  1. It could also be a UCS ornithopter, in that it'd be actual figure scale as opposed to system scale. I agree about both of those. My guess is we get a new torso and leg print for the stillsuit, maybe a slightly different one for Kynes, and a new face print or two for Paul or Leto, with re-uses for the others. As for Kynes, they can always give her a stillsuit hood if they don't want to expend a new mold.
  2. Unlikely, given it's releasing in the Icons line, but there's always a chance. β€œGiven the right lever, you can move a planet.” There lies a chance, however slim, that we could change lego's minds by making this set a bestseller. I do honestly think lego's using some of these icons sets to test the waters for a larger theme. I've been guessing since the first rumblings about LOTR, Indy, etc, that one would be made into a full theme, and it's always possible that Dune is another possibility, slim is at may be in comparison. (Though saying all that, I'm still shocked Avatar got a full theme out the gate whilst Indy got a pitiful handful of sets and LORD OF THE RINGS of all things only got one.) Same here, man. My list is a little different, but the same in catching-up-iness. In rough order (Though I'll likely get some smaller ones than Rivendell even though it's higher on the list just due to the price): Ornithopter, Ghost, Rivendell, No Way Home, Yavin, E-wing dogfight, Gunship, T-6 shuttle... man, even after all that I still want to scrounge up a decent figscale Slave One (Have UCS and the tiny 2021 version, but no system one) and buy some parts for some digital Mocs I'd like to make real.
  3. Not to say I told you so, but... i told you so! the minifigure count is excellent too. They could easily have just put in Paul and another fig and called it a day. It's not enough for the main cast, or even the main Atrides cast, but I'm just happy we're getting dune in general, and that we're likely getting Leto and Gurney. Same here, at $150 they should be able to make something really special. Maybe if this does well, we could see more Dune later on. I did! Between this, LOTR, the X-men, and Indy, I'm getting everything I ever could have dreamed of set-wise. If only Optimus had heralded a 2023 transformers theme... But alas, it's not like I'm able to afford all this anyway. That said, the Ornithopter is going in my collection even if I have to sell someone's kidney for it. This in all likelihood is the only Dune set we'll ever get, I'm not passing up this chance.
  4. Dune is finally receiving a set with 10327 Ornithopter! 10327 is $150 with 1369 pieces, 4-5 minifigures, and an early November release. If I had to guess, we'll get Paul Atrides, Duke Leto Atrides, Gurney Hallack, and Doctor Kynes to represent the main characters of that Ornithopter flight. The set is selling as part of the Icons theme, meaning it's unlikely to be meant for multiple sets, but if it sells well, maybe we will get more. Which is good, because even if we get a fifth figure, we'll still be missing all but one of Duncan Idaho, Stilgar, Chani, Lady Jessica, any villain, and any generic soldier.
  5. He's one of the original 6 and definately a famous one. EXACTLY. You want twelve? Original 6 (though in their most famous outfits, so blue fur beast and whatnot): Professor X, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Angel Newer but extremely popular additions: Wolverine (maybe THE most famous X-man), Storm, Gambit, Rogue Villains: Magneto, Mystique. And that's not counting other notable X-men characters like Jubilee, Cable, other villains (I'm not including the deadpool side of things, but anyone there would of course sell like hotcakes) Now sure, it's possible that on a sheer name-recognition level more people might now have heard the words moon knight or she hulk than iceman or angel, but I don't know if that correlates to them selling better. Like, more people know Hawkeye than anyone else in that CMF, but there's no way he's the most popular from it. Likewise, She-Hulk had by far the most controversial MCU show, and while most of us probably love moon knight the character, most people in general would have just heard of him from the show, which I loved but can recognize isn't exactly Andor or Breaking Bad. As for Iceman, yes. At the very least, people can recognize man made of ice in the same way they can recognize hulk but woman. As for Blorko, you misspelled Doop, who would have been the best inclusion in ANY cmf. Beast is a mainstay in the comics and cartoons, including the 90s one. Definately more popular than Mr Sinister, Jubilee, etc (and Emma Frost, though I'm not sure lego would make one anyway).
  6. I SUMMONED IT! Ornithopter is coming!
  7. Don't think it's a minifigure, I'd guess a minifigure head (with the classic spaceman helmet if I had to guess) on a brick-built body. I think it could be done at a head or two taller than a minifigure. Say Wolvie's got the head and part of the torso, and the other two have rest of torso/arms and waist/legs. On a different note, secret invasion managed to be completely disappointing in the finale. Not that the finale was much worse than the standard marvel show finale, but I was just expecting more from it since the earlier episodes were better, so it drags down the show as a whole for me, much like moon knight. It also opens the biggest "plot thread we'll never see again" since the eternal that's been sticking out of the ocean for years without anyone caring.
  8. Well, here's a slightly more in-depth look at the bounty-hunter ships I thought up. I have to finish the community MOC wishlist first, but I do want to build these: IG-2000 (800ish pcs): contains a cockpit for IG-88, a cell, and an armory with weapons and spare bodies. Comes with IG-88, 2 spare IG-88 bodies, a weequay defector, 2x weequay pirates, and Hondo Ohnaka. -One of Hondo Ohnaka's pirates has defected with plans to give Hondo's business strategies to a competitor, and Hondo would prefer those strategies remain secret. Punishing One (1000ish pcs): cockpit for dengar and one other passenger, a small cell, and a small equipment cache. Comes with Dengar, Mercuial Swift, 2x coruscant underworld police, and a black sun operative. -Coruscant underworld police believe a high-level black sun operative is on level 1313. Significant reward offered for capture or elimination. Hound's tooth (1100ish pcs): cockpit for Bossk and one other passenger, three cells, and an armory. Comes with Bossk, Black Krssantan, 2x wookiee warriors, and 2x Hutt Cartel enforcers. -The Illustrious Jabba orders the capture of two wookiee saboteurs. A greater reward will be given for their capture alive. Mist Hunter (1400ish pcs): cockpit for Zuckuss, 4-Lom, and up to two others, alongside two cells and a small weapons area. Comes with Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Valance, Villachor, 2x Black Sun guards, and Prince Xixor. -Arvak Villachor is no longer part of black sun. The rumors he has stolen Prince Xixor's blackmail cards are false, but a substantial reward is offered for his capture, along with any items he may have alongside him. Slave 1 (1500ish pcs): cockpit for Boba Fett, a lower area with room for 4 figures, and 2 cells. Has a seismic charge holder. Comes with Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Djin Djarren, Migs Mayfield, and Cara Dune.
  9. While I agree that the complaints about the clones are generally extremely overdone, the Kama one is a real issue IMO. It really doesn't look good, and it's not like they don't do cloth waist capes anymore.
  10. 100% agree about those three, I'd love to see them. To be honest, if the justifier can get them, we can get them too. I think the Hound's tooth could be a solid one at the $80-100 price point and if it included some other desirable figs alongside bossk (say, black krssantan), I could see it doing fairly well.
  11. This is your complaint? That the visor isn't an exact match for figures he isn't chronologically seen alongside? To be honest, looking at the leaked images and not the custom fig someone keeps posting next to it, the visor doesn't even seem different from the p1 clones to me. I don't have an issue with the helmet holes- better to finally have a P2 rex that can have a rangefinder- but aside from the kama issue I've already talked about, I do agree about the pauldron. they needed a different shape for the cloth.
  12. If this is real, and I have my doubts... a printed kama. On one of two figues. In an $800 set. Where he won't be sitting down. This kama thing is really getting to me, it looks awful and it's not like there aren't solutions. Either duel mold legs, or do a cloth kama LIKE THEY HAVE LITERALLY USED ON FIGURES THIS YEAR.
  13. I feel like it's not often we've got the same view on one of these things, so even though I don't have much to add I'll throw in my agreement. Imagine this, guys. Your source tells you one of the figs is "A guy with a blue visor and futuristic armor, holding an ant-man figurine". Who would your mind immediately go to? What's more, it's definately possible Goliath has an alternate hair piece like T'challa- since a single microfig might be a bit lacking accessory wise-, in which case if the source saw a different image, we could even add onto it that it's "a black man who can swap between hair and a helmet with a blue visor." Remember when we all thought we were getting a spider-captain america for series 1? This stuff happens, especially with characters we don't already know like the what if ones.
  14. After all these years, man. Seeing this actually kind of hit me a bit with how long it's been, and I think we can all agree it was definately worth it. A genuinely incredible design both in detailing and engineering.
  15. I mean, why else would they photoshop them in brown? It's not like they have brown mixel joints they gave the guy to build it with. Someone went through conscious effort to alter the color from what it actually was. Now, benefit of the doubt, maybe they photoshopped the lifestyle pictures believing they'd have brown parts molded by the time of the official release, but had realized they couldn't do it sometime between the lifestyle photos being taken and photoshopped and the official reveal. But that's a stretch, and I'd like to hear lego's explanation.
  16. Aw man, I actually did forget shadowcat (though I was just gonna use Kitty Pryde for the name), she was gonna be in the Blackbird before I shuffled some of the figs around and she got lost. As for the first part, you said the exact same thing as others did last year when I made a DC heroes list in that thread. Maybe I'll do MOCS for it like I did for that. I feel like for Daredevil, it's more of a Wolveriene situation where his best stuff is mature, but he's known outside of it and he's not egregious. I'd guess the reason we don't get deadpool is the films made him known for being extremely vulgar and sexually explicit rather than simply violent like Daredevil, which is the difference. (which may also explain why daredevil is one of my favorite shows/characters, whereas deadpool is one of my least favorite. Not to start another war but I always felt daredevil's maturity was to show a real world and develop the characters, whereas deadpool was dumb shock humor of "haha he said naughty words")
  17. Doesn't matter. There was effort put in to making the joints appear brown for at least SOME of the images, which is false advertising. I agree about the arm printing, but the jumpsuit color... it's the same as mando's. It's just difficult to decide what color to make the jumpsuit since in the trailer images it's not quite an exact match to any lego color.
  18. You know what? Megablock it. Let's get an Oppenheimer lego set. Wouldn't even neccesarily have to be licensed. The movie was just that good. In more realistic terms, with Dune 2 coming, it'd be a good time to release some Dune sets. We could have stuff like: Battle Packs: Fremen warriors pack ($14.99): 4x fremen with a sand trap to replicate how they pop out of the sand. Alongside their standard weapons, we'd have some of their mounting gear and a molded crysknife. House Artrides/House Harkennon/Sardukar warriors pack ($14.99 each): 4x soldiers of each faction with a barricade of some kind and their house/imperial banners. Standard sets: Fremen Encounter ($49.99): The two-seater thopter with some desert terrain and a thumper. Comes with Paul Artrides (stillsuit), The Lady Jessica, Stilgar, and Chani. Ornithopter ($69.99): Ornithopter (seats for 4 with room for an additional 2-3 figs to stand by the rear ramp) with Paul (stillsuit), Duke Leto, Gurney Hallack, Kynes, and Duncan Idaho. Harkennon Troop Transport ($109.99): Harkennon transport ship with a play feature to drop soldiers from it on lines. Comes with 2x harkennon soldier, 2x Sardukar, 3x artrides soldier, and Gurney Hallack (plainclothes) D2C: UCS ornithopter ($299.99): A massively detailed and scaled ornithopter with exclusive, hyperdetailed figs of Paul Atrides and Duke Leto. Diorama: Shai Hulud ($89.99): A diorama of the desert with the mouth of a massive sandworm dwarfing the included Paul Artrides figure. Quote is "I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer."
  19. I'm biting to respond, but I'll get back to topic as ordered. Sometimes there's just extras. I can't remember if mine had an extra or not. The only other thing I can think of is that the designer had mentioned parts were included to make the damaged window normally, so maybe it's for that? Here are some things I'd like to see: Jubilee's escape ($14.99): An arcade machine and a small wall with an explode feature, with a sentinal build roughly the size of the 2020-2022 mechs. Comes with Jubilee and Gambit Savage Lands: versus Sauron ($39.99): Brick-built Sauron figure and a bit of foilage with Storm, Beast, Sabertooth, and Wolveriene. Sentinal Attack ($69.99): Large brick-built sentinel with Rogue (jacket), Archangel, Jean Gray, Nightcrawler, and Trask. The Blackbird ($89.99): Blackbird jet (2-seater cockpit with 6 additional seats behind) with Cyclops, Jean Gray, Professor X, Gambit, Rogue, Wolveriene, and Magneto. X-Mansion attack ($169.99): X-mansion split into three sections, a large central area with 2 wings. The main room has the danger room on the first floor and a classroom on the second. The left wing has Wolveriene's room and a small prision area, and the right wing has a conference room and the Cerebro room. Figures are Professor X, Wolveriene, Beast (Labcoat), Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Magneto, Mystique, Emma Frost, and a bigfig Juggernaut. And as discussed earlier, some form of master mold, something like: Master Mold ($549.99): An absolutely massive sentinal build with battle-damaged figures of Wolveriene, Storm, and Cyclops to go with it.
  20. I would love that. Throw in some battle-damaged X-men as exclusives figs to appease the fig collecters and there we go, perfect set. Just do a CMF reveal at comic-con showing 9/12 of the figures, then end with the last 3 while blasting the 97 theme, announcing they herald X-men's first standard system sets in a decade in 2024. There are plenty of below par opinions for any movie, and a news article being written about the first non 5/5 review implies that it was well-liked, not that it encountered massive amounts of vitriol. The point me (and maybe pug, I don't want to assume) were making is that it didn't encounter anywhere near the dislike captain marvel encountered, probably because most people thought it was a better film. It makes sense to me on some level, 100%, he would be, but a show focusing on humans and shapeshifting but generally not bulletproof guys doesn't need an avengers-level physical threat. Honestly Gravik himself makes me worry it's going to devolve into a CGI slugfest of him versus a cameo instead of Fury outthinking his opponent in the finale. As for the general stakes, it's WW3. Those are pretty damn high stakes, and more importantly, relatable ones (even if I personally think it won't be what most people expect) If we don't get a lego master mold, and @Ransom Fern doesn't immediately pull off another miracle and make a UCS one out of X number of mech-sized sentinals or something, I'll try one. He needs to be made in brick form.
  21. Sorry for taking months to respond! Two of them, actually, since the trophy has two rings (Hal and John if I remember correctly). I guess if we consider the first two waves I did "canon" to this made-up third film, Kyle is still out there somewhere.
  22. I love Gravik. He's the perfect example of a tyrant pretending to be a freedom fighter, and the scene where might be one of my favorite in the MCU, alongside the second "and did you get what you wanted" poem scene. As for consequential, I could care less. Ever since captain marvel came out it was clear the MCU would never have a secret invasion like that of the comics (and even if it hadn't, it would have been really expensive and difficult to pull off), so I was fine with it not being a massive event like said comics. And at this point, I've pretty much tuned out of the wider MCU, so I don't really care about setup or consequences for the next one. Weird, that universe seems to be one where BP2 was the first film. Odd. Also odd that anything to do with ists is disengenius reframing when you brought up the fact that it was "white cishets" (Whatever that hell that means) giving poor reviews to to the films with the implication it was simply because the characters were female/minorities. Yup, it's really disappointing, but TCW had to fight that same battle and ended up also being a show much better than it's films. It's also impressive how well Secret invasion is able to work with Captain Marvel's complete alteration of the skrulls' lore. Same, she's exactly what I would expect a british version of Nick Fury to be. Lego does tend to hold reveals pretty close to their chests, and if it is a january release for the sets I guess I get it. But at the same time, all I need is an announcement that sets are coming. To be honest, they don't even need to be 97 based (The show's fine, and I'll be happy if they are), just ANYTHING X-men focused. I know it was the disney order or whatever, but the fact that all we've had X-men wise since the first year was a single movie tie-in ish set, a mighty micros set, a mech, and 3 CMF figures is insane to me. (Lego also has the opportunity to go absolutely ham on sentinals like they do with hulkbusters, but it'd actually be cool since the sentinals have always showed up in a variety of sizes and colorations.)
  23. Lego does this all the time, though. We've got images of sets rumored for 2025 releases. The amount of people who will buy the gunship who saw the leak is statistically insignificant. I could definately see this. I also wonder if it might be that they think they know how well the gunship will sell, but pre-orders help them gauge sets they either think will do really well, or are worried about the popularity of, for what they'll need to be producing more stock of.
  24. This is an absolutely absurd take. It is completely delusional to believe lego is attempting to look for any reason to put less diversity in sets. I want to know what universe you live in where there was ANY significant dislike to BP1. I don't think I've met a single person who has a dislike about that film beyond the PS2 cutscene CGI in some shots and those "killmonger was right" weirdos. "it's only disliked because people who dislike it are ___ist" is one of the stupidest arguments I've seen, and I see it SO FREQUENTLY it drives me mad. It's like all the people who claim rey hate is sexist when so many of the people with weird amounts of vitriol towards rey love ahsoka, jyn, leia, etc. (I also want to clarify, I don't have any specific dislike of Rey, I'm just using it as an example because it's what I often see. I don't like TLJ and thought TROS was generally weak, but Rey herself wasn't the main issue) Finally a comment that's on topic! I really hope we see some X-men stuff soon too. Wolvie, Beast, and Storm are a good start, but I want an X-Jet. I want a Sentinal. I want Professor X, Jean Gray, all of it. Two other things more on-topic: Secret invasion continues to be by far the best marvel disney+ show and like marvel's version of Andor, which makes me all the more annoyed we aren't getting anything for it. I get that it, like Andor, is probably more mature than lego likes to make standard sets for, but we could at least have had SI Fury, Talos, Gi'ah or Gravik in somewhere for that CMF. Actually, would have been a cool gimmick if they just included spare skrull heads in some of the CMF packages for the characters from other shows. I noticed from Jangbricks's video that the Hoopty has 420 pieces, which suddenly explains everything, because that's what Lego must have been on to make this $90. (But seriously, That's evidence of either a quality control team that doesn't care anymore and/or designers who are more focused on "haha funny drug number to put on toy for kids" than making good sets.)
  25. My only gripe as well. I hope I'll be able to pick up the set with Shin and Baylon, but if I do they're both getting thin capes, Baylon's getting new hair and gunmetal praetorian guard armor, and they're both getting trans-neon-orange blades. (TBH, I agree with lego's decision about the blades themselves. They don't do trans neon orange any more IIRC, and trans-red is closer to the show's color than trans-orange) It's been pretty well-established from interviews and the like that Shin and Baylon are Dark Jedi in the 90s Thrawn Trilogy sense of the word (which is perfect, I like canon more than legends as a whole but the 90s Thrawn trilogy in particular was my favorite interpretation of a lot of that stuff), Jedi that have turned evil but do not serve the dark side in the way the Sith do. Given Baylon's line in the trailer about knowing Anakin, and his overall appearance, I almost wonder (I want to make clear, WONDER. I have not read any leaks regarding his role beyond "bad guy") if he's to play a C'baoth type role in the show.
