Wow, that hotel does have an uncanny resemblance to Gringotts. This makes me feel like a Gringotts set is not coming anytime soon. If it was it seems unlikely they would approve this very similar design.

Or a UCS Hogwarts Express with school age and epilogue minifigures! If they ever do UCS Hogwarts Express I could totally see at least old Harry and Albus Severus being bonus figures like Hagrid & Harry in Diagon Alley/Founders with Hogwarts/Golden figures in Hogwarts Icons.

Do you think that Warner Bros might require LEGO to create products for the new Fantastic Beasts movie as a condition of having the Wizarding World license? In 2018 they already kinda shoved FB into the CMF and only made two sets so it seemed like they were either testing the waters or were forced to do it. I would love to get more FB sets though, from any of the movies.

The Wizarding World accessory pack is available again in US S@H today. Too bad I submitted my order yesterday. Hopefully it will be still in stock next time I need to make a free-shipping-level order. Edit: And it is sold out again already.

Any idea if the Diagon Alley accessory set should be back in stock on S@H US eventually? It was available for such a short time, I really hope I didn't miss out.

Since there has been discussion of Peeves, this is something I have always been curious about: How do we know that figure is supposed to be Peeves? Is there any official source from LEGO identifying him as such?

My theory is that these replaced Fantastic Beasts sets after the first wave didn't do so well. In 2018 I believe there was a July wave of Harry Potter sets and an August wave of two Fantastic Beasts sets. In 2019 I'd guess they originally planned the same pattern, but then decided to change the two August slots to just be from Harry Potter.

Very well said. I want to add that the whole point of LEGO is that it is a building system where the pieces can be re-used. If LEGO already has a part and print that exist for a certain situation, I would much rather have them re-use it than create a new one just for the sake of exclusivity. It is better for everyone if certain figures and pieces are more widely available, unless you really only can value something if others don't have it. I would understand annoyance if some figure was re-used in a situation where it doesn't fit the scene, but I don't think we have seen that happen often.

It's likely this may have been planned to coincide with the originally planned release of Fantastic Beasts 3 before it was delayed as well. The first came out with Fantastic Beasts 2. So I agree it is likely a possible series 3 would release around the new date for FB3.

I read on Instagram that the GWP Ice Rink 40416 will be available for purchase for $20 later this month. Is that true? Or do I need to drop $150 big ones now before it runs out?

I ended up caving a buying a second Hogwarts Express from Barnes & Noble yesterday to get the GWP. (I have wanted another for a while so I can expand my train and platform) Now I see it has gone out of stock online too, so I guess it's good that I went for it! It seems like only sets left in stock at all are Privet Drive and CMFs.

How sure are we that MBOM will be a GWP, considering it is apparently already available at some Legoland Discovery Centers? Have there been sets that are both GWP and a Legoland exclusive before? This seems like a pretty unusual situation based on recent history.

Good suggestion! This was definitely just hobbled together with my spare parts so I don't know if I have many more other types of brown that will fit in but I may dig for more... I think that is why I put those 1x1 dark brown cylinders in there. Anyway my biggest annoyance with the result is those two small black spots on the front - that is because those are the front of the hinges attaching to the wall.

I'll share my mod of Quality Quidditch Supplies as well! I just used the outward facing studs to attach an extra crooked floor for The Daily Prophet. It actually required no modification of the original structure except moving the sign.

That looks much better! I haven't gotten to this building yet but I have a feeling I might want to do the same. I have a few more microscale Wizarding World additions to share! I shared my minifigure troll here before, and as a Giant, I figured Grawp can get the same treatment. As a minifigure he will fit into Hogwarts as a Giant among the microfigures! He was actually pretty easy to build since Barney Rubble's body was already pretty much perfect for him as is. I've also included a shot of a few of my other additions to microscale Hogwarts! So far I've built Hagrid, Fluffy, the Mountain Troll, Grawp, Buckbeak the Hippogriff, and a Thestral.

I haven't built Diagon Alley yet but I definitely noticed the same thing with the plates on the Hagrid Brickheadz. I don't know if it has always been that way or if I am just paying closer attention...

While I believe most of the retro-Hogwarts sets have decreased in value in recent years since much better version are available for sale, it does not appear that has occurred for the old Diagon Alley yet, which has climbed in price recently: https://www.brickeconomy.com/set/10217-1/lego-harry-potter-diagon-alley I would guess this is because the old Diagon Alley includes Gringotts which a lot of people will be wanting to add onto their new Diagon Alley even if it doesn't quite fit the aesthetic as is.

Mine is also in hold. I never checked the status before though so I don't know if that has changed. But it makes sense to me because my original e-mail confirmation said it would ship on or before September 18th. So it seems reasonable that it would be on hold at this point.
