peacemaker was waller's stooge and an antagonist by the end of the movie, he's definitely "one of the squad" for much of it, and importantly for his redemption, is both a comedic character and a loser.)
  20. It is crazy. Hopefully for Jedi 3, the Mantis has remained around through the first two games so hopefully lego views it as a safe enough tie-in for the third. Yeah it's just the way I structure the lists, I didn't want to make it just a ton of battle packs. I do like that this one would sort of serve as a way to get the full Supremacy experience rather than piecemealing other sets, it's basically a big playset/CW starter kit. Faction/Themed advent Calendars: Advent Calendar: Jedi Temple Hearth: Includes 5 minifigures (Exclusive CW armor anakin, Santa Yoda, and Purple Sweater Mace with new torsos, as well as CW armor Obi-Wan and TCW S5 Ahsoka), a B1 battle droid dummy, a buildable WAC pit droid, and a number of small builds representing bits of the temple. These include a few temple chairs, an ancient fireplace, a training remote with training saber rack, etc. Advent Calendar: Christmas Clone Barracks: Includes 5 minifigures (Exclusive Jesse figure, Rex- Christmas sweater, Cody-Christmas sweater, a 501st trooper, and a shiny), as well as a chained-up commando droid, buildable GNK droid, and a number of builds including a radio station console, bar for...water, barracks tent, tree made of scrap, etc. Advent Calendar: Droid Factory Decoration: Includes 3 minifigures (Exclusive TCW Cad Bane, Dooku (Pajama torso), Ventress (christmas sweater)), and a number of droid-style figures including Grievous, a B1 battle droid, B2 battle droid, commando droid, B1 commander, and buildable droidika, buzz droid, demo droid, and a downsized Retail Droid. Other builds include various machines and other elements of the factory. Advent Calendar: Yavin Rebel Celebration: Includes 6 minifigures (Exclusive Biggs Darklighter, Han Solo- Christmas sweater, Chewbacca- Christmas bandolier, Ceremony Leia, Rebel Ground Crew, Yavin Jacket Luke), as well as R2-D2 and a treadwell droid. Builds include the watchtower post, briefing room screen, seats, command table, different hanger material such as a gantry and crane, etc. Advent Calendar: Imperial Holiday March: Includes 5 minifigures (Exclusive Army Trooper, Grand Moff Tarkin- Christmas Sweater, Stormtrooper- Christmas sweater, Emperor Palpatine, and Darth Vader), as well as a probe droid, security droid, and medical droid. Builds include Vader's throne, an imperial banner, stormtrooper barracks, E-web, conference room table, etc. Advent Calendar: Bountiful Festivity: Includes 5 minifigures (Boba Fett-Christmas sweater, Bossk-Christmas sweater, Dengar (santa hat), 4-Lom, Zuckuss) as well as IG-88, a buildible Serpias mech, GNK droid with guns strapped to it, and an exclusive BT-1. Builds include cantina tables/chairs/bar, a wanted board, bounty vending machine thing they use in TCW, crate of credits, crate of jewels, a swoop bike, etc.
  21. Black Friday? We have "insiders weekend" the week before, but the only SW sales I see are 20% of the ROTS brickheadz and- fittingly for your question- the desert skiff. I get what you mean that many of the builds could take place in different eras, but I will be pedantic and point out that technically speaking the majority of the AC is sequel-set and depicts a specific location/scene. That said, yes, the mix of eras is nice. But I still think a Rebel/Imperial/Separatist/Yes, Clone advent would be just fine.
  22. They needed to make him more reasonable in Superman2025. There's definitely a way to make "guy is suspicious of the infinitely powerful alien who could destroy all of human civilization in an afternoon" lead to a more understandable antagonist, or even going the personal angle where Lex has had to fight for everything he has and views superman being born with this godlike power as cheating at life (You'd also probably want to make it so superman doesn't get curbstomped as much in the earlier fights if you're going the latter route). Especially with Gunn for whatever reason deciding to make it so superman's parents DID send him to take over. If Lex found that in a less cartoonishly evil manner and was more legitimately concerned about humanity than "envy is a calling", and spent the rest of the film fighting superman because he thought Kal-el was going to fulfill his mission, you could easily have him set up as a believable protagonist in MoT. Or at least one who we aren't all immediately certain is going to betray superman in the film. As-is, self-aggrandized jealously and... aiding an invasion to get a tax-haven micronation (why is this the second time in a year that a superhero project's given a sometimes-nuanced character a cartoonish scheme to create their own Petoria?) don't really lead to much sympathy from the audience or want to see the character as a protagonist.
  23. The Slop Must Flow. (Again, clones in general are not slop, but that set certainly is.) Those were two of the three years with the most minifigures, and 2016 specifically had the most ever recorded, including a Christmas chewbacca that could essentially work as a non-holiday albino wookie. Were it not for the microbuilds, I might agree. But 2025 managing to completely eliminate microbuilds makes up for it's lackluster figure count IMO. It's a generational leap for the franchise- if they keep it up in 2026 I think we've seen the biggest shift since the price increase/figure count nerf around 2021/2022. I agree that an imperial or rebel one would be incredible. I'll throw some faction-specific ones in the future sets thread in a bit here so as not to clutter this one. I'd be more disappointed because it'd be a set I'd be more likely to buy at a fair price. Unfortunately, we're getting a great example of this in march, where it's hypothetically an OT playset wave, except exceedingly overpriced and entirely crippled by smart bricks.
  24. Aside from the obvious issue of the 327th pack being such a bestseller, this isn't terrible. The juggarnaut's having a real tough time of it, for one thing. But the fact that the four sets most people consider the best of the year- those $60-70 starfighters with 3-4 figs- are so close to the bottom is pretty concerning. I have my excel of the SW advents and realized I hadn't yet updated it for 2025. 2025 is tough for me to quantify into my standard system, given that it includes two one-piece (is real) figures. Previously I counted Baby Yoda as a minifigure, so I stuck with that precedent and counted Babu as one as well, with the BD-unit being a molded droid maybe more than the B2s and B1s the catagory is meant for. Anyway, here's the breakdown: Minifigures: 3: (Babu, Jawa, C-3PO) against an average of 5.67 overall and 5 since 2021, the first to contain a number other than 5 since 2021 Molded Droids: 5 (B1, B2, BD, BB, R7) against an average of 1.9 overall and 1.25 since 2021. All-time high. Brick-built droids: 8 (Treadwell, Short Probe, Gender Reveal Party GNK, Buzz on a stick, B2EMO, medical christmas tree droid, Candy Cane mouse droid, Pit Droid). against an average of 1.53 overall and 1 for the modern era (post-2021) All-time high. Microbuild: 0 against an average of 13 for both all time and the modern era. All time low, first ever 0. System-compatible build: 9 (booster seat, charlie brown christmas tree, Crate 1, crawler, desk, tool rack, crate 2, crate 3 with soda bottles, crane.) (It comes to 25 because BB-8 and the charlie brown christmas tree are in the same bag) against an average of 4 for both all time and the modern era. All time high. The set also contains four new prints (Babu, BB torso, BB head, Jawa torso) and C-3PO has arm printing, against an average of 2.07 for all time and 2.25 for the modern era. Tied with 2014 for all-time high. And it includes what I believe to be our first-ever new mold, though one I assume was designed for TMAG. As for my thoughts, while initially I disliked the set for it's drop in minifigures (only TWO normal minifigures?!?!?!?), it's markedly better in literally every other scenario. More droids (both molded and brick-built) and more system-compatible builds (all time highs for all three), as well as being the first advent calendar without ANY microbuilds. The first time ever where every build- aside from some christmas colors- could be integrated into your standard scale SW sets. This is an unequivocable victory. I'm sure the microbuilds have some fans, but I think most people would prefer the builds fit the scale of the other minifigure-compatible sets. If I had one request for 2026, it would be that instead of a new mold and 4 new prints, we maybe get a few of those brick-builds replaced to bring our figure count back to 5 at least. But overall a good sign for the set, I think. This is a big issue. I feel good seeing the pack get marked down more and more at my local walmart and still not move units, but that anecdote doesn't really compare to being the bestselling SW set in germany on amazon. Doesn't even matter if it's one guy being a statistical outlier, if it's selling 50% better than the next bestselling set in a somewhat significant market, that doesn't bode well for the future of the theme. Everybody get ready for the $50 104th and 41st packs...
