Hello, mine has worked the first day for more than one hour, the next day a couple of minutes. It was not very stable.
My pendulum was like in the book. The weight was more than mentioned. See my pictures, i used a couple of old basic motors.
I ordered your book via Amazon and have read it with great attention. It is a book with a lot of depth which is very interesting. In the meantime I have learned a lot about the topics discussed. As icing on the cake I have built your simple clock. As weight I have used old lego basic motors and for the pendulum 2 wheels. Thank you for sharing this magnificent work.
I recently bought set 852 (helicopter) and saw that the instructions are printed on some sort of poster in stead of a booklet.
I am looking for the folded poster instructions of sets 851 and 853 that were issued in 1977. From 1978 these were replaced by a booklet with more detailed instructions. If someone has this it would be nice if you could make a good photo or scan of it.
From set 850 I found these online at brickfactory.info
Here is an example of 851 I found online in bad quality.
I've 2 trucks with the same problem after some time. The solution was to replace the blue pump with the newer reinforced version from set 42080. When you contact Lego they replace it for free.
