My next project is the Bulls Knights The Bulls don´t really have any castle or home. Instead they are plundering their way in the countryside, far away from the any castle. This time they have just breached the gates into one of the Black Knights villages. It´s only three soldiers in the garrison so the villagers themselves have to defend their village and their life. The Bulls are known to leave no one alive... more pics here when modded http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=482548 hope you like it!

Wow so beutiful! I really like the wet sand on the beach, the crane, the big emblem on the side and the soldier putting some more coal in the fire!!! Great job!!

Well practise is the best way in my opinion. Bild and build again! Then of course you can borrow ideas from the internet and other places and perhaps modify them for your own!

The Lego Castle Crusaders Sets 1984-1992
de Gothia replied to SirSven7's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great article! Really loved your first one and this is no exception! So much nostalgia! Makes me want to rebuild all the great sets I have! I´m really missing the guarded inn and knights joust in my collection! -
Does Kingdoms live up to Castle expectations?
de Gothia replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think it´s great! The best castle-line since 1995 according to me. The fantasy line was really blah! Orcs, skeletons and dwarfs was not something for me (don´t really count mmv into fantasy line). In Kingdoms two humans factions with some great colour scheme is fighting each other! Two civilian setsPrety much like the crusaders vs black falcons in the beginning. I really hope they continue with Kingdoms next year and that they maybe as said before introduce a new human faction. (I would love something like the wolfpacks) -
I really like it alot! It has some country side feeling to it! The roof is very nice, looks like the thatcher have to visit the blacksmith! How does the lighting work? Official piece?

Thank guys! I also like the fact the combining the old with some new thing gives an extra something! :) Yes Zijin, there are both Brickforge and Brickarms in there. I´ve fallen in love with the great helm from Brickforge. They are superior to Legos I think. The custom shields are both from Fryslayer on BS and from classic-castle. I have printed them on paper with glue on one side. Don´t know the real word for it... And then I attach it to the shield. It´s usually Islanders shield I´ve used. The banners are made in the same way. I´ve used paper made for Tshirt printing and printed my banner on some old sheet. And yup I split the crownies, they were so many any way and those poor Lions didn´t have so many.. And regarding sizes I totally agree with you Skipper. It´s much more fun to see smaller armies with different characters then huge one where each soldier kind of blur in to the others... hehe zijin, I like your videos with the package your receving, reminds me o myself a couple of years ago!

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
de Gothia replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like the fact that you put so much effort in details in every single thing you build! Like the stair in the basement in the pub! The door down to wine cellar is magnificent! -
Historical accuracy of castle minfigs and equipment?
de Gothia replied to ziljin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I guess you have to wait very long then! I´m guessing Lego will not make any religious war as the templars vs saracens was... -
Again, thank you so much! I like the soundtrack you posted BlueBard. It fitted well in to my scene! I collected all my minifigs a couple of years ago on www.tradera.com (a Swedish smaller version of Ebay) and there you could do some real bargins! But now days they are real expensive so I´m glad I picked so many castle and minifigs up when they were cheap!

Thanks for the comments! Yeas, the custom things from fryslayer are great!
-
Really classic style as said before! Like the colour scheme alot!! The palmtree is a little in the way for the stair!

So my next faction is waiting! This time it´s the Forestmen Little do they care about the upcoming war in the kingdom. They live in peace in the forest and they live of the forest. Today there is a party near the old oak and everyone has come! Of course there are some guards watching, no one takes a forestmen of guard! more pics here when modded: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=481424 Hope you like it! Capes are from Fryslayer

Thanks guys! Really means alot! I couldn´t keep my fingers away from my Lego when I was sorting it so the Forestmen moc should be done in a couple of days... I Scream Clone: Funny you mentioned it. I´ve discussed it back on Swebrick and we thought that it would be better with just plates highlighting the tan and dark gray. So it´s an advice I´m carring on to my next castle. The courtyard yes, it actually looks a bit dull when you see it on the pics but my intention was to make it look very clean. But as you say it could have been more livilier with 1x1 bricks. Appriciate your thoughts!

Thanks again! I´m glad you all like it! Well, as some of you have pointed out the arrowslits are a little low. I built the whole castle and landscape in modules. Which means that the castle was done before the landscape was. The arrows slits are that low because I wanted to break up the wall a bit and avoid the Big Gray Wall Syndrome. When the landscape came on to the castle they were even lower!!
-
Thanks again! Hehe, the hand of God, I saw that to late.. A thumb in the eye for me! Now I´m cleaning my Lego attic so I can be in there! My next faction will be built after that..
-
Really cool tshirts! One question though. Is Lego ok with tehese? After all, it´s their designs and if your shirt get´s to production another company will benefit from Legos designs..
-
Lovely! Like the cavesystem, with dark and light gray, it really looks like the dwarfs have been working down there (a long time ago!) The wagon is my favourite! The barrel on top is also really nice!
-
Thank you for the kind words! The wall in the back is supposed to be a little lower. I imagine Marions castle/manor in Robin Hood Prince of the Thieves. Hehe, the guy behind the tree is actually a large dwarf from the new minifig serie. Took of the beard, gave him tall legs and a hairpiece and he was great! The garden gnomes hat is perfect for the Forestmen and I´m quite happy how he turned out!

I great build indeed! I like the tudor houses. Gives the castle a cosy, medieval touch! de Gothia

The White Lions Leader of this faction is the son of the Queen, Richard. The castle lies close to the forest where the Forestmen lives. Today the soldiers and knights are practising and Richard himself is watching and giving tips. Hope you like it! de Gothia more pics here when modded: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=480800

My best deal was on internet a couple of years ago. I found a big lot of lego on www.blocket.se (a smaller version of ebay here in Sweden) and saw 3739 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=3739-1 on one picture. I asked the seller how much it costed and he told me he wanted 250 kr (~25 euro) for it. I picked it up and found it complete and with box and instructions! de Gothia

I just ordered one Escape from Dragon's Prison, one Blacksmith attack and two mill village raids. Now it´s just the waiting... de Gothia
