  1. Yep, it's mentioned in the notes section of that entry. The Sisters of Artemis are the base unit type, the Huntresses are the upgrade.
  2. Seconded. Love the horizontal feather. A really classy touch.
  3. Player request; if we're developing the game, could the next step be mainland cities? I'm sure we'd all love to build up our homelands, and I'm eager to send the Bishop to Guelph. I've been putting it off long enough. Maybe for balance you could say mainland cities generate less income, but are worth more in trade value? Something like that.
  4. @Captain Braunsfeld Thanks. It's something the faction has been discussing for a while. It made sense to me, since each side represents a different brother, and together the triangle represents Mt Olympus.
  5. Unit name: Huntresses of Artemis Type: Light infantry/Scouts/Assassins Uniform description: A dark green habit, hood and scarf. Sometimes facepaint and other camouflaging. Equipment description: Compound bow and poisoned arrows. Recruitment centre: Fatu Hiva, other centres in Mainland Oleon. Unit history: Huntresses are among the highest ranking clergy of Artemis. However, as members of a niche cult, there are few of them active. Until recently, the only active member of this priesthood is the unnamed sister who provided assistance to Oleon in their Travels to Terraversa. While Huntresses typically operate as individuals, they can work together when significant threats emerge. Campaigns: The Terraversa Campaign (as advisors) The El Oleonda Campaign Motto: Pro Venatio
  6. The only name she has given so far is "Weasel" but that was about 5 years ago now, so I really should come up with a more appropriate one for her...
  7. The day had grown heavy. The Archbishop had so many things to take care of before he left. The body had already been embalmed and preserved. There was no chance of it swelling up and exploding on the homeward journey. But he still needed to get it transported to the ship. He had made his farewells to most of the senior command, but there were still one or two who were proving elusive, but who would likely take it personally if he didn't pay his respects. Letters needed to be dispatched, contracts needed to be tied up, responsibilities needed to be handed over. And all he wanted to do was get this stage of his life over and done. And then there was the child. Her unit had done well out in the field. Promotions were in order. While not a formal member of the hierarchy of the Sisterhood of Artemis, as the ranking representative of the Order of the Faith, it fell to him to observe and confirm those promotions. "Child," he exclaimed on meeting her. "You've grown since I saw you last." "And you've grown old, Padré." she replied. "I go by 'Archbishop' now." "Then you've grown old and important. Why is it that men always do that?" "And you've grown more deadly, and disrespectful." "Well then forgive me father, for I have sinned." The sarcasm was palpable. "You're keeping up your practice?" he asked, pointing to the targets swaying on branches away down the trail. Wordlessly she loosed an arrow. Too high, he though, and too far to the left. But then it seemed to catch the breeze and fall point-first into the target. "Impressive," he murmured. "You should see me collecting scalps," she replied. Was that something they did? Or was she just trying to upset him? Whichever it was, this conversation was proving fruitless. He sighed. "I'm here to confirm your promotion, and those of your sisters, in the name of the heavens, the oceans and the fires below." He made the sign of the triangle as he went through the familiar benediction. "Take these monies and give them to your Sister Superior when she returns." He passed a heavy sack her way. "May the hunt favour you." Heavy hearted, he turned to leave. "May your path be blessed," she murmured the reply. The old man smiled, and struck another duty from his list.
  8. Do it. We're all building 8x8s. Get involved
  9. This build could be from any era. Really nice work.
  10. Looking good, looking good. Can I anticipate an undercover mission?
  11. @Justsomebrix @Kwatchi @Captain Braunsfeld Thanks so much guys. I had no idea this would get so much love. I really appreciate it. IRL, it's something the French are cool with and the British have recently been scandalised by it. In-game, the WTC have a history of eating horses, and we're happy to tar all of Corrington with the same brush.
  12. A lovely build. They're really quick to throw together, huh?
  13. I thought we had both of those covered. The Germans (Germany didn't even exist for most of the age of sail) is Carno, and the Dutch are part of Eslandola. That's where we get Weelond and such from.
  14. Mein Gott! Soon you'll be able to walk back home to Corrington just by stepping from one docked ship to another.
  15. Damn, Corrington got all these huge digital builders! The rest of us don't stand a chance. As always, it's immaculate, highly detailed, and very realistic. I'm envious.
  16. This ship will be licensed by @Captain Genaro on behalf of the RNTC.
  17. In the gloom of the catacombs, two Underguards patrol their usual route, checking for smugglers, grave robbers, and cat burglars. These tunnels connect to most places in the city, and a cunning rascal could use them to ill intent. "Who goes there?" they call, interrupting someone roaming in the gloaming. "Errr, 'Thompson'," he replies. "Just paying my respects to my, errr, grandad here." "A likely story," answer the Guards. Perhaps you'll be more honest when we get you back to headquarters.
  18. Oh yeah, thats absolutely deliberate. Guess what promotion the Archbishop is going for next? I just couldn't wait for that to happen before I established the unit, so I gave them red uniforms for a different reason.
  19. On the shores of Nola Mar, a suspicious gang of Eslandolan has been spotted by Knights Treasurer Heavy Cavaliers. "You there, halt what you're doing!" calls the Knight Commander. The Eslandolans take one look at each other, and scatter. With a sigh, the Knight Commander orders his men to run down the smugglers. Within minutes, all of the greenbacks were either dead, dying, or huddled together, looking very sorry for themselves. "Let this be a lesson to you!" said the Knight, imperiously. "Everyone pays taxes in Oleon!"
  20. I think I got bored with how slow the war is going. I don't want responsibility for a central character in something that might take years to finish. Especially as he's only a side character for me. From a narrative standpoint, I really want to enrich the Archbishop's story. And since death is such a key pillar of his, it made sense that he should have a personal connection to it.
  21. Near the Harbour of Nola Mar, a patrol of Treasurer Guards hears a commotion, and comes across two struggling men. "What's all this then?" they demand. "Private matter, good sirs. Nothing to concern yourselves with!" answers the fellow in the maroon coat. "He's accosting me!" replies the gondolier. "Nonsense!" replies the hairy fellow. "This young man has just volunteered to join the Queen's navy!" "We've heard enough." answer the Guardsmen. "Corrington's navy doesn't operate out of Nola Mar. Every citizen here is a free man. Unhand him, and head back to your ship double-quick."
  22. Agreed. Technically, he is in the room there. He would have Archbishop François' support. A battlefield commission could be awarded, and the promotion presented to mainland command as a fait accompli.
  23. On the streets of Nola Mar, a patrol of Knights Treasurer bumps into some Musketeers. Odd, because there shouldn't be any crown troops in the city, especially in uniform and wearing weapons. "Musketeers - if that be what you be - lower your arms and prepare to explain yourselves!" calls the patrol leader. "And what if it don't be what we be?" asks one of the strangers. "Then I'd lower those weapons even quicker, and make the explanation very good!"
  24. @evancelt @Bricksbypidy @Keymonus @Yperio_Bricks Thanks guys! Your feedback really means a lot. I tried to balance humour and pathos with this series and I really think it paid off. We'll all be the poorer for his loss. But if its any consolation, I happen to know that there's a little Hercule on the way. So maybe this story will have a sequel. One day.
