  1. I've updated my inventory, and am running a 'special offer' until january 1st: If order value.. > 50 euro : 20% discount on shipping > 100 euro: 30% discount on shipping > 250 euro: 50% discount on shipping Shipping includes all countries with tracking service. Insurance is optional and not included in the offer. - Sok.
  2. It doesn't have awhole lot of special parts but it's an interesting build. At 70-80 bucks in regular shops it's too expensive in my opinion, I purchased a second-hand with PF-M motor and batterybox for 60. In your case, 50 for a new one sounds decent. If you're looking for a great crane model, get 8421, now THAT's a nice model ;) - Sok. ps. other than the name and the mention of penny market I wouldn't have been able to tell you were German
  3. Re-read what I said - a single quick brush of very fine grain sandpaper over the motor contacts will quickly remove all dirt on them and roughen them up a bit, improving contact on switchpoints. It's a definite no for the track though. - Sok.
  4. It would be easy to control one with a PF receiver. 9v won't make it go very fast though. - Sok.
  5. Use sandpaper to brush up the motor contacts (slightly!), and clean the track regularly with alcohol or model-train cleaning agents. - Sok.
  6. You could build one with a single sloped front instead of the double that the original came with, that way it'll fit with the cars better.
  7. I'm good at cutting up dead animals.
  8. This was my first and still is my favorite Technic set ever :) It has a nice bunch of gears, a fancy mechanism for the landing gear and the canopy which was a pain to build (because of all the different ways it could go :D:D) - Sok.
  9. http://www.philohome.com/motors/motorcomp.htm :)
  10. The old toothed half-bushes are very prone to cracking, I assume because the plastic becomes brittle after (10, 20, 30) years and lots of exposure to sunlight. - Sok.
  11. If you're not using 9v rails it doesn't matter much tbh. And the PF motor is more efficient so your batteries will last longer. - Sok.
  12. You can connect the PF receiver to the 9v motor with this wire and no, it won't need additional power from the track as far as I know :) - Sok.
  13. the 'I'm jewish and you know it' spoof is really good
  14. The students at uni apparently think I'm a cool guy when it comes to assisting dissection practicals (it's my parttime job next to doing my msc) And I can swim 50m underwater.
  15. Uhm...you realise that having an XL motor with higher speed and same torque would mean it drawing an insane amount of power, right? - Sok.
  16. Good afternoon folks, there's a short tale that I'd like to share with you: I bought a 6990 monorail set last week, on the Dutch 'Marktplaats' website, which is kind of like Ebay but less 'serious'. It arrived Saturday and was missing almost half the pieces and included some very badly damaged ones even though the seller had it listed as 'complete and in good condition'. I called him yesterday afternoon to inform him about the status and he immediately claimed that it had been 'complete as he had gotten it'. I carefully explained what 'complete' means in the context of LEGO sets but he quickly degenerated into calling me a liar and eventually hung up. So I mailed him shortly after, again explaining my position and requesting that he cooperate to solve the problem. He replied threatening to sue me for slander, said he would send his lawyer after me, and said I was being rude for disturbing his Sunday rest like this According to Google he is about 20 years old and doesn't have an impressive résumé when it comes to intimidating people, so I ignored his threats and offered him two solutions, either he take it all back and gives me a refund, or he refunds part of the value so I can complete the set myself. Again, he replied in an absurdly threatening manner. He is going to send his lawyer after me (whose cost I supposedly have to pay ) and sue me for slander and fraud. I again ignored his threats and repeated my offer, and he hasn't replied since. Unfortunately for him I have his full name, address and registered phone number + bank account, and according to a good friend of mine (who happens to be a police officer) there's enough information and evidence for them to summon him for questioning and order him to fulfil his obligations as seller lest he be fined for fraud. I'll give him a few days to think it over but when he doesn't reply in a satisfying way I'm going to report him. More as it unfolds ;) - Sok
  17. They are quite rare however, and not as sturdy as the later double-nozzle cylinders. - Sok.
  18. Nope, could go both ways with the suction block thingy (http://media.peeron.com/pics/inv/custpics/4692.jpg), and yes it has a 6-stud reach. (model is standing next to me :)) - Sok.
  19. LEGO's rechargable batterbox is fairly expensive and can still only provide for two XL motors, so a larger one would be welcome indeed. - Sok.
  20. Nice, I built the same some time ago but I didn't have LA's to control it yet back then - Sok
