  1. Strange that the nobleman's torso has a cape bound together with golden laces on its upper half, but he does not wear a cape cloth.
  2. You have a good eye, I mistook it for pearl black or what it's called!
  3. Has anyone noticed the dark gray stains on the black horse barding. Weird, isn't it? The Black Knights armour has them, too.
  4. Ok, I am sorry, I didn't think of that possibility.
  5. I find it misleading that Eurobricks shows a combine of two sets on the frontpage.
  6. This might be a somewhat disappointing theory, but... I think the falcon knight might be no sign for a return of the falcons... if TLG just used it as an homage to the well-known Black Knight myth. As most of you know, in most movies and books there is a mysterious black knight who appears in the joust. To put this myth into a fig AND allude to a faction of the past, they made the black falcon. This was necessary because there is already a dark green horse barding and TLG needed to introduce at least one that is new. Fans would have been furious if there was only the red and dark green ones in the set that they already have. But black knights always come ALONE...
  7. Wardancers are a special kind of wood elves in the Warhammer universe. Before battle, they dance themselves into trance and keep on dancing during battle. That sort of appealed to me when I was much younger. I used the name in LAN-sessions and so it became my alias.
  8. Hey everyone, yesterday I noticed that GMX puts Bricklink Notifications in SPAM Folder. They have not always done that, maybe they have changed their filters. I thought this might be relevant for some. We all want our orders to arrive as quickly as possible I assume.
  9. Well done, I think you have captured the feel of one of the weirdest buildings ever.
  10. Impressive firepower! The ships look very much like original sets. The last two cannons close to the steering wheel look a bit exaggerated though. Maybe smaller brickbuilt ones?
  11. Yes, that would be great. Warriors with fur coats, horses with blankets etc.
  12. I am sorry but I don't understand what you mean by forest theme. Who lives there? Edit: Ahh, I saw the forest polive station, so I gather it's a town theme.
  13. I can't believe how many new weapons this brings: - golden dagger - Was this available before? - golden axe - Looks longer than the common axe, but it may be an illusion. - weird snake sword thing - Useful for beating the dust out of carpets? - snake staff - Don't really like it. - staff with 2 golden blades on top (visible at the Jay ZX booster pack) - This is my favourite new one, good for all wizards. - dragon sword in a booster pack will lower its price on bricklink - ninja three spiked hand thing, forgot the name - Very useful for lances, staffs, etc. I wish they would introduce that many new weapons in kingdoms.
  14. I like the light house and the coral reef a lot! Very well done!
  15. Thanks. It ran as a powerpoint presentation projected to a big screen while my girlfriend and I spoke the dialogue I wrote through microphones, so that everyone in the audience of a about 90 people could hear our voices as the minifigs dialoque. It is common here to celebrate the evening part of a wedding in locations with stage, projector, screen, sound system and so on. The original (German) dialogue I wrote is much longer and contains many allusions to the couple and their ideosyncracies. Here on Eurobricks, I just wrote a few sentences so everyone can roughly understand what this is about. In two weeks, there is another friend's wedding (4 this year), where I will use LEGO to make a sort of quiz for the couple. Well yeah, it's an octopus without sea in sweden, not zoologically accurate. At the time the octopus was a very affordable beast in a small pirate set, so I just used it :-) It was released afterwards and continued its incredible journey which had brought it to Sweden. No animals were harmed in the making of this film.
  16. I wonder if the roman's spear is the spear elaborate we already know from the Indian ans Spartan. It would welcome it because it would decrease their price on bricklink maybe and I need a lot for my elven army. However, a new type of spear - someone mentioned a pilum - would also excite me. Does Statue of Liberty look like she has not the usual female bottom? The angle looks different on the picture? What do you think? I hope she is still sand green. [Edit: it was just my eyes, I confused it with the thing the holds in her hand) I will get 6-8 Minotaurs, 3 Statues of Liberty to make forest spirits and that is it. I am also excited about the tower shield of the Roman. I like the shape, but the colour is not suitable for my elves. Maybe for customizing but we'll see. I have always loved the roman turtle formation, where the whole regiment is covered by shields. So maybe I'll hunt them down for spears and shields and sell the rest. 2,50 per fig is unfortunately too much if I were only interested in the spears.
  17. Hi Everyone, what brought me out of the dark ages was the need to create something to be performed at a wedding. Where I live, it is common that friends make creative things as a program for the wedding party. So I recreated an event which had happened to the marrying couple years before in LEGO, with some alterations to enhance suspense. I thought it might be entertaining for some of you, even it is not relevant in terms of buildmanship. I did this before I knew what MOC or AFOL even means. The story is pretty self-explanatory, so I won't translate the original dialogue I read at the wedding. An Incident at Kraken Creek 1 von MWardancer The young couple is on holiday in Sweden. 2 von MWardancer 3 von MWardancer 4 von MWardancer "I'll call for help on my cellphone!" 5 von MWardancer auf Flickr "No Reception, but I can enhance the antenna." 6 von MWardancer "It doesn't work, but I know how to enhance it even more." 7 von MWardancer "It didn't work, we'll have to empty the trunk to make the car lighter so we can get the car out of the mud." 8 von MWardancer "Oh woman, why did you need such a giant suitcase." 9 von MWardancer "Oh woman, did you have to bring the flowers on holiday?" 10 von MWardancer "My barbecue is of course necessary for every vacation we go on." 11 von MWardancer "The same is true for our tasty red wine bottles." 12 von MWardancer "Now it should work! The car is lighter now." 13 von MWardancer "Help! Help! A cheeky octopus has approached and tries to steal our red wine!!" 14 von MWardancer "I'll save you and the wine with my trusty pocketknife!" 15 von MWardancer "To many... arms. He is to strong for us!" 16 von MWardancer "Oh, a friend appears by coincidence. He can help us." 17 von MWardancer "We're also here to help." 18 von MWardancer "It's working! Hit the beast, hit it harder!" 19 von MWardancer All is well, the octopus is harnessed to get the car out."
  18. I like him the way he is! I imagine him a bit aged and well fed, like this specimen:
  19. Atlantis Queen von MWardancer auf Flickr Atlantis Queen - So terrifying a beauty to behold that most mortal men ... hold their ... breath ... forever. (I should add that no glue is involved here. The red part can be stuck unto the back of the manta head, so I think I obeyed the non-modding rule.)
  20. This is soooo... wonderful. Maybe I'll tr a panther one day, because they are just black without stripes :-) There is no chance that I will ever manage to get stripes as acurate as you.
  21. Something like this:
  22. Not too many that I would be capable of: - printing on fabric would be great but this would most likely be either very expensive or in a bad quality - painting on fabic or paper would work but requires a level of skill I don't have - printing on paper or trasnfer sheets could work
  23. I like the asassins dagger!
  24. The orc banners are great, I wish there were some of these for every faction. I am also hoping for the joust set to have a big banner for the lions. Games Workshop used to produce decal banners, most likely I'll use these for my elves.
  25. This is great! I like the stairs a lot. It really has a feeling of Diablo.
