  1. I have a problem with the actual designs, not with the labelling.
  2. After proper images of the summer sets from both Nuremberg and NY, I can safely say I don't like the new masks. :( They have a really futuristic (Scorpio, Basher) and organic (Grinder, Warrior) feel to them and they are not as pleasing aesthetically as I hoped them to be. I admit, the Brain Attack villains had really organic masks as well, but they didn't feel as much out of style as these do imo. Kopaka is not impressed.
  3. Oh, I've always thought M stands for module which is the size of a ballcup in CCBS (so the piece in question consists of a ball joint, an axle and a socket part). Now that I compared it to a Technic piece, it's certainly true. My bad and thanks for the info.
  4. You mean dark bley 3M bones, right? Anyway, I'd recommend either PoJ or PoS.
  5. There was a two-day promotion here (Jan 31-Feb 1) in a (kinda controversial, semi-official) LEGO store where it was a gift, exclusive for a Bionicle-themed purchase.
  6. It indeed does - no head in the pack.
  7. Wow, that map is great - thanks for the find!
  8. The trans-orange version.
  9. Incredibly scrappy and blurry photos of the hero pack, just in case anyone is interested: package really small booklet (8cmx11cm, 3,1x4,3 inches - not sure why are they rotated, sorry) shiny sticker sheet (same size as booklet) Okoto map (42cmx30cm, 16,5x11,8inches) mask poster (on the other side of the map) The skull spider and the mask are hardly new to anyone.
  10. Strongly disagree. Community customs are subjects to change, too. And using this as an argument implies either that 1. you are not part of the community if you express your dissent with this tradition or 2. you should get used to it, both being kinda offensive... of course, I don't assume it was intentional. :) And that's it exactly why I find it baffling and tiresome all the time. But I don't want to stamp it out by any means: everyone has the right to express themselves in a way they see it convenient as long as it doesn't violate the forum rules. (Btw taking the comments on other websites into account as well, I think the perception is generally positive as always.)
  11. While people still have issues with them, the warm up has already started that feels dramatic after a still rather vague and hard-to-see image. Don't get me wrong, it's really nice people would give them a second thought, but this evaluation pattern has bugged me since the early years - I just don't really see the point of harsh critique of something you can't even see properly then realizing it later (in this case, a few days later) that these were not that bad in the first place. Of course, we're still early on the pics, so it could be that the negative comments overwhelm the positive ones. We'll see.
  12. *sigh* Who would have guessed? But yeah, that was fast.
  13. The general opinion about them did get better despite the fact the sets hardly changed.
  14. Or any other wave before, for that matter. It's a well-known pattern: preliminaries getting unfavorable critiques, finalized images/toy fair pics serving as a warming up period and when the sets are released, they are cherished by most. Nothing new under the sun. Disappointment tends to evaporate rapidly with finalized masks, printed pieces, better posed shots and some nifty PS (texturing, shading etc.).
  15. It's not just Skull Slicer - Warrior clearly has them, too (and most likely Basher as well, dunno about the Scorpio, though).
  16. I'm pretty sure people will warm up to these sets eventually as they do most of the time.
  17. The medium-size Toa are all priced 13 GBP, so I think it's pretty safe to assume these sets are gonna be 15 USD.
  18. Scarilian: I didn't necessarily think of you or your responses to DV's posts, rather about a general perception of this thread which, as you have put it, had been evolving and changing - but in a way it has always been coming back to the same thing, to the point it's getting redundant and pointless IMO. Of course, because it's just my personal taste and people are rightfully entitled to express their opinion, I have started to simply ignore these theories most of the time since their appearance in this thread. With the above comment I meant I found it amusing that right after DV's comment there's an opposing one. I don't wanna restrict the topics discussed or whatsoever by any means. (But I find it saddening that, while discussing these theories, some things have escalated in an offensive manner.)
  19. No offense, but DV said a couple of things on multiple occasions which, at the moment, are as close to official news as they can be, yet I'm astonished how people willfully believe he's wrong or they are just trying to come up with ways to contradict these informations from time to time. (And I don't know how you guys feel about this, but after more than a month of speculation, contesting theories and even hostility in this thread, I don't even give a damn about the Mask of Time anymore.)
  20. I lold... I wish, but nope, unfortunately. Wow. Just wow.
  21. Neat find! Though the game itself... looks painfully boring. :S Walkthroughs for , , , , and .
  22. Same here. :)
  23. Actually, it's a really nice combiner and feels much more like one than the power-up mode - admittedly, it uses more parts from the (this time disassembled) protector. And the use of the protector's feet is excellent.
  24. "- Do you have the bionicle set names? - Nope, don't have those."
