  1. What's with all this corruption? Talk about unfair play! I voted for TheBrickster a while ago, but I want to revoke that and give it to Hinckley now.
  2. I'm in all agreement....ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  3. Ah, very nice MOC. Certainly worthy of the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage! I especially like that ripple in there. Well done!
  4. Brilliant! I love this Zorro! This is certainly frontpage material. I love your use of a red baseball cap for blood. Thanks heaps for sharing mate!
  5. It all depend on the good man himself!
  6. Ok fellas, back on topic. One thing we can say is that you'll like it, and it's worth throwing some ideas around in your noggins already...
  7. I don't know about holding many secrets, but it sure holds a lot of crap! Gah, I love the Beatles.
  8. Canberra. Are you planning on heading to Brickvention 2010? Although if we go to Melbourne we might get Swine Flu. Bu I suppose it might be cheaper to make a bulk order and post from Sydney to Canberra or vice versa anyway.
  9. Congratulations my friend! Not undeserved either. I'm glad that after discussion it has been decided to promote you. A better image for CP too if we actually have an Admiral, not an Honourary Citizen and a Vice. Well done!
  10. I think we are just as likely to see sets from this as we are from LEGO Rock Band. Probability=0. That's not to say that I wouldn't like sets from these themes - a scotsman would be awesome! That fig looks great and it would be wonderful to see it in the flesh...or plastic...
  11. The problem is that the speed control is greyed out? I use CS2, so I might not be that useful...
  12. Where in Melbourne did they suggest?
  13. I agree there, but I meant we have the monopoly on theme forums in an all-theme forum.
  14. Have you got a link to that CGH?
  15. I think Eurobricks already has the monopoly on theme forums. It has a great driving force behind it too. Lugnet maybe died out a little, and most other forums that have attempted to do the world-wide LEGO forum thing have kinda drowned in EB's wake... The reason Eurobricks is so popular is that everyone is here to discuss LEGO in a friendly way, and the few rules that the site has, people obey in order to keep that friendlieness. EB is a great community, and the users respect that. That's why the community feel is maintained.Well, that's what I think anyway.
  16. Ok, after PMing the voice in the skythinking about things, I have come to the conclusion that N1 is good to go as a replacement for T1!
  17. Correct. Everyone has arrived on main street is one way or another.
  18. Hehehehe, good man. He knows if he asks someone to shoot my sigfig, I'll sink his ship with my Grandeur. I suppose I have to complete her first though... Looking good mate. I'm looking foward to the end result.
  19. Hey everyone, and welcome to another episode of ‘Behind the Helm’, the new interview series from Classic-Pirates.com. I’m Connor Hicks, aka Captain Zuloo, and over the past few weeks I have been on the lookout for some of the most interesting personalities in the LEGO Pirate community in the hope that we can dig up their pirate-y stories. C-P: Today I'm talking to the likes of Taylor Green, previously known as HMS243 in the online community but now as Admiral Béjaune. With 23 years of experience in the LEGO hobby, he is a shipbuilder to be reckoned with. Welcome to the sow mate! Admiral Béjaune: Ah, thanks Connor. C-P: So, let's start with a little introduction. I understand you live in a seafaring port somewhere in Florida, USA with all the wenches and sunlight you could wish for. Admiral Béjaune: Yes the sunny shores of Pensacola, right on the gulf of mexico. C-P: And what feeds your LEGO addiction? Admiral Béjaune: I have an obsession with the age of sail, and I always read up on anything that has to do with it, and every ship model or painting that I see I immediately think to myself "that would look cool in built in LEGO". And usually Bricklink feed the obsession! C-P: What feeds your Bricklink orders? What do you do for a living? Admiral Béjaune: Right now I have a few ventures that put food on the table. C-P: Well, aside from food (It's dinner time and you're making me hungry! ) when did LEGO come into your life? Admiral Béjaune: I was about 4 or 5 years old, and for my birthday I was given the Caribbean Clipper as a gift from my parents. That started the addicition. C-P: Hahaha, they created a moster! Has Pirates always been your favourite theme? Admiral Béjaune: Oh yeah! When I think of LEGO I think of Pirates... C-P: Do you have a favourite Pirate set? Admiral Béjaune: Oh, thats a tough one.... I would say Black Seas Barracuda, Eldorado Fortress is in close second. The funny thing is, I didn't have either one of those sets when I was a kid, I just recently bought them in the past two years. C-P: Well they were good purchases! Do you have a favourite faction of the Classic theme? Admiral Béjaune: I would have to say that the Bluecoats are my favorite faction, but when I was a kid it definatly was the pirates! C-P: What do you think of the new 2009 Pirates line? Admiral Béjaune: Hang on, my compputer is doing something wierd. C-P: What, is it interviewing you? No? Oh, that's me... My bad. Admiral Béjaune: I like the new pirate line. Especially the new minifigs, they have some great mocing pieces in the sets as well. C-P: And of those sets, which is your favourite? Admiral Béjaune: I would have to say the soldiers fort, but Brickbeard's Bounty comes in close second. C-P: A few months ago, you entered your Dark Ages...what was the story there? Admiral Béjaune: Well I had recently moved and my LEGO did not make the trip with me. I had also just started up a buisness, so I was busy getting that rolling. C-P: Well I'm happy you're back! Are you working on any MOCs at the moment? Admiral Béjaune: Well I just finished up on my ship, the Sang Royale. She just needs a few touches and I'll offically post her, but I have been working on a 38 gun frigate. I also have another large project I have started on... :pir-skull: C-P: Cool, I look foward to seeing those MOCs! Have you got any other comments you'd like to make before I kick you off the show[/i]the interview ends? Admiral Béjaune: It's great being back, I have a few up and coming projects that I'm very excited about, and it should put the Bluecoats on top and keep them there forever! C-P: Ok, well to close things off, where did your screen name - no, screen names come from? Admiral Béjaune: I needed somthing more rememberable than hms243 so I had it change to Admiral Béjaune. Béjaune means greenhorn in French, and since the master shipbuilder (CGH) is showing me some pointers on shipbuilding, that makes me a greenhorn. Ha even thought I have been building for quite some time now! C-P: Ok, well thanks heaps for your time matey. It's been great to learn more about the famous Admiral Béjaune! Thank you very much for taking the time to share your story. And we'll catch the rest of ye scurvy dogs in the next swashbuckling episode of 'Behind The Helm'!
  20. Great job sherrif! But I have a question: where did you aquire the extra tan train windows to build your two cars when there is only enough for 1 car in 10194?
  21. Ok, I may have missed something, but why do we need to switch any tracks? The Emerald Express is already on the mainline, so why is there any requirement at all to switch any points? I thought all was needed was a new Johnson Rod?
  22. Thank you for your kind words Adam! We'll discuss this on the frontpage further in the Yard.
  23. Hey everyone, and welcome to another episode of 'Behind the Helm', the new interview series from Classic-Pirates.com. I'm Connor Hicks, aka Captain Zuloo, and over the past few weeks I have been on the lookout for some of the most interesting personalities in the LEGO Pirate community in the hope that we can dig up their pirate-y stories. C-P: Today I have the pleasure of interviewing Eurobricks Global Moderator and MOC Expert Rick Bewier, known as Captain Green Hair on the Pirate forum. Welcome to the Show Rick. CGH: Hello Connor! C-P: So to start the ball rolling, where did your LEGO hobby start? CGH: LEGO for me started when I was about 6. I remember getting the Black Falcon fortress from my grandparents and it was my first large set. Throughout childhood I never had many other toys, I always asked for LEGO for birthdays and Christmas. C-P: Would you say you have favourite theme? If so, what is it, and why? CGH: Well, LEGO has many great themes like Trains, Town, Castle and some pretty cool licensed lines as well. They all have certain aspects that I like, but my favourite theme has to be Pirates. When they came out in 1989 I went to a LEGO show in a local department store and I saw this big ship there. Ever since that moment I have been building bigger and bigger pirate ships. As a child I never had prefab hull pieces, all was brick built. I regret I have no pictures of any of those models. C-P: A shame indeed. So how did you wind up on Eurobricks? What do you do there? CGH: Well I found Classic-Pirates.com first. When I saw that they were discussing my ship The Denise, I decided to join and reply in the thread. I kinda flew through the ranks being made a Fellow within 6 months, and just shortly after I became a moderator as there was a shortage of staff then. At the time we had a lot of spammers and members that were just too young to be here. So we had a few very busy weeks making the forum more organized. We still work on organizing the forums better and upgrading the quality level of posts made in discussions held in the various theme and other forums. C-P: Ah yes, the Denise was a lovely ship. Are you working on any MOCs at the moment? CGH: Currently I am working on the Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim in minifig scale. I have started almost a year ago and I will need another year the least to finish her. The plan is to display her at LEGOworld 2010 in Holland. Then there is always my project list, which is just too long to write down. C-P: I wish I could be there, but Holland is just a little too far from Down Under! Do you look up to anyone in the LEGO Pirate community as far as MOCing goes? CGH: Slyowl and Sirnadroj are very good at creative use of parts and making lively scenes, I really enjoy their work. I also think we have some of the best shipbuilders in the world on our forum like Teddy, Errorist and Phred. C-P: Indeed we do. Some of the ships our members are producing now-days are unbelievable! Do you have any particular activities you enjoy outside of the LEGO hobby? CGH: Riding my motorcycle, sailing, swimming, painting, beer and hanging out with friends. C-P: Ah, a real pirate! Well, maybe without the motorcycle bit. What do you think of the Classic-Pirates.com blog? CGH: I think you guys are doing a good job at keeping it updated. I must admit I don't use it that much as I'm always on the forum anyway, but when one is a regular reader of the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage and not the Pirate forum, they wouldn't miss out on much! C-P: Thank you very much! I'll pass the compliment onto the team! So where did you get the inspiration for your famous sigfig? CGH: Well the name came first, so I just needed a pirate with green hair. I also like that big scimitar, so I was glad when I found 1 in chrome silver and that I no longer have to knit wigs with the now used green joker hairpiece on the 2009 version of him. C-P: And finally, where did your username come from? CGH: One time I was sailing when I fell overboard. When I came out of the water I had some weeds in my hair. Then one of my shipmates called me ''Groen Haar'', which means Green Hair in Dutch. C-P: Hahaha, well that is an interesting tale to tell! Well thank ye very much for taking the time to be interviewed Rick, I'm sure we all learnt something from you. Good luck with your future MOCs, and keep us all posted! And we'll see you guys in the next episode of 'Behind The Helm'. Yargh, all the best!
  24. Sadly, fuel isn't the main issue. The missing 'crocodile rod' is. Unless you know where we could find one of them, I'm afraid that there loco is a tad useless.
  25. Hahahaha, you'll have hours of reading to catch up on.
