How should I lay out my 700/4 set?
Collector245 replied to Collector245's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Do you know how many of each type of brick should be in the set? Also which windows should be in the set? -
@TeriXeri I also prefer printed bricks. I feel it makes buying used sets much easier. I also think printed bricks make building easier because you don't have to worry about centering the sticker just right on the brick, and deciding whether or not to put on the stickers if you are not going to keep the set forever.

And you also could pick from a wide selection of 4 or 5 colors. -

Sorry, that isn't really possible. Considering that sets like these were only sold in Europe. I kind of feel bad for the kids at the time, their creations would never stay together... -
How should I lay out my 700/4 set?

I cant really build with it considering that this was before 1958, so the bricks had no bottom tubes and the have no clutch power. I have more older sets, this one is from 1957. -

After cleaning up the bricks I have attempted to lay it out correctly. Here is how it turned out: It looks like I have too many red bricks. Does anybody know where there is an inventory? -
What are your favorite police sets? If you don't mind me asking.
-
I agree that LEGO could go without a police station for a year, they could take the previous years set and leave it on the shelves. They could use that time to focus on another set, maybe a grocery store or some other city set like a post office.
-
Personally I think that LEGO produces way to many police stations. I have always been more into buildings and other things you can find in a real city. I think that all of those ideas sound great, and I would like to see them made into sets in the near future.
-
The things in that set I would really like to have is the old logo stickers. Now that I think of it, that would make a great office.
-
I always find that annoying, considering that I some of the inside tour sets more than sets you can get in stores. Also since I am into LEGO history and collecting some of the original LEGO sets, most of the inside tour sets appeal to me. @pooda I think all of those building ideas are great.

I agree completely. City needs to do more detailed buildings, for example, a grocery store.

I have also been wanting a grocery store for some time now. I wonder if LEGO will ever make one.

Death of Lego Investing? Rerelease of Taj Mahal
Collector245 replied to Doom2099's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I also thought I'd add another problem in Lego investing. The use of colors. For example the Green Grocer, when it came out it was one in a few sets that used sand green. Now sand green is used in many sets, thereby devaluing the Green Grocer. -
Hi, I was wondering if anybody knew how to properly checkerboard a 700/4 set. As you can see mine is a bit of a mess. Also what parts should be included?
-
Lego produces way too many Star Wars sets. I am not a fan of Ninjago. Lego should celebrate either the first plastic brick (1949) or the anniversary of the company which was founded in 1932. Not the plastic brick as we know it today (1958).
-
I just noticed something. On the 1960 list of spare parts packs there is a green 2x1 brick. Did they make those in green at the time?
-
Thank you so much for your quick response! I really appreciate it. I have also noticed that the older versions have the markings of the printing company that printed the paper for the set. It is marked at the very bottom of the inside instructions. Thank you so much, William By the way: Thank you so much for helping me with my Nezlo VW bus.

Hi, I am looking into purchasing a LEGO klodser set but I would like to make sure that it is the original 1948 version. I have heard from many people that it is very hard to tell the 2 apart. I was wondering if anyone here would be able to help me. I have attached a link to a page that shows you what a LEGO klodser set looks like. Thanks for your help! http://www.miniland.nl/Historie/Houtpaginas/houten_blokken_van_lego eng.htm
