Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Balrogofmorgoth replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would say either Voldemort, Dumbledore, Snape or Sirius maybe? They’re really the only characters that haven’t been hinted at yet that are that pivotal to those films, although Sirius would really only be for OOTP -

Just an observation, compared to previous years. Didn’t mean any harm by it. -

This is some really fun speculation but we haven’t even seen the 2020 sets yet, I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Anyone else feel like this has been a very dry leak season so far? Compared to previous years at least. Maybe we’ll get a flood of leaks over the next couple of weeks before the reveal though, who knows -

Yeah Malfoy Manor would be a little bland as a display piece imo, just a typical looking real world mansion. A smaller set of the interior would be better I think. Just to capture the scenes from the film. Maybe a partial facade with the Death Eater meeting table, the hall where the interrogations take place, and the cellar -

If the Astronomy Tower comes with Draco in his Slytherin robes then I hope Diagon Alley comes with him in his black suit. -

Kingnono did say that minifig collectors would love it, so it seems to center around figures, which tells me it’s designed more as a large playset rather than a microscale display piece like Hogwarts. We’ll see I suppose. Although we’ll probably see all the regular sets first -

I would bet almost anything it’s not microscale -

I would hope we get a better cup at some point. Same with the diadem and locket. And Gryffindor’s sword for that matter, even though it isn’t a Horcrux. I think CMF accessories are the only way the Horcruxes will ever be properly represented -

On another note, I really hope we get a polybag this year. I’m sure there won’t be anything exclusive or terribly interesting in it, but they’re always nice to get anyway, and they’re fun to hunt for. I enjoyed the one in 2018 and bought about a dozen of them to army build those Gryffindor sweaters -

In-universe maybe, but Lego proportions are far from accurate -

That’s probably one of the simplest interpretations I’ve heard. Makes sense. Might even have Harry’s vault and the “you know what in vault you know which”. That would be iconic as well, but more of an Easter egg than anything. Dragon makes more sense as far as iconic scenes -

I would buy several copies of that duel set if they ever made it. I’m actually really curious what the difference in parts will be between this AAT and the most recent TPM version. Obviously the colors will be different but I wonder how the design will compare -

Great move, I loved it! Exclusive minifigs are always nice but that set exceeded my expectations, and the little builds were really nice and, unlike Star Wars, you can actually use the mini builds to decorate the castle sets. There actually very practical. I would say 10/10 for an Advent Calendar -

The robes are a little different too but it probably will have to suffice until he’s (hopefully) included in a future set -

Since we’re only getting a few sets for TCW I’m hoping Anakin’s Interceptor comes with more than just Anakin and R2, although my hopes aren’t very high. Hopefully the AAT will include Ahsoka. I think Maul is too much to hope for this time but I’m hoping they continue to make some TCW sets peppered into the waves of sets in the future -

That set would make perfect sense I think. I just don’t believe this specific rumor about it because no reliable leaker has mentioned it. It only surfaced as a “rumor” because some copycat on IG took the “he’s back” hint from kingnono and ran with “we’re getting a $50 Ministry set”. That specific rumor was completely made up. It just was. That guy has no inside information. That being said, I’m definitely not saying a Ministry set is impossible. Like I said, it would make a lot of sense and I would love to see it happen. I’m just not going to assume the set exists based on a guy who is so very obviously not reliable. As for this newer guy that posted it, I can’t say. Don’t know anything about them. Maybe they know something, maybe they don’t. But I won’t believe anything unless a known reliable leaker at least hints at it. Also, Lego has made it very clear with this reboot that a scene being the climax of the film doesn’t mean it will get a set. -

No one believes it because not a single reliable leaker has mentioned it. If it did happen, I would MUCH rather it be the Department of Mysteries with characters like Sirius, Lucius, Death Eaters, and DA members. Maybe the fountain as one of the builds to add more to it. But Dumbledore, Harry, and Voldemort would pretty much all just be repeats of versions we already have so they would waste some good minifig slots -

Unless a reliable leaker confirms a Ministry Battle set (which I don't find likely at all), I will not believe it exists, as much as I would love one. I don’t know what to believe about set numbers anymore, everyone seems to have different info on those -

I’ve been thinking the same thing about Gringotts. It’s probably the one that would work best on its own and it would open up a lot of space for other things in this set. It will probably be included though. It’s too iconic to Diagon Alley not to be a selling point for his set. It grabs the eye the most -

Well this pretty much confirms it’s not microscale which is good. Technic pins will be nice for displaying the buildings and for possibly adding more later
