Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Change the topic now. Talk about the sets, talk about the theme, talk about Harry Potter. If I see any more talk about leakers, fights about who is right or wrong, or any more arguments occurring between the few of you--you know who you are--I will start banning members. Thanks! -
LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Captain Nemo replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I’ve never been to the park. But as someone who really wants to go, this a fine consolation prize. After watching all the vlogs and ride-throughs, I know the characters (by sight at least). To me, this is vehemently more interesting than set rehashes. -

The Galaxy’s Edge set is seriously cool! A very nice tie in to the park, and completely unexpected! -

@TheRandomBlocker @HalfBloodPrince If you two do not want to be here, I can very much make that happen. Decorum please. Either play nice or don't play at all. I am not saying you have to engage with one another. But if you do engage, you better not be engaging in an argument. If that happens again, you'll both find yourselves looking for a new forum to argue on. Why is it always the Harry Potter thread? -

Avengers Tower is certainly, by far, the best of this rather sketchy wave. But on them Iron Mens—god Lego, it is not necessary for you to hit the completed build with a frying pan before you sell them! Why are they so flat?! -
Hologram from Home The second in my series of Imperialist builds, focusing on the Stormtrooper perspective, 'Hologram from Home' depicts the the typical reaction when one receives a love letter out on the front. With this build, I wanted to accomplish two things--making a really cool speeder bike for postal deliveries and convey believable expressions of emotions from minifigures. I was less focused on accuracy...I'm sure in a galaxy far far away, they don't actually deliver mail by speeder bike and that holographic mail is not also enveloped sized. But hey, that's not what this build is about. Like my first build in this series, For the Empire, I wanted to convey the tropes of battlefield deployment depicted across various media, through the lens of the Mimban Stormtrooper. And following the build style of the previous entry, this one too is dark, damp, and all around grey. Although rain does seem to have set in. Building the speeder bike was a fun component of the piece, and was the first thing I built. I was set on making it blend with the Mimban Stormtrooper palette, so I utilized multiple sticker sheets from the Lego Batman Movie: Arkham Asylum set, (a very very small section of that full sticker sheet) which I cut to various sizes, all to dirty up the bike. I use stickers frequently on these Imperialist builds; the wood grains of the trenches are stickers, as are the dirt patterns on the custom Gonk droid. Yes, they are grilling on a Gonk. Again, not going for total accuracy...unless... I love being able to express a wordless story though minifigures. It was a challenge to find and select the perfect minifigure heads to convey the emotions I wanted, but it was worth the effort. Hopefully, you can look at any of these images, or at this piece on a convention table sometime in the future, and instantly understand the full context, story, and those blush-inducing sounds of "oooooOOOHHHH!" that all those Stormtroopers are jeering out.

Play nice or don’t play at all everyone... -
So, name wise, I think this set seems to have put more mud in the water than it cleaned it up actually. The press release notes the manor's titular owner as one 'Samuel Von Barron', which who knows where marketing got that from? All the designers in the official video refer, only and on multiple occasions, to a 'Baron von Barron', and even at one point note that distinctly saying, "that there was a villain called Baron von Barron and Sam Sinister and they were going about...", i.e. two distinct characters. Ultimately, I concur with the sentiment that Orient Expedition just messed everything up by mixing up the two characters names when visually they merged the designs. Was that an actual mix up? It could have just as well been intended too. But regardless, we all know his name is Baron von Barron. All the Lego designers know his name is Baron von Barron. And we all know whoever writes the press releases know nothing of the subtly of Lego Adventurers. Case closed! -- Regarding Ogel--that's a bit of a strange link I think, regarding Baron von Barron at least. The Adventurers connection of Ogel is actually from the Jungle wave's villain, Senior Palomar; Ogel's face print is a light copy and paste of Palomar's face from two years prior. The other notable point is that Ogel is apparently canonically related Knights Kingdom's II villain, Vladek... So that tangent is only relevant in that this set seems to suggest with the coat of arms, that likewise, Baron von Barron is also related to another famous villain: but that villain being Basil. Again, it's just a weird thing. This is the first time I've seen that suggested, and I suspect the link is only made because of their similarities regarding mustaches. I would say that it is more arguable that Basil was the first vampire minifigure (not) than it is he was ever intended, when created or during that era, to be shown to be Barron's ancestor (And no Basil was not the first vampire minifigure, the 2002 Studios Vampire was, come at me bro ). I don't know about those potential numerical typos, but regardless of the number the clear intent was to link the Barron name to the Basil name (judging by the coat of arms and Basil's background helmet in the video). But that's what's fun about Adventurers--its all confusing! And like an adventurer you are constantly discovering new things: I've been collecting official Adventurers wearable costume-swag for three (?) years now, and I'm still constantly finding previously unknown artifacts from 1998 or 1999 that shine new light on the theme. So frankly I'm just happy this set has turned the communities attention and discussion back to this rich theme once more.

Everyone stick to set discussion please. You actually have something to talk about now, so let’s talk about the sets. Discussion about individuals is utterly out of place. Thanks! -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Well, apparently they still have a few weeks of filming to do, and I believe there are only supposed to be six episodes in total anyways... Point being, with the state of things, there's no telling when they would be able to film the remainder, and I don't think it's likely that they would put out a few episodes (if they even could) and then...wait potentially months, or possibly into 2021, to even complete the rest. Lego wise, I think it is more likely, this set, would get pushed back in tandem. -

I mean, that show won't be coming out anytime soon, what with all the production shutdowns, so I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed the set back too. Especially if it could have spoilers. -

Everyone, chill down please. There are way too many reports coming out from this thread. General rudeness, fake rumors, pointless clock counting happening... If we can't be civil or show a semblance of patience, then I may just have to close this thread for a bit so everyone can calm down. Play nice or don't play at all. Thanks! -

Note: Please do not post any links to these set images, even if they’re from vendor sites. Lego will consider them leaks and then complain about it to EB. Feel free to discuss—but no links! Thanks! -
I don’t see that as something remotely likely to happen. FYI

That’s more to do with Warner Brothers issuing take downs on anything WW1984 related. This is not the first time they have freaked out about Wonder Woman stuff like posters and mugs. Granted that stuff wasn’t already for sale apparently! -

You were so close Lego! Almost a perfect set! Why’d you have to cheap out on the third figure?! Why is it (almost) always the figures you cheap out on?! Yes I’m gonna nitpick, but that’s my Lego-Gods-given right when they continually reuse old boring figure parts for specific named unique characters! In what way do those generic pieces form a 1985’s Pedro Pascal? Now we’ll never get a decent Maxwell Lord! Did we even get one? Is that actually Steve Trevor—who knows?! Why is it always the superhero sets that have to put up with this? The whole point of this theme is to get superheroes—those specific, unique, characters that everyone loves and has totally heard of. Boo! Boo I say! You can do everything else right in this set—new molds, leg printing, great build designs. Why stop a foot from the finish line? Anyways, this is certainly the best DC set we’ve gotten in years. Great job Lego! -

Licensed Lego Ideas - Support & Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
@Digger of Bricks I have amended the rules above regarding this, for clarity. My intent was simply to prevent "Ideas" theft essentially. Basically I just want to make sure everyone is fully credited. Re-posting another person's Ideas submission here is appropriate--as long as the submission's originator is credited. Thanks! -
Welcome to the Licensed Lego Ideas thread! This is a place where creators and members may share, promote, and discuss official Licensed Ideas sets and prospective Licensed submissions to Lego Ideas. Lego is always acquiring new licenses to build sets for, and through Lego Ideas and at the direction of the fan community, they have acquired a multitude of new and unique IP's to build for. With this thread, there is now a single location on Eurobricks to discuss, share, and encourage the release of new, official Lego Licensed themed products. -- Creators of submissions to Lego Ideas my use this thread to promote their submissions (to an extent). If you wish to share a Lego Ideas submission here or wish to promote your submission here, you may do so by posting a comment about it in this thread below. However, please follow these house rules: Any post (or repost) of an Ideas submission must credit the originator(s) of the submission Do not post more than one link to the submission in your comment Do not include more than three images of the submission Please post only one comment regarding links and images, per Ideas submission i.e. do not continually post comments discussing updates or tier goals being reached--please don't spam Creators should use this thread to announce submissions--not continually prod readers for votes on their submissions. Please be respectful. Thank you! Thanks to @MatthewRC for suggesting the creation of such a thread.
