DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Yup. Reducing my expectations from the already fairly low "Keaton with standard bat-cowl, Flash, and supergirl" to just the first two figs. -

This is true, I believe in Ashnflash's video he said he got a parts pack like the batman or power burst ones. -

That was very annoying to me as well. Why not just make him fully venomized? -

Really weird that the Calendar is leaking this early for multiple themes. That said, I like the ewok, it's a very nice figure. -

I mean, we knew about Kang from at least early 2021 (IIRC a hollywood reporter report saying he was in quantumania came out well before Loki), I highly doubt they were gonna hide him. Modok, maybe. -

Yeah, the test screenings have all said it's REALLY good, so I'm really excited for it. Not a fan of Gunn anymore (His first couple things I saw of his felt unique and different and then it just felt progressively more nihilistic across the movies until peacemaker, which I've downright disliked) Look, I'm glad we're getting more lego batman, but there's a non-zero chance that they just do not care. Good point. -

Ah, dang. You sent me down a rabbit hole of "but isn't this just black flash" and I went too deep. I kept going way after I found out dark flash's role and I saw some spoilers that I kinda wish I hadn't seen. But the film honestly sounds like the best DCEU movie. Might even beat Snyder Cut for me personally, and definately will for most people (I just really like snyder cut. It feels almost like a mythical story rather than a superhero movie, and it manages to take itself really seriously while also not being remotely grounded, which is not a combination we've really ever had before.) But yeah, you're right, it's definately a separate character. That would be nice, though I doubt it'll happen. Could also just be a larger batmobile than we're used to. -

With a play feature to drop indy out of it. However the movie turns out, there's definately some good set material. -

*Side note: Are we allowed to talk about black flash? I thought he was a spoiler, but I guess he is getting marketing* I don't particularly care if we get a civilian Barry or not, but his Batman/flash suit would be awesome. Zod would be nice too, the set needs a villain after all, though ofc they could just slot in Black Flash. Apparently the new Batfleck suit is blue/gray? Which means it'd also be excellent to get. Here's my guess: Most likely: Keatonman with the standard cowl and re-used torso, Main Flash, Supergirl (new torso, re-used head, no leg print). Better, but slightly less likely: Keatonman with the standard cowl and re-used torso, Main Flash, and 2 of either Supergirl, Zod, Black Flash, or Barry 2. My personal want would be Keaton and the 3 flashes, but no way they don't put supergirl in the set. Very unlikely: Getting 5 or more figs, or a batcycle side build with Batfleck. Not a minifigure. A construction Alfred like the new ant-man. -

Yup. They made the move of spreading out 1hy and making it mostly non-system sets (nothing against it, while the helmets aren't for me they seem to do well, and I've been loving the dioramas), which means that august wave is where most of our hopes are for the sets. If these are mechs, only one line is going to survive. Both lines are primarily impulse purchases/gifts (can you even call $15 an impulse purchase? It's the smallest set, but its not like the $5 sets they used to have) that have a major draw of getting whatever figure it is in a cheap set. They overlap eachother's territory. Sorry, good point. You sometimes have info you hint at here. You don't run obnoxious social media accounts constantly claiming you know what the next 8 marvel movies are about and backtracking when your info is inevitably wrong. -

First thing I noticed as well. They're really pushing that face mold past it's limits. Yes. 100% Violence is completely justified, we didn't get the plastic figure we wanted. Exactly. If there'd been a Kang minifig, I would have been ok with the set, weird face notwithstanding. As is, it's a construction figure that one of the designers was nice enough to get a Wasp microfig placed into. -

Leave the star wars transformers out of this. He's a leaker. This may be a very, very interesting summer wave. -

The first MCU Kang was in Loki, wasn't he? SPOILERS FOR QUANTAMANIA, maybe. Leaks can always be wrong I mean, it is kind of a massive miss to not include one of the most hyped-up villains ever in the only set for his debut film. Not to mention, as others have said, it'd be nice to have an accurate wasp. And it's been 3 years since the last (quantum suit) ant-man minifigure, and 4 since the last standard variant. It's not like black panther or iron man where they're in plenty of saga or comic sets at the same time. -

If he escapes, would Grant Gustin be able to stop him, or would he try to create a new Flashpoint where his crimes are never discovered? (Also, still sad that this movie isn't called the flashpoint paradox. It'd be nice to have a superhero film with a name other than just "hero name: subtitle") We do need a new one, ideally one for Keaton in the flash set (though we probably will just get another Balebrow with the 1989 batmobile batman's torso), but DEFINATELY we need one for Battinson. Makes no sense, especially given how different his cowl is from the others. It'd be nice if they included both it and a standard cowl, but they won't. I'd think we'll see Zod, just so there's an antagonist. Though I suppose we could see since despite his supposed appearance essentially just being a cameo, he seems to be getting more merch than Zod. Edit: At the same time though, so it's possible lego skips out. Their family-friendliness scale has been all over the place recently. -

I will not tolerate this slight to ZSJL There are more batman sets coming, are there not? I doubt they're all based on Keaton. As someone who didn't get to pick up the '89 batmobile, I think I might get the new one. The whole situation around the movie continues to drive me crazy, but I don't think buying a lego set with Miller's character in it is endorsing his decision to become the IRL reverse flash. We won't get it. We've got to fit him into the batmobile, after all. -

Yeah, I asked this somewhere else, but wasn't that "BS we thought we were done with" qoute about marvel? I swear I remember people thinking it was the return of super jumpers over here. We are still getting a set, are we not? It just doesn't have minifigs. It's a mind-boggling decision not to produce a Kang fig, but given that the past 2 ant-man films only had one set, along with other solo movies like black widow, captain marvel, etc, I don't think there's any reason to panic. The MCU's going to continue to dominate the box office and receive tons of tie-in sets at least until secret wars... despite any drop in quality of the films and shows themselves. -

Doubt it's sequel sets. The price points of those 3-4 cheapest sets for a summer wave, that aren't battle packs, really makes me think it's a gimmick. On the other hand, I can't see it being Action Battle either. Even back in 2019 the cheapest sets they did were pretty small for $30. At $15, we'd get, like, one cannon and a tiny build. Plus, those sets sold horribly. No idea what else it could be though. Like I said below, it might be a misunderstanding, in which case it's a new gimmick. Wait, hold on, didn't they say that for marvel too? (If so, mystery solved on that one, it's the buildable figures) Did they say it for both themes, or is this a misunderstanding? -

Isn't like half the wave made of gimmick sets of some type? Luckily they can't be those stupid buildable figures the marvel sets are doing (due to being cheaper), but my money's on the horrifying return of Action Battle. No one's ever really gone. I'll be honest I don't get the flick missile hate. They aren't any more egregious than spring or stud shooters to me, and the projectiles at least look like missiles. (sure, they make 0 sense for lasers, but by that logic stud shooters only work when representing stun blasts or geonosian weapons.) -

Peter Jackson beat you to the punch on that one. At this point I just think lego has some sort of aversion to the Lizard. He's not exactly obscure, and we've never had him in a comic set. -

If we're going off the "lego procedurally generates sets from eurobricks keywords" approach that led to the UCS dobby sock, then I forgive you, because it'll be my fault that every figure in the next LOTR wave will be Faramir. (which I see as an absolute win, but, y'know. I can see how some may be upset about not getting any other figs. Very excited about the NWH set. That's a buy no matter what. Everything else... eh. Can't imagine cap or wolverine will look good, I don't think the buildible figures have ever worked for non-fully helmeted humans. Venomized groot is super random. And like everyone else has said, how good the BW set will be depends on the figs. -

Almost all of your list entires are great choices (I will never understand why people want the treadwell tank, but at this point enough people have put it in these lists that there's clearly market demand), but the ones I quoted stuck out to me as "Lego definately does these within the next 3 years". The gunship too, although while I'd love it to be mandalore based I don't know that it will be. OT CMF: 1. Darth Vader (Arm printing, waistcape, dual-molded helmet with red eyes): Lightsaber 2. Rebel Trooper (new helmet mold, extra torso to be Rebel Friend): blaster 3. Sandtrooper (Black and Orange pauldron options, arm printing, side leg printing): blaster rifle, staff. 4. Snaggletooth (new head mold, red jumpsuit): blaster pistol, drink 5. Luke Skywalker-Yavin jacket (dual-molded legs, side leg printing): new medal mold, lightsaber. 6. General Veers (dual-molded legs): blaster pistol, vader hologram 7. Boba Fett (arm printing, dual-molded arms, side leg printing, cloth, pretty much everything): new blaster mold. 8. Zuckuss (new cloth pieces): double-barreled blaster piece 9. Chewbacca with C-3PO (New chewie mold with studs on the back. A net connects to the studs to hold 3PO's head and printed tiles representing other parts in): new molded bowcaster 10. Princess Leia-Bespin Jumpsuit (dual-molded legs): Blaster Pistol 11. Lando Calrissian-disguised (new helmet mold): staff, blaster. 12. Emperor Palpatine (skirt piece instead of legs, new cloth): lightning elements, a small chair build. 13. Royal Guard (skirt piece instead of legs): force pike 14. Chief Chirpa (new mold for head/hood/etc): chieftan's staff 15. Han Solo- Endor (cloth trenchcoat like on the Highwayman CMF figure): blaster pistol 16. Chase Figure: Force Ghost Obi-Wan (transparent arms, legs, head, and hair, medium azure torso, hands, and hips): Lightsaber
