  1. People associate blocky square shapes with retro gaming as a whole. It may not be accurate, but most people either remember retro graphics as better or worse than they actually are. Most people tend to forget what they actually look like if they played the game as a kid.
  2. If the head can come off, it makes my theory of the $10 sets being the characters more likely (that would mean Mario has exactly eleven pieces). This looks like a fun theme and one that inspires creativity. I've talked to some friends who like Nintendo but know nothing about Lego, and they think this is super cool. The difference between afols and the adult Nintendo community is that they play with things, so this appeals to them greatly. Also, a lot of them tend to buy pretty much anything with Nintendo stuff on it.
  3. I can't imagine they'd make the thing that makes these sets function exclusive to a $60 set. That'd be suicide for the line. From what I've observed in my time roaming the Lego isles, parents usually say no to things above $30. I'm willing to bet either the $10 will have the playable characters. I mean, Mario might come with the $60 set, but the $10 sets have like 10-14 pieces. Mario consists of ten pieces, so if you include a plate or something, you have eleven. There are two eleven part sets, Luigi would probably have the same part count as Mario. I'm putting my money on Peach being the biggest of them, as she'd have her crown, earrings, and maybe a parasol considering the hands have clips in them, so at some point there has to be a bar accessory in this line. Toad is probably the ten piece set, as he's the simplest (no ears or buttons or anything like that). The arms appear to be the Minion arms with new hands. He's ten pieces (hat, body, two ears, two buttons, two arms, two hands).
  4. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if there is some sort of correlation between Lego's DC line and Spin Master's. Red suit Nightwing, Batgirl, Man-Bat, and Bronze Tiger coming out with both Lego and Spin Master at the same time seems like it might not be a coincidence. I wonder if WB has like a list of characters toy companies can choose from for a given year. Like, I wonder if we'll see King Shark or Copperhead in the fall/winter wave. If we do, that pretty much confirms my theory.
  5. Okay, I dropped Nightwing a while ago, so I have no clue what's going on rn.
  6. I wonder if Dick's going back to the red suit soon. Like, Spin Master showed off a red suit Nightwing at NYTF. I know their DC line has a lot of 90's Kenner style variants, but it's still interesting that we'll be getting two red Nightwings from two companies at the same time. Also, the Marvel rumor's from Cosmic Book, which is a clickbait site run by comic-gaters. Their "source" is apparently also more or less blacklisted from the industry due to the whole comic-gate thing, so he's probably just looking for fifteen minutes of fame.
  7. I wonder if we'll see any 5G based sets or minifigures next year. Like, I'm really curious about how far that will go. Will we only get 5G themed McFarlane figures? Will it bleed over into the toyetic stuff like the Spinmaster toys? Like, surely, if they want this to be a several year thing like the New 52 or Rebirth, they'll have to market these new characters/updated characters and introduce them to kids, right? I can't imagine how confusing it would be for some kid who just turned like twelve picking up an issue of Wonder Twins in a few years and Wally West is Batman, Jon's in his mid eighties, and Ozymandias is like sunbathing on Alfred's third grave or something with no context.
  8. Ngl, if this is based on the books, I'd be all over it. I never liked the Disney Pooh stuff as a kid.
  9. I'm specifically interested in power functions type things and potential integration with system, although I'm down for Technic only sets. I'm on a fairly limited budget, though ($100 or less).
  10. I doubt we'll see the 2014 cowl again, or any cowl. It seems that the look DC wants toy manufacturers to use is her current Rebirth look. At most we might get a new hair piece, but idk if Lego would see that as worth it, when they could probably get away with using a preexisting element. It's a pity Lego totally skipped the Burnside look, though (that's probably my favorite look she's had).
  11. I wouldn't mind a chunky Batmobile. Like, if it's anything like what @RedHoodPug suggested, it might end up being like the Batmobile from The Cult.
  12. I'm actually really happy with these. The minifigs seem like they'll help flesh out the batfam, and the builds don't sound that bad.
  13. As annoying as that is, at least we got the CMF series and we're getting the Wonder Woman set. Also, is Batgirl in this this wave by any chance?
  14. No, why? The CMF is doing really well (all the stores in my area are sold out) and the movies sound like they're going to be successful.
  15. I'm not surprised there aren't new Clone Wars sets. The Rebels and Resistance sets sold really poorly, and the shows were actually aired across the globe. Clone Wars s7 will only be available in like three countries. And tbh, I don't see Clone Wars s7 being too popular with kids. The prequel era isn't the newest thing in Star Wars anymore and they'd need to watch like fifty hours of Clone Wars. I imagine a lot of kids are going to try starting with s7, get confused, and give up. So overall, I doubt Clone Wars sets would sell particularly well.
  16. Honestly, I wouldn't mind the Batman sets so much if they would include core members of the Batfam. Duke Thomas has been around for almost a decade, Babs has gotten like three new costumes since our last minifig of hers, we've never gotten a Red Robin/Drake, we've never gotten Bluebird (although, I guess she's obscure enough that makes sense), we've never gotten Spoiler, we've never gotten Orphan, and we've never gotten Batwing. Also, it's been years since our last Alfred, and even longer since our last comics Alfred. Also, Jerry the Turkey.
  17. in that case, lets hope the movie wasn't binned, because I just need good DC figs injected directly into my bloodstream
  18. Idk, all I have is speculation unless the Instagram guy posts again. I turned on notifications, so if they say anything, I'll know.
  19. I saw a post on Instagram about cancelled LBM2 sets. It's a pity we won't get them, as the movie sets and figs are always leagues ahead of basically all the non-Star Wars licensed sets.
  20. I assume Baby Robin is Damian Wayne, so it would have been cool to see him on the big screen. I also wonder what the ninja figs would have looked like. Also, I'm surprised there was going to be a Batcave, as we just got one that sounds very similar like last year, and another for the first movie. The thing said these were TLBM2 sets that got canned (so I think that means the movie isn't happening)
  21. A list just sprung up in the usual place, and while I'm not sure if it's legit, it sounds very Lego-y in terms of set selection. Sets: Batmobile Ra's Al Ghul Baby Battle Ra's Al Ghul Ninja Lair Riddler's Jet Heist Nightwing vs Deathstroke Batcave and Robin Nest
  22. Any good heads for Zorii Bliss?
  23. Does anyone have tips/ideas for Yavin/celebration/comics Luke without the medal? I'm fine with custom prints, but I'm not big on cloth coats and things.
  24. Is it just me, or do the lightsaber blades in the 2020 sets look cloudier? Can anyone with the sets confirm/deny this? Also, if that's the case, is it like a frosted effect on the plastic itself or a change in the color?
  25. Am I supposed to be getting the impression that this is sort of Lego Worlds mixed with TLNM in terms of gameplay?
