DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

The issue being (this applies to @Toast too) that despite having about the same total number of figures as the x-mansion and about the same proportion of generic civilians as the bugle, the daily planet by combining the two ends up with a really lackluster figure selection for a modular. The X-mansion has just 10 figures, but they're 9 costumed superheroes and Professor X, who while not costumed is still a pretty major superhero and the leader of the X-men. It's ten hydrogen bombs. The Bugle has 10 civilians, sure, but it also has FIFTEEN costumed superheroes and villains (and one of those civilians is JJJ, who personally I'd consider well above any other civilian figure). The proposed figure selection for the Planet has 12 minifigures, almost half of them generic purists (and let's be clear- Perry White is no JJJ). When we look at the modulars, when they have that few figures, they're all superhero/villain figures. When they have twice as many figures total is when you start getting more civilians. Even the hypothetical Daily Planet figure selection would be by far the weakest of the modulars, and when your building is the daily planet as opposed to something like Avengers Tower or the X-mansion, I don't think you can also have the weakest figure selection. I'm guessing either a UCS BTASmobile or a UCS Pattmobile. Movie's coming the year after, I know, but you'd think the same issue would apply to the system scale one. -

This might be one of my favorite days just for how naturally it flowed out of the conversation. It's finally dipped to $17-18 in the states, so once Santa visits and I know whether or not I got any (It was on my list, but with explicit instructions to only get it if it dropped below $20- I'm not gonna request that someone else pay a price I wouldn't), I'll be grabbing 1-3 of them. It's a shame there's two death troopers in each, but I'll find something to do with the spares, and I do love the build (and of course the night troopers being the primary goal) First of all that numbering combination is just off limits now, I don't care if it was intentional or not, you're sentenced to the spice mines of kessel. But more unfortunately, I'm pretty confident that $45 set is a clone battle pack. I'd guess wolfpack or kashyyyk, with the other appearing in a larger set this summer. (Which I want to say would be a venator, but I just don't see a Venator including 3x of a clone legion plus their commander, so maybe it's an AT-OT, UT-AT- wouldn't that be funny- or a 2008 sized RFT). I requested a copy or two of the night trooper pack (only if it could be found below $20 because $23 is too much), and then one of the Moff Gideon Battle set just because it was down to $20 and it's a good terrain/mandalorian part pack. In terms of stuff I myself will purchase, it's pretty much nothing. That Night Trooper pack on discount is the only 2025 SW set I'll have bought. Though that Boarding the Tantive IV from 2024 is hitting bigger and bigger discounts, so even though that was a day 1 buy for me, once it hits $20 I'll probably get 2-3 more, sell the fiveses and vaders, and basically treat it as a battle pack with a big build. -

Educated guess primarily based on the Bugle retiring (hence they can slot in a new spider-man modular), the spider-man sets this year providing more minifigures to put in, and process of elimination. Another DC one is out of the question, and the figures availible to use in a modular would rule out a comic-based avengers mansion (they'd only have like 2-3 figures to put in), an avengers compound (we'd have seen endgame sets in the january 2026 wave), etc. Oscorp makes the most sense. Not to be blunt but the daily planet was never going to happen this year and I'm not entirely sure where you're getting that they have a prototype made from. There are literally two minifigures they could use, and unlike Arkham they can't re-use the same torso and legs for 60% of the figures. One film wouldn't be enough to bring superman from "can barely get a mech as his only set in five years" to modular territory even if it had been an Endgame level hit, and it certainly wasn't that. The mech itself is retiring early, implying poor sales. -

Last I saw, there are 3-5 TMAG sets planned for may (leaks I can find show 5 total but don't seem sure on the dates for two of them) A decent imperial remnant set (I'm overdosing on copium that we'll get a rebel Y-wing at some point and as such not thinking about an NR one) would be nice, but assuming only the three with known price points are actually may, here's my guess: $75 TBA Piece set: The Mandalorian's Arena Battle: Arena build- a number of the pieces go towards buildable gladiator monsters including the demogorgan-looking one and Jeremey-Allen-TheHutt. Non-buildible figures include The Mandalorian, Grogu, a humanoid gladiator, and a humanoid criminal/villain character. $130 1200 piece set: I'm calling their bluff on that 10+ label, this is too suspiciously well-price-per-pieced to be anything other than a buildable mandalorian (with mandalorian minifigure) $150 930 piece set: The Mandalorian's Razor Crest: About the same size as the 2020 version. Comes with The Mandalorian, Grogu, Zeb, Sigourney Weaver, Carson Teva, and Trapper Wolf. The other two without prices or piece counts I'll guess are an AT-AT and a new Mando's N-1, maybe coming with "spoiler" characters. -

Clearly they're referring to the 12 piece snowspeeder, the AT-AT is just a side build. If you're doing it to the UCS one, gravity will stop you unless you keep it mostly upright. -

Ah, a discernable reason, just a stupid one. That's definitely possible- three whole batmobiles is just too generous for lego DC, we probably only got that much this year because of the game. I guess it's also possible they throw in the 1989 batwing- I know it says legendary BATMOBILE collection, but at this point I would not at all be surprised if the designers/marketing team forgot how to read. There's a wide time variance, but rest assured, whatever news we do get won't be relevant to batman. (I'm pretty sure it's Oscorp, but it's 100% a marvel modular) -
To this point, there was a whole subline of ninjago enemies who used those mismashed cultural elements (Though the leader's headdress looked more Aztec than Polynesian to me), and that was only a few years ago. So whatever people personally think about what's offensive or not, clearly lego's OK with it. Not that it's relevant anymore with the confirmation that Tahu and Lloyd are the only legacy figures. 1: absolutely not the point but I can't get over the idea of a businessman suit as cultural dress. I guess it's technically correct, but it's just really funny to think about. 2: While not explicitly religious, the scottish dress and kilt on the bagpiper are of very significant cultural importance and different patterns signify different clans/families. Of course, I've never met anyone with scottish ancestry who's upset about lego making a figure, even though it's a stereotype or whatever- I think it's cool. I've got family who went out of their way to get that figure back in the day and own no other legos. Same. For the 25th of the theme that saved lego, you'd hope they'd do more than a single minifigure. Even if it's just a full set of toa in that buildable GWP style, we need a set. It's got to be Tahu Mata. The last two bionicle "sets" we got (GWP and the Thu side build in the classics set) were both Mata, I doubt they'd change it now. As for the mask, I'm hoping it's done as a helmet- there's definitely enough room on top of the mask to fit a stud connection to a head.

I'm partially inclined to agree but at the same time there's just not much else to do. Assumably 2027 will bring us the 1989 or 1992 mobile (but not both in the same wave), the '66 batmobile and then.... what? The Tumbler retires on the very last day of 2026, so unless they want to swap it out right away, there's pretty much nothing else they can do without diving into the cartoons. No way. Lego didn't make a direct tie-in for Superman, just the mech. Superman itself, while whether or not or to what extent it made profit is cloudy, objectively wasn't any sort of runaway hit on the scale of NWH or other movies lego's hurried to rush out sets for. Supergirl comes out only a year after superman, so lego would have had to sprint to get a set out even faster than the NWH set. Given superman wasn't anywhere near a NWH level of success and there's no way supergirl makes more money than superman (being essentially a spinoff), I doubt lego is going to make that sprint. And Supergirl likely making less also implies that if all they did for superman was a mech, it's again unlikely they do anything for supergirl. And then we add on that the mech's retiring early, strongly implying it had poor sales... -

I don't know. If it is what the marketing leaks suggest it's going to be marketed as... it'll at least be better than the earlier rounds of leaks and fix how endgame makes no sense if you think about it. Still won't be anything all that good, but at least the characters it's about are ones people care about. (Their best option was still a movie where the Samvengers go to fight doom and all lose/die and then the Thunderbolts have to defend earth, but obviously my fondness for the Thunderbolts is not shared by the general audience.) -

Wow- you aren't wrong, that's straight up a sword. 18034 would fit pretty well, if he has it in the sets I bet they'll use that. The rifle I doubt we get anything unique for, lego hasn't given us a new star wars blaster since 2011 and this one looks pretty close to some real hunting rifles, which lego likes to shy away from. (Which is a shame for two mandalorian armor bearers now- both Mando and Boba have stocks/combs on the rear of their weapon that no official lego parts represent well.) For a custom I'd suggest 99809 in dark brown with a gunmetal hilt, which isn't the right shape, but at least has a stock of some kind and the right colors. Poor Boba can't even get that. We should be close to at least general set name/descriptions, if not details. We usually get the general May info the year before, even if there's some confusion such as Jango vs Bo this year, or the Jabba's throne room in 2023. -

That one would be excellent, and I hope we see it in 2026 or 2027. (We've technically had the winter soldier polybag but I don't know if I'd count that as a "set") The cover recreations would be difficult. A lot of classic comic covers either have basically no background to make a build for (Avengers #4) or would require forced-perspective building that would be tough to pull off in the "black base with builds extending from it" epic moment format (Amazing Fantasy #15). Believe me, I'd love more comic sets, but I don't think cover recreations would work super well in the epic moment format. -

Yeah, I don't think we need a new scale, and I don't think we need to break the $200 seal on star wars playsets yet (though it is interesting to note that both the 2000 and 2011 ANH falcons, adjusted for inflation, are more expensive than the most recent playscale falcon). I think if anything the falcon could use a slight downsize at playscale, I think it could reasonably be produced at $150ish. And my point is if they've done a wave with 4 anniversary sets and GWPs for the 40th of ROTJ (Plus other sets throughout the year, but we can attribute those to what it normally would have gotten, even if Boushh seems pretty specific), and the 50th is more special (and again in this case being marketed a lot more and a lot earlier on, and receiving a much wider and more special theatrical release then "like four theatres in the US and one or two internationally are gonna play the disney+ standard version of the movie" like the last couple), at what point is there not at least a good chance that ANH will get "much"? We get sets, but aside from the 18+ stuff the average is just over 1 set a year for the post-sequel era. And look at what those sets were- over half were either remakes of things we hadn't had in some time (First system ISD in a decade) or fully new sets (Tantive IV boarding playset, Yavin, Obi-Wan's hut). Even with the issue of the smartslop "resetting the clock" on stuff like a system cantina, falcon, or advanced, there are still sets that haven't been on shelves in ages like the rebel Y-wing, Sandcrawler, Droid Escape Pod, and Imperial Landing Craft, or sets that have never existed (a number of interior death star scenes have never been made as playsets, we still lack a Bantha- a buildable one would be perfect for a $10-15 set- and while I personally don't see it, there are people who have suggested Luke's homestead, a Mos Eisley Spaceport/Ronto set, etc) -

As I've said, you can argue that something wasn't technically a "full" wave, but we've had pretty significant coverage/anniversary dominated waves before for the movies, and even the LSW anniversary last year wasn't just one big dedicated wave, the anniversary sets were split across March, May, August, and October release waves. It's arguing semantics when the point has always been "significant set coverage" and not literally "Every set released on the same day being an anniversary set". And, of course, as I've also said, ANH's 50th is getting more fanfare than the other movie anniversaries, or stuff like the "clone wars era" anniversary thing. We ALREADY have official star wars media hyping it up, we already have the logo, and obviously the big announcement that they've got the original cut and are returning it to theatres for the first time, and it's not even 2026 yet, much less the actual anniversary year. I don't think it's all that unlikely that we get significant coverage and maybe even some anniversary figs for ANH50. Honestly one of the things I'd really like is a standard system OT falcon. Given the "smart" falcon is just over half the price of what the system falcons have been getting to, I think it'd be OK to have both at once. My main hope is a UCS Tantive IV, but a system sandcrawler would also be very, very nice. I wouldn't mind a new Y-wing given it'll have been a decade, and packaging it with a TIE advanced wouldn't be unwelcome and could help get around the smartslop slot issue. As for figures, I've spoken about my desire for spacetroopers before, but the big one would be the Rebel Honor Guard. Of course there's plenty of cantina aliens we still need but the smartslop has damaged our chances of that. -

Re @Darth_Bane13 and @BrickPrick's conversation, while it is true we don't have precedent for special figures for ANH's 50th (though I'd again point out, 50 is a pretty big anniversary and ANH is what started it all, I wouldn't rule it out), the "we haven't had a full wave specifically for a film anniversary" is really skating by on that full wave part. ROTJ for example had a wave in May 2023 (as opposed to the other ROTJ sets elsewhere in the year) with 4 ROTJ anniversary sets, some special anniversary bricks with them, and even multiple ROTJ GWPs. It just also happened to have a couple of Mando sets because it was the closest release wave to the end of that third season. Sure, maybe a Jedi 3 set or something releases on the same day, I don't think anyone here saying they want a wave of ANH sets would be severely disappointed if there was a wave containing a number of ANH sets and then also one or two other sets. You can argue the specifics of "oh, it's technically not a full wave", but come on. If they gave ROTJ that much in 2023 for it's 40th, they'll give the start of it all at least that much in 2027 for it's FIFTIETH. I mean, even with the comparison to the actual LSW anniversaries, it's important to remember that even the 2024 anniversary wave wasn't an "anniversary wave", and the special sets were spread throughout the year, often releasing alongside non-anniversary sets. And, to speak to the importance of A New Hope's 50th, disney's ALREADY hyping it up. I can't remember the last time a star wars anniversary was hyped up well over a year in advance- we already have the logo for the anniversary, the original cut of the movie has finally been found/reassembled and is coming to theatres, this isn't just your stock "X movie is Y years old" -

Elite ball knowledge Though I think in this case it could simply be represented by an ANH anniversary wave in, say, may 2027, with january and august being more standard variance waves for the saga as a whole. There are two points missing here: 1. While not a full wave, all of these DID get above-average coverage (with the exception of AOTC, but there was some evidence via leakers that the AT-TE was planned on being an AOTC set and swapped late to give us P2 Cody). 2. The 50th of the whole reason we have a franchise is a marginally bigger event than, say, ten years of TFA, no? -

It also implies that, to some extent, there may be justification for it. Now I maintain there's literally nothing for lego to lose and everything to gain from just throwing JL members into all the bat-vehicles they make, but if the Supes mech is retiring that early it implies that even in a year where he had a movie come out, the character isn't moving enough merch to sell sets alone. I know people sometimes like to attribute hidden agendas to lego- they hate the star wars prequels or whatever- but their motive is always going to be profit. If the superman set was selling well, they wouldn't retire it so early. If I remember correctly there's an interview where Nathan Fillion speaks to the volume of F-bombs he dropped in a single scene of Lanterns, which makes me pretty confident the show will have a rating that Lego won't make sets for. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, exactly. They didn't critically injure Tony, just damaged his suit, and if they really were bloodthirsty and trying to kill him... why stop? And yes- as much of a mess as TFATWS was, I can't remember it ever trying to imply that Bucky knew what he was doing when he killed people while brainwashed, just that he personally felt guilty (which is understandable) and that he needed to show the public he wasn't a brainwashed assassin (again, understandable). -For one thing, I don't think it's fair to say, what, that Steve should have let Tony kill Bucky because despite it being very clear in Civil War that he was brainwashed and not in control of himself when he did, a completely different project a half-decade later says something else about whether or not it was Bucky's fault- that's a TFATWS issue, not a Civil War issue- but also, if I'm remembering the show correctly, it was less that he was being forced to make amends and more that he personally still felt guilty. Whether or not he was in control of himself, his body did those things and that's gonna mess him up mentally. It doesn't mean it was his fault, but it can also be true that he wants to make up for when his body was used as a weapon. I also never said I was faulting tony for holding bucky responsible- his reaction was understandable in the moment, just that he started the fight, which is objectively true. -Yes, steve was absolutely in the right to prevent tony from killing bucky. Again, Tony's reaction was understandable, but Bucky was brainwashed so killing him would not have been justified. I don't care who you think should rank higher on Steve's friendship list, it was the right move for him to prevent Tony from murdering Bucky. And he literally did stop at incapacitating him! If they "quite happily would have killed him", why didn't they kill him? Why'd they leave? They'd just incapacitated Tony's offensive capabilities by damaging the Arc Reactor, it's not like Tony could have stopped them at that point. -There's also nothing to support the assumption that Tony would have just died there. As @Coryo points out, his suit still had some form of mobility and he had a phone on him. The rest just seems like general Steve hate that isn't really relevant to this assertion that the siberia fight is Steve and Bucky jumping Tony or something. But in the end whatever you personally think about the Siberia fight, I doubt it would prevent lego from making an epic moment set on it at some point down the line. -

I'm also concerned for the 2HY, though moreso for the contents of the system sets rather than whether or not we'll have many. 2HY always has a larger proportion of system sets than 1HY, so we should be safe there... it's just that at least 2 of the 2HY set slots are definitely going to be $40+ sets that are somehow in lego's mind clone battle packs. I've been saying this since the anniversary was first brought up- Mcquarrie concept art minifigures. Vader with a new helmet and blue mcquarrie-style lightsaber. Luke with that breathing mask/yellow saber/armor. The Mcquarrie stormtrooper with new helmet, saber, and shield. Mcquarrie Chewbacca (which lego wouldn't even need a new mold for if they put a Zeb in the TMAG sets), Mcquarrie C-3PO, there are so many options. I personally would like some A New Hope sets for the A New Hope 50th anniversary. I get that the smart bricks kind of hinder some of the options, but as I put in the wishlist thread awhile back I think there's plenty they could do. If I see the 50th anniversary of the whole reason we have a franchise to begin with and it's occupied by $45 clone battle packs, I'm gonna lose my mind. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Mandalorianknight replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Who? But seriously, I don't think it's all that likely even if it is a bionicle series (which I also wouldn't find all that likely unfortunately). The main G2 cast are the main G1 cast, and given that there's only 12 slots I doubt we'd get multiple versions of the characters. Assumably lego would go with the more iconic G1 Mata designs. It is the 25th anniversary of bionicle next year. I think it's unlikely it will be a bionicle specific series (though part of that is me trying not to get my hopes up) but there is indeed a special exciting bonkle birthday reason. -

It was a tough call, since there are so many unlicensed IPs, but I was trying to stick with a main hero from each, and since not only Johnny but Pippen have been remade recently, I decided to go with other options. Though it's always possible Sam Sinister comes in the actual series if it really is a celebration of lego original IPs. I guess my thought process was more original lego IPs, hence why Castle, Space, Town, Pirates, and Western are all absent. And of course any licensed or potentially licensed figures. And as @Lyichir says, minidolls or skeleton/robot style figures seems not to come in CMFs, though we did get whatever the heck that F1 theme was. -

You could easily also do something like "Tribal Robot" or "Fire Mecha" Two options I see: Some sort of lego legacy wave, such as (using the "tahu bionicle" naming convention the leaker went with): 1. Aquanaut Aquazone (female) with new two-piece dive suit helmet/mask, as well as flippers, a compass, and harpoon 2. Chief Rock Raiders with new drill mold. 3. Nick Galidor with molded cannon gauntlet arm attachment and a small molded shark/bike thing. 4. Slizer Roborider: sort of like the racecar driver guy or cowboy, there's a large waist attachment piece representing a roborider bike (Swamp) with a minifigure representing a slizer (Jungle) 5. Tahu Bionicle with molded mask and fire sword 6. Pepper Roni with skateboard and pizza 7. Kai Ninjago in his pilot season design. The classic Sword of Fire mold is included alongside a new ninja wrap with the fabric ends trailing off like in early promotional art, as well as a new piece attaching to his hand to represent a small flame wrapping around it. 8. Ashlee Galaxy Squad with blaster and molded alien buggoid 9. Laval Chima in his original design. A mostly faithful translation of his blue outfit with the cape, but the hair/face/crown piece is updated to represent the show design, as is the armor piece (which appears more like shoulder pads in the show) 10. Calia Ultra Agents with a white stud shooter and alternate pink hair alongside a new molded helmet and torso armor piece representing her hardlight armor. 11. Macy Nexo Knights with a new molded helmet and armor piece alongside a brick-built mace and shield 12. Parker Hidden Side (New combined Hair/Beanie/Headphones mold and a ghost mold with a 1x2 tile representing her phone.) I tried to keep this as realistic as possible with a reasonable (though not exactly 1:1 given I don't think the slizers and roboriders have gender) male/female ratio, varied colors, and varied archtypes ranging from close to civilian, to sci-fi, to more medieval, etc, with robotic and animalistic characters as well (A lot more unlikely) a full bionicle wave, something like: 1. Toa Tahu with molded mask and fire sword 2. Toa Lewa with molded mask and air axe 3. Toa Pohatu with molded mask, feet extensions, and the bb-8 body in reddish brown being used as a rock 4. Toa Kopaka with molded mask and ice falchion (the shield can be the generic rounded shield printed to resemble Kopaka's) 5. Toa Gali with molded mask and hooks 6. Toa Onua with molded mask and claws 7. Toa Takanuva with molded mask and spearhead 8. Makuta Teridax with molded mask and pickaxe head 9. Rahkshi with molded head/back piece and molded spear tips. 10. Toa Vakama with molded mask and spare molded mask of time, uses the crossbow with 1x1 tiles printed to look like kanoka discs 11. Toa Hahli with molded clawsword, mask, and wings, uses a stud shooter as a cordak blaster. 12. Toa Ignika with molded mask of life in both silver and gold as well as a molded sword and small buildable hoverboard -

A minifigure of Tahu Bionicle, of course! This has been a subject of debate in the community for some time, and while I've always hated the attitude a lot of people had that "real" fans only wanted the large ball-jointed bionicles and not system (either minifig scale or buildable), it's important to note that it's not like a CMF fig replaces a hypothetical bionicle revival line. Lego didn't go "ok, we could bring back all the G1 molds for a new theme, or we could put a tahu into a CMF". Bionicle fans aren't losing or missing out on anything by Tahu being added to the CMF, it's an unequivocable win. -

Yup- they just need to bump the price of the duel sets up to $25 (Ideally with some more pieces and/or a third fig where necessary to make up for it) and we're golden. Exactly. As you were saying about not wanting competing products, it just doesn't make sense to have two different army-builder sublines at close price points out at the same time. My guess was they were trying to determine which whether shrinking battle packs for the same price or keeping them the same with a higher price would do better, and between the fan backlash and the sales failure of the hoth pack ended up going with the latter. They really are, it's unfortunate that they aren't doing well and I'm not entirely sure why, unless it really just comes down to kids overwhelmingly preferring vehicles to playsets. They're well-built, have a number of interesting figures, etc. Fate has so much potential, I've been saying since TROS that KOTOR is the best chance disney has to revitalize star wars as a whole, and the fact that this new game takes place at the end of the old republic gives me some hope that they're saving the meat of that era for movies. And the fact that the KOTOR director is behind this game gives me some hope that it could actually be good. Like I said, the only one that I think really works is the death star, just due to how many different things can be done with it as we saw this year with the $1000 set. -

I think there'd be a good chance at getting a fully kitted out Raimi Goblin and a new battle-damaged mask for Tobey in an Epic Moment set for that scene, since there's no other figures to put in and they could re-use Tobey's torso. The other Raimi epic moment has a new set of legs, two new torsos, and two new heads, so it's not impossible, especially since I think you could get some more use out of a Raimi Goblin figure. Yup. The Epic Moment subline, city-builder subline and the reintegration of the $10 price point are the three best possible things to happen to this theme IMO, and really puts lego marvel in a strong position for the future. The former two are sets that should appeal to kids while also meaning adults actually have a useful build for their displays instead of the spider-helicopter, and for the latter, who cares if you don't want the build, it's only $10 for the two figures! The slow march to kill off soft goods has been a real issue for lego as a whole. I've been sounding the alarm on this for years, I remember when people said I was being ridiculous, but almost every character who would have had soft goods a decade ago now often relies on rubber (batman, thor, loki, strange- though I'll give them strange, and only strange, because his cape is meant to stand on it's own-, magneto, mysterio, hobgoblin, even the new superman in his releases outside the mech), just prints (all clones with kamas, raimi goblin, arguably Endor Leia), or entirely missing (scarlet witch). But yes, in the case of the NWH final battle set, it's understandable they couldn't fit a soft goods part in there given how many new figures they had to make. Though I would have been OK if they'd omitted Ned and saved a print instead of giving him an exclusive torso. You kind of do- you're omitting that the fight started with Tony trying to kill Bucky because he finds out that he killed his parents while brainwashed. The way you describe it is as if Cap and Bucky jump him when in reality Cap's just trying to prevent him from murdering his best friend. And while yes, there's no explicit onscreen scene of Cap seeing Panther or his jet, calling Ross, etc, between the fact that Tony's the guy with all the tech and plans and that Steve's constantly upheld as a paragon of morality, I don't think it's all that hard to assume he either saw T'challa or his jet, called Ross, or just reasonably assumed that Tony had a failsafe or backup in case of his suit being damaged. To be fair, teammate fights are nothing unique to marvel studios, or marvel comics, or even superheroes- it's a pretty common trope in most action media. And while there are times when it's pretty stupid, the Avengers one seems fairly reasonable (This is a Thor who still doesn't understand earth well who's just abducted Loki from Shield custody against a still-learning-to-play-well-with-others Tony and a newly defrosted Cap. None of the three of them are in the right headspace or personality to be trying to peacefully resolve it at the time and it started with a guy they've never met before abducting the superhuman terrorist they just captured), as does the airport battle (Tony's team is trying to capture Steve's team- which is their legal duty under the sokovia accords- and Steve's team is trying to avoid being captured and make it to the hanger, because they don't want to go to jail and want to stop Zola from unleashing the other super-soldiers.)
