I'll be honest with you, I never got beast wars. Might just be because I'm too young to have grown up with the show, but they just feel like a departure from actual transformers to me. Like, I know robots that turn into trucks are silly enough as is, but there's no reason to become an animal. Who are you disguising yourself from? What tactical advantage does being a T-rex gain you? And then the fact that Optimus Primal transforms from a gorrila to a humanoid. He's barely transforming. What difference is this making for him. That said, would a big robot monke set be awesome? yes.

40580 Buildable Tahu: Bionicle returns in 2023!
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Action Figures
UCS Tahu Mata when? I think this is the perfect GWP, and wouldn't mind if this was exactly how G3 looked. Tahu manages to still look imposing and bad-ss at a smaller scale, and Takua is a perfect Mctoran figure articulation and look wise. I dunno. Those look a little too small to me, a bit goofy (Onua especially, something about him just looks weird.) Takanuva on the other hand... while I'm still glad we ended up with Tahu and Takua, that prototype is an absolute unit. That is my hope as well. If it's true, I'm getting one with Optimus Prime to build, buying one off a friend's order to keep boxed, and probably bricklinking a third so I can have one on my desk and one in my home. -

For $5, not bad. When's it come out? -
It's not like they're using meth. it's science-fictiony enough that I think they'll be ok. One thing I'd love to see is a full transformers theme. Sets sized similarly to the marvel sets ($25-30 for standard autobots and decepticons, maybe larger packs for optimus+trailer or all the constructicons). The UCS optimus is great, but I can't be alone in thinking a theme would do excellently. That said, it'd be pretty similar to a hypothetical bionicle revival, so maybe I should keep my mouth shut.

[REVIEW] iDisplayIt - 75313 AT-AT Display Case
Mandalorianknight replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
He was on hoth, but yeah, he didn't participate in the battle, and he definately never encountered an AT-ST. I think they included snowy chewbacca to include a new semi-desirable variant instead of the billionth hoth han. -

Don't get me wrong I think it's totally likely sonic could become evergreen, but I think it's an expansion of the gaming theme as opposed to something they're pitting against other film themes. Depends on how the sets themselves sell. The movie ended up doing great, but at least around me the sets haven't done well. -

All I'm saying is that all of those were animated films geared towards younger audiences (and about half of them flopped pretty hard anyway). Indy is definately different. I still think that out of Indy, Avatar, and LOTR, at least one will become evergreeen. (I just hope it's not avatar.) -

Welcome to eurobricks! Don't want to get off topic, but yeah, that should work pretty well. I know we won't get images for some time, but I hope we at least get that diorama info sorted soon. I'd like to know if it's jabba's throne room, the DS2 throne room, or both. -

That doesn't make it worth it, though, IMO. A show shouldn't exist as set-up. Same here. Though I feel like even if sales lower, they'll keep em. Lego's one of the biggest toy companies in the world right now, and at this point the brownie points for being "environmentally friendly" with the packing is probably worth enough to them to offset any losses from it. And they'll probably also bank on most people eventually succumbing and just buying boxes. ??? What exactly do you mean? DC's The Batman sets are the most recent system sets for that theme (besides the 4+ batcycle, but I assume that's not what you meant.) If you mean the 1966 batmobile, yeah, in 2021 they released quite a few batman sets on older films, but up until that point they released a wealth of comic based sets anyway. -

I feel like Michael in the Godfather part 3. "Just When I Thought I Was Out, They Pull Me Back In!". I feel like 2021 had a few solid projects alongside some rough ones, and then 2022 was just an overflowing pipeline of sludge with only 1 or 2 good projects. I really hate this quantity over quality approach, (what I'm worried about most is that they're gonna continue to break Daredevil's character in the new show), hopefully they'll fix it. I know they're delaying some projects, but even the amount of 2023 stuff feels too much, and there's just so much sludge still on it's way. (There's stuff like Echo where it's got potential but is still a weird choice, stuff like Ironheart and Vison where it feels like they're just trying to use connections to established characters, and stuff like Agatha where I have absolutely no idea what they're thinking.). But then we get stuff like NWH, or like you say, how Quantamania seems to be shaping up, and it's really annoying because so long as some of their projects are good, they can keep pumping out sludge with no consequence. -

Definately recommend Outer Rim. It's complex enough to play with people who play this sort of thing for fun, but also simple and fast enough that you can get family/ other friends to play it as well. Plus, what other game lets you play as everyone's favorite characters, Ketsu Onyo and Black Krrsantan? Luckily, rebellion's just got one expansion pack, a fun-but-not-essential rogue one kit (though the base game itself currently goes for over $100, so...), but yeah a lot of fantasy flight stuff is like that. You buy the base game for cheap and then realize 90% of the game is in expansions. Thanks! I think the project might be dead in the water at this point, but I've been planning out how to make an updated version once this one retires. -

I agree with your wider point, but I will definately bring this up if she shows up in the CMF. Really the best case scenario is What If figures as the entire CMF, with the disney+ shows just actually each getting a set or two. This shouldn't be too much of an issue anymore either, now that they seem to have re-oriented to only 3 shows a year. -

Very nice! It really does make the set present much cleaner. The background images add a lot to the feel of the display too. I couldn't help but notice you don't have any of the fantasy flight Star Wars games in your collection there, you should check out Outer Rim and Rebellion. -

I suppose they have half a year or so, but do you think they'll design new figures? (We also don't know if lego knows yet, since the delay hasn't been announced, only rumored. I feel like if they told the merch companies about the delay we'd have some more leaks that it was delayed by now) How long before the CMF release did we know the Gamora episode wasn't coming last time? -

It's a large building where most of the scenes are just characters sitting around and talking, with the only action scene being "anakin commits genocide and kills a bunch of kids." Now I personally think any movie or show content is fair game for SW, but knowing lego, they'd never make a set of that scene, or even include 501st troopers in a jedi temple set. Pentaki has a fairly iconic scene taking place in it. I'd wager more people remember the arena scene more fondly (and just more in general) than "the council sits around discussing X". And as a smaller point, it's much easier for them to put clones in Pentaki, being the attack of the clones and all (And the aforementioned fact that the clones and jedi temple are associated with the youngling-murder, something lego probably wouldn't make a set for for better or worse), and by far the bestselling prequel sets are those in which clone troopers are a focal point. Does it mean the bestselling D2C would be kamino? No. As with the temple, the movies don't have many iconic or dynamic scenes there. But it is a point in favor of the arena. I'd love a Jedi Council diorama, but I don't think the temple will ever receive a set on the scale of an MBS. I totally agree. Couldn't have said it better myself. -
DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
No offense, but this comes off as kinda pretentious and also has a pretty big hole in it: books are a lot harder to make merchandise off of than movies, since they usually lack a visual component. A fair bit harder to make merch off a only a written description of something, and it'll clash with what people saw in their heads while reading. -

They might change it for the movie, but in the comics I'm pretty sure he doesn't need/use a ship to travel through the cosmos. -

Man I feel bad to keep going over this, because I know from all your posts you really want an MBS jedi temple, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon. We'll probably get some of the remaining OT sets first (Jabba's palace or barge, endor, Yavin, maybe a real Hoth), or some more fitting prequel sets like Pentaki. I don't think there were any reliable rumors about those releasing just based on the fact that we usually don't know what the 2HY MBS is anywhere near that early on, but they do make sense as some pretty clear options for the next MBS set. -

Cowl? Definately, and I totally agree it should be rectified in the sequel sets. Armor.... I dunno. I feel like it would make him look really bulky, and this batman feels like the lightest and leanest we've had in live-action. Totally off topic, but I wonder what the title of the second film will be. I can't see it being "the batman 2", but I also can't really think of a subtitle that wouldn't sound cheesy ("The Batman: waters of gotham" or something) considering how grounded and dark the films are. My current guess is it'll be "The Batman: Chapter 2", but I was way off the money with my guess of "Indiana Jones and the Race Against Time" for indy 5, so we'll see. The movies have been the big moneymaker for marvel, and DC's film universe is a mess. -

The $10 4+ sets have mutiple builds. The Shang Chi $30 set has multiple builds. 300 pieces can easily be used for multiple builds. No idea how they'd do his planet-ship thing at $35, but I could see them doing a section of the lab. Course, it could also be a ravager bird or something. Maybe a real Abilisk. -

I believe it retired earlier than that, like early-mid 2021, which leads me to believe that either whatever was supposed to replace it was replaced with the Razor Crest or they just don't have something in line to replace it. The death star used to be special because it was a massive playset, but MBS sets have filled the gap of "large location", and we really don't get SW "playset" locations much at all anymore. Last one I can think of is the 2020 throne room. -

Same. Quantamania is looking like a legitimately good story about time and missing your family, and I certainly wouldn't mind a set with that core ant-family and Kang, who's seeming like an awesome villain. I love this change from the comics where his primary attack has gone from futuristic technology to just "beats the s**t out of you". All that calculation and scheming is so much more threatening when you see the violence he's capable of without all his fancy toys. Like if someone put Rocky in an iron man suit. My bad, I totally misread that. I agree that he probably should be smaller, but I doubt he will. Lego loves oversized stuff. Good, failing to read every single comment is a horrific sin. As you can see above, I NEVER misread stuff. -

I mean, they're bad guys. IMO it's much better than acting like they don't exist. It's also a huge draw for the sets for many people that they can get lego soldiers. Yeah, I like it.
