After not being able to find 4X4 curve pieces(http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=47878&colorID=85) on ebay at a good price and the quanity i need(8), i've decided to venture onto BL to possibly buy something for the first time ever from the site. I know a lot about buying from eBay(bought stuff earlier this month and tracking an auction as i'm typing this.) and have bought several things(lego and non-lego), however, I have no clue to how BL works and wondering if anyone could let me know a few things: 1) How can I tell if a seller accepts paypal as a payment option? I like using paypal since it's a quick tidy process that's safe. And what about shipping costs? 2)Is there any sellers that are highly recommended or not recommended? Why? 3) Also as a note: I'd appreciate no tips that are along the lines of "Compare prices", "watch shipping costs", "see if combined shipping is offered" or "check seller ratings". i've shopped on eBay enough that these are on the top of my "to check list" when I begin looking around for more then just one item from a seller. Oh, and for those curious on why i need 8, i'm interested in making my own hot tub like the one at the Brickhouse: http://www.reasonablyclever.com/2006/10/27/10272006/

Flickr seems to be the most popular but I like photobucket. I didn't know it was this unstable either. I began having problems when I was trying to view a couple images from the storage/sorting topic yesterday.

Fedex must be getting a little to lazy to KNOCK on the door when delivering an item. I've been in the living room almost the entire morning and it turns out that they delivered the package but I never heard the guy know. It wasn't until I checked my package status that I discovered that it was delivered.

The Evolution of LEGO sorting
Legofan4ever88 replied to Lego Otaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
By color is a good idea if it's combined w/ by type(or general type). By itself, I don't really see that as a good method since it'd be really hard to track done a specific piece in a sea of yellow for example. -
Well, my 6 free figures came in. Someone or something at fedex stepped on my package(Lots of dirt tracks) but the contents are fine. I got the skateboarder(Wanted him bad), 2 ice hockey guys(new), Viking(new), surfer(have her), and the hazmat dude(new).

LEGO in today's Foxtrot comic
Legofan4ever88 replied to Lego Otaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Makes me wonder just how many legos this kid has. a giant brick uses up a lot of bricks -
I had some lego heads come in and the 2 female double sided heads are like that. The smily face gender neutral and glasses gender neutral have the normal heads. I have 2 older lego exoforce heads come in earlier in the month but those where also normal heads.

Lego definatly got in contact w/ Fedex and DHL. Not only did my PAB get here but the max keychain and figures. Freebie items are still in route. I got the sailor, an artist, and the mad scientist from the figures i ordered. Sailor and scientis are new. I hope in my Free set that i'll find a skateboarder or I may turn to ebay. The Skater is the one I really want. But for now, I'm off to assemble my lego whiskey tangos.

Well, I didn't buy anything, but i've hit the lego Jackpot. I emailed lego on my shipping problem and I got an email back from lego this morning. Unless the number is a typo, I'm getting SIX FREE figures PLUS a FREE keychain of my choice(Chewbaca) PLUS the goodies are being shipped EXPRESS AND will be Bypassing the "Smart" post sorter. Looks like lego REALLY wants to keep a customer b/c that's a lot of money that's running them. That's 19.97 for shipping plus 4.99 for the keychain and if it is 6 free figures, that's another 17.94. And my pt one package is in the next state over, the shipping day has been pushed UP by one day(14th instead of 15th), PLUS they're forwarding my complaint to Fedex and DHL. And pt 2 is traveling everywhere. First poland, then new york jfk, then new jersey and now it's in Brooklynn. And if they come through w/ the promised stuff and my items(orginal order), lego has offically earned a legoshop.com buyer back.

These look really cool, but they aren't really something that would be majorily popular here in the US unless the machines could be fitted with a dollar bill slot. I doubt a lot of people haul around large amounts of quarters unless at an arcade or on vacation and are pressed penny collectors and dollar coins aren't popular here. out of all the searching with articles on the subject I did, I could only find a few people that actually use the coins instead of bills. As far as the random minifigure one, i'd probably be interested in the first couple i'd get but then i'd probably turn to the lego store or ebay to find exactly what i'm after.

You could put the cat together w/ small animals and the BP w/ minifigure accessories or have a designated drawer for misc pieces.
-
duct tape residue could probably be taking care of w/ warm water and elbow grease or some sort of "Goo b gone" product.
-
Why not duct tape and cardboard? You could cut strips of cardboard and tape them in place w/ duct tape. It wouldn't cost very much. A lot of businesses will let you have old cardboard boxes(like for transporting the stuff that goes on shelves) for no cost plus the duct tape doesn't cost much for a roll. And as another bonus, you can switch up the way it's set up as your needs change pretty easily. However, you may want to have a small pair of scissors on hand for the duct tape. The stuff doesn't always tear easily.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Legofan4ever88 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't think that production should be cut back but perhaps the quanity better distributed among businesses. Lego should get the stores that sell said lego minifigures to send them a report on how many boxes they got, number of figures sold, how long it took to see the amount, and maybe even how many of the previous series were left when the new boxes were sent. That way, places w/ lots of left over will get a little less while stores selling out could get more. Not only will lego not have to cut back but it could encourage more sales for lego w/ people not going to ebay looking for any packs. I know people can just order from the lego site, but not everyone is big into credit cards and Check by mail can take a little longer then people want. -
*looks at brickapedia* WOW! That's one sweet set CF Weazzel And as far as my "Plus I have plans of buying 5 hair pieces, 5 heads, 7 torsos, 7 pants, 6 flower stems(the ones that go w/ the flowers), a few lego series 4 figures, and I'm thinking about maybe a keychain from legoshop.com. Unless something unforseen arises, I will be putting money on a greendot card tomorrow." line, I have an update. I just placed my order and the keychain I got was a Max keychain. I really wanted a max minifigure but I can't find one at a reasonable price on ebay. I would of said i was gonna said a max but I was in fear of a sudden buying rush. For now, I'll leave max on the chain. I'd rather have him on the chain and safe in my minifigure storage bin then risk ruining the figure.

I bought 2 lego orange bowl hair cut pieces, an angry face exoforce head, a happy face head(these parts are for 2 whiskey tango heads. i'm a huge RC comic fan) plus 3 light blue and 3 pink flowers from "FindMyBrick" on ebay yesterday. Paypal is processing. I also have 2 free lego horses coming in from lego. I emailed asking when/if more horses would come into stock on the site(I was planning on buying a couple) and said how heading to a lego store isn't an option since it's a 4-6+ hour drive to the lego store(I was 100% honest) and I got a response saying they're sending me 2 so I "don't have to worry about driving to a LEGO store, or waiting for the status of the part to change". Talk about a real bargin. Plus I have plans of buying 5 hair pieces, 5 heads, 7 torsos, 7 pants, 6 flower stems(the ones that go w/ the flowers, a few lego series 4 figures, and I'm thinking about maybe a keychain from legoshop.com. Unless something unforseen arises, I will be putting money on a greendot card tomorrow.

How Many Minifigs do you own?
Legofan4ever88 replied to Millacol88's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Except for 4 scuba divers in a different container and the 2 unsures in a small container, they're all mixed between 3 containers(one has about 6 in it but that container is about to get an organizing session so those figs will be put in one of the other 2 soon.). I was orginally thinking about seperating them, but I know i'd just wind up w/ them mixed up sooner or later. -
I have a couple of questions. 1) if i'd upload an image to facebook then transfer it to photobucket, will I still be able to enter the contest with said image? and 2) Can I enter a photo taken w/ a nintendo DSi XL system(that's why I need to use FB)? I can take great images with my nintendo system as long as I take my time and am careful w/ the lighting. I have more then one image that's on par w/ a digital camera I usually use. If it wouldn't be for the fact that the SD port on the laptop doesn't work anymore(not sure why) and the desktop went belly up on us, i would enter a digtal cam photo.

Could free stuff from lego be counted as a lucky find? If so, I have one. I wanted to order 2 lego horses from the PAB online department. i sent an email asking when or if the horses would come back into stock and I got this email back last night: "Thank you for contacting us on 05/25/11 and for your interest in LEGO® brand products. I'm sorry to hear you were having difficulty finding the parts you wanted in our Pick a Brick system. Sometimes parts become unavailable in the PAB system because we are running low on quantity, or have stopped manufacturing the part. There can be many reasons. I have looked up this particular part, for the white horse, and we are running slightly low on quantity right now. However, we do have more than two :) I have sent two of part 4121830 out for you so you don't have to worry about driving to a LEGO store, or waiting for the status of the part to change. If you ever come across other parts that are unavailable in the Pick a Brick palette, don't hesitate to request the part number through our parts replacement here: http://us.service.lego.com/en-US/replacementparts/default.aspx We can check the quantities of the parts you need and get back to you with a quote. Although we usually ask people to pay for replacement pieces I'm sending these for free - so now you can get building and have fun! Your LEGO parts are on their way from our warehouse in Denmark and should be with you in 7 to 10 business days. Thank you again for contacting us. We wish your family many happy hours of creative building with LEGO brand toys in the years to come. Sincerely, Allyson LEGO Direct Consumer Services" OMG! Is that lucky or what. :D I can't believe that happened. All I asked was when it'd be back in stock and said how the closet store is quite a drive from us so that really isn't an option(100% honesty here) and I'm getting 2 horses free O_O

How Many Minifigs do you own?
Legofan4ever88 replied to Millacol88's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Does anyone think they can multiply like bunnies? I just did my first tally recently. If my math is right, I have 140 males, 18 females, 2 of unsure gender, and 4 skeletons. Plus I have 2 male heads + hair in order from eBay and plans of getting not only the parts to finish the heads from the lego site but also the parts for 5 more figures(4 for me and one for a family member) That order will add 3 males and 4 girls. Where did all the figures come from?
