  1. I really don’t like Ninjago, I feel TLG is running out of ideas for it so I doubt it’ll survive the 2020’s
  2. Sounds interesting, I’d have brought it…
  3. You remember that Lego unnamed resistance pilot? Well turns out he’s actually in the movie! His name’s Teene Next is another we can make, Edon Kappehl We can use Firestar’s Garvin helmet for him We can also use the ucs falcon Han’s head for him if you want the breathing mask Finally there’s Spennie, now we never see her face so she’s easier Use ucs Leia’s head And the Microfighters U-wing helmet You can use the regular resistance body and legs afterwards for both These will fill up your bomber seats
  4. Oh no, believe me, it could easily pull off all of that (and maybe more) if given the chance... ...I mean, as far as genre representation within Lego playthemes goes, such a theme at its fullest potential could do for Pulp-Era adventure fiction what Ninjago has done for Martial Arts and Japanese Pop Culture. I’m not sure how I feel about Johnny Thunder fighting pharaohs, industrial mining and exploring the galaxy in one theme… But it’s literally having 1999’s ninja fighting Jailbreak Joe, Brickbeard, Blacktron, Eruptorr, Amset-Ra, a t-Rex and king Leo in one theme! I agree but one misconception Atlantis replaced power miners, Pharaoh’s quest replaced Atlantis, alien conquest replaced pharaohs quest and Dino replaced alien conquest
  5. Nor can adventures give you all of those
  6. In your opinion Hmm, I’m not sure, uniting stuff like power miners, Atlantis and monster fighters kinda reminds me of something cough cough one year city themes cough cough
  7. Yikes! David and Lucarex have said so much on this but I’ll leave it brief: Hidden Side had two waves! Monster fighters only had one
  8. Everyone else: It’s the end times me: I’m actually really happy and excited! No seriously, a company has owned bricklink for years so it’s nothing new
  9. People have always had phones, and aren’t we forgetting the gothic 30’s out there style monster fighters had? That I’m not sure aged well
  10. Oh David, you’re a nice guy and all but I wonder if you research this… Take Lego 75104 for example: Kylo Ren’s command shuttle, it was well designed, well built and was fine to play with BUT IT WAS NOTHING LIKE IT’S MOVIE COUNTERPART! So this year they made 75256 kylo Ren’s shuttle it was well designed, well built and was fine to play with and it was perfectly accurate to its movie counterpart! Lego make changes every time they release a new Star Wars set to make them more and more movie accurate If Lego cancelled Star Wars then they’d have never been able to fix the problems that the original had! Edits and remakes happen for good reason!
  11. Sets are still good without the app and I wouldn’t say too many current trends, people have been wearing beanies, varsity jackets and baseball caps for decades!
  12. Nostalgia probably Not really ‘greatly remembered’ it was one of those short themes that people liked but never really acknowledged too much kinda like Power Miners, Atlantis, Dino Attack, Dino…
  13. City buildings have been seen in friends cartoons but crossing themes over isn't new Have you seen the robot chronicles? You play as a tiny turbo fighting with agents in Lego city with creator buildings! I’ll probably do that too, I don’t need such a weirdly scaled monster truck
  14. I know, bringing up old topics is kinda frowned upon but I found this interesting I originally kept it secret, until it got found out and everyone at first bullied me But they eventually brought me LEGO for my birthdays
  15. I agree! Only good set in the theme, I like how you can fit newer trains inside
  16. Where to begin with this? World City CG Base had so many huge parts The set has too many of these parts and not that many small parts Do I need to explain? Let's take this police car, it's a simple set and a better set to find criticisms with 1. The wheels are far too small 2. The tyres are too slick, making it look far more like a race cars 3. The whole figure doesn't fit in causing his head to jut out 4. The bumper is too flat for the overly curved lights 5. The radiator grill juts out too far 6. It has pointless pertruding slopes rather randomly jutting out 7. The windscreen is too blocky for the sleek design the designer was going for 8. The car is very long and flat causing it to look squashed 9. The headlights are rather oddly placed behind the figure 10. (And most impotantly) IT HAS NO ROOF!!!! First off, Shinkansen was a very sleek train and comparing 4511's flat front and weird chin is nothing like Shinkansen or the design of it Now lets talk about 4512, I had little experience with such motors so I doon't know their quality Forklift: That thing is a mess, the seats do not work as mudcaps and the wheels are incredibly awkwardly proportioned, it lacks a roof and the driver is completely unprotected Flatbed Those are the most impractical and ugly crates I've ever seen and the flatbed is incredibly lumpy Hopper It's ugly, undersized and hads no cargo to tip Boxwagon It's the best thing in the set by far but why does it have a cockpit? The Train BLEH! It suffers from bland colour syndrome, in this case old grey! It's in the whole set but it's worst on the train because it outshadows the litle green on the set, making the green look tacked on and thrown on, making the train incredibly ugly I'd say WC is up there with JS, Galidor and Znap! as one of Lego's worst themes and shows the neverending struggle in the late 90s - early 2000s to make good sets
  17. ‘In 2012, it was reported that The LegoGroup had become the world's most valuable toy company ahead of Mattel with a value at over $14.6 billion.’ Not that poor though
  18. None of them look good! Yeesh! Who ruined your day? That smile is uncomfortably creepy Did he really need a nose? I know it's Timmy from Time Twisters but every figure had noses then, here it's just him (Bang bang bang) FBI OPEN UP! His suit is so messy! Like, has he just woken up also, who ruined his day? He looks like he'd fire you on the spot! That's kinda racist Those pupils! What is he on? (Almost every WC fig had wide eyes) He's a train worker? I wouldn't trust him on one, he looks a little 'out of it' Oh right, 2020 Lego, as long as they don't bring back these awful heads and vehicles, I'm mostly cool with it AND MAKE ANOTHER BUS! Please? Like a Double Decker one? How about a taxi? Like, one on it's own as a great vehicle, or another set like 8402, I've always wanted more normal civillian cars!
  19. City has the odd civillian set here and there, world city doesn't
  20. Agreed, it looks so edgy too, I'm so glad they got rid of 'edgelord black' for police sets, in other sets I don't mind but in police... I mean, World City is mostly rescue stuff...
  21. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! World City is one of THE WORST LEGO THEMES EVER! Where's the roof? And those wheels are way to small! Who squashed his helicopter? IS THAT A TANK?? And is that a station or a cylinder and a square? Someone needs to lay off all the doughnuts, what a fat looking truck! And those wheels are way to small! HOW BLOCKY!! The edgy van and the off road 4x4 sedan Is that a van or a block? And Police money transporter? It was bad in 2017 but it's worse here! And those wheels are way to small! That's not a fireboat! More of a speedboat A Jack Stone level build on a mound of sand! Mom! This train has an alsa! I've seen better looking trains in duplo! I actually kinda like this one... But other than the last one, I couldn't find a good world city set, I found an okay one, but it wasn't good World City is a poor theme and massively overated, not to mention, the theme was almost entirely rescue stuff, the rest was train stuff, no normal civillian stuff!
  22. It is also like saying Star Wars is Classic Space so....
  23. I find it unfair to lump all speed champions cars together 75879 has 24 stickers 75884 has 13 stickers 75890 has 8 stickers 75879 has 3 x as many stickers! It’s kinda unfair…
  24. 60% agreed Train shed = Awesome Cargo crane = Alright Station = Awful, one of the worst lego stations I've ever seen Oh I agree! The early years of City are where it was at it's best IMO, it feels like the successor to classic Early 80s - Early 90s (Classic) Town that World City and Town's City (It was a thing from 1997-2000, It's barely more complex than Jack Stone) never were WC was too edgy to be like Town TC was just too easy! As a pre Jack Stone (sub)theme, it would be fine if it was alongside Classic Town but it just feels too simple I read an old topic the other day here about early City sets, it was about Classic Town Fans praising Lego city for it's classic designs (See below quote) I would KILL (No not literally) for a Lego Flying Scotsman! Or The Mallard! (Screams) if The LEGO company made them... oh ho ho ho ho Yeah, Race is good but I want (Gasp Asajki, on topic? I know, how crazy... "How crazy!?" "Seriously Owen?") RACERS to return, more specifically, Tiny Turbos, they were so cool and I had SO MANY OF THEM!! My grandmother would take us to her local toy shop and we'd often get one, me and my brother LOVED them, we'd race them, chase them, the Shell ferrari ones were okay but the classic ones were so good! They had more character than Shell's latest sponsored Ferrari Racecar, they lost their individuality, once I would imagine cool racers (Who drives the street maniac? The big bling wheely? I could use a racer to describe everyone I know...) but now I see boring identitieless cars (Who drives the ferrari N65 Dela Cruise, Michael Schumacher by any chance, oh he's retired-WAIT WHAT!!?? Looks at 8144..) :hmp
