Heresy! All (mostly) jokes aside, talk with your son and think over if daddy can afford the ecto 1 set and for newer sets that he wants?
-
Did you not read my point about inflation? Well, I’m just going to throw your pricing argument out the window! 80’s money is different to 2019 money!

Agreed Buying a single train car is such a lame idea, also 30 1980’s dollars is 93 dollars in 2019, it would’ve only been 38 dollars if it’s 120 now They don’t run out that quickly All those sets are basically combined into one nowadays Combined to one too! 60098 has a log truck, two flatbeds, a railway crane, a digger, a road crossing, a hopper and two flatbeds! It comes with: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=4186870-1 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=4514-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0} https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=10128-1&name=Train Level Crossing&category=[Train][9V][World City] Plus two flatbeds and three vehicles! Lego don’t need to make forty sets when they can make one Something I agree with!? In some photos it looks good but it’s hideous mix of old grey and green, 3677 is of similar design with far superior colouring and style

Those are really underpriced…
-
They don’t just fail to work, they look hideous! The passenger train is so lumpy and the cargo train is an ugly coloured block

‘Aged as well as a glass of milk’ is a term that suits World City very well, from the roofless police car to the weird vests to the lumpy passenger train to the floatless boats, there are very few world city sets that lack a superior remake

My friend got it, it’s actually kinda meh 7738 is better but I’m defence of newer sets, 60166 and 60013 are also better sets than 7044

Not just any old coast guard base, 4210! 100% agreed by the way

World City IS City though! This: https://brickset.com/sets/7239-1/Fire-Truck was a World City that was rebranded for city! And man is that coast guard base lame, it’s an ugly mound of sand with a few bits stuck on, it’s like a Jack Stone set! This is a better version! https://brickset.com/sets/4210-1/Coast-Guard-Platform

100% agreed Though I do like the grain features and how you can transport it

I’d be all for that! More city sets means more opportunities for things they can make! This year and 2017 are tied for most city sets, we’ve also had more interesting sets in the above years

I’d say I agree but the demolition sets were far from as good as the old construction ones, the harbour from 2011 is great but the 2007 one is more industrial and main, the recent combine harvester… https://brickset.com/sets/60223-1/Harvester-Transport https://brickset.com/sets/7636-1/Combine-Harvester It’s not even a fair comparison! Some friends pretty much summed it up ’2005-2012 is definitely the best era for Lego city, really just Lego in general’

Sidenote, does anyone remember those great old huge construction sets? https://brickset.com/sets/7905-1/Building-Crane https://brickset.com/sets/7249-1/XXL-Mobile-Crane https://brickset.com/sets/7900-1/Heavy-Loader https://brickset.com/sets/7998-1/Heavy-Hauler https://brickset.com/sets/7344-1/Dump-Truck

What is the Status of LEGO Constraction?
Asajki replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Bionicle has a section in the Lego house and plenty of references in sets Constraction, pretty much the same But they are both gone, sadly -
I mean, I partly hope so too but Lego would find a way to screw it up And it has a bit of orange and the same logo, however this one doesn’t have the logo but it has the colours: https://brickset.com/sets/4207-1/City-Garage This one’s a stretch but it’s from the same wave: https://brickset.com/sets/8402-1/Sports-Car

Those were some great sets! But you do realise the second image is of a 2013 set? Also they had these https://brickset.com/sets/60081-1/Pickup-Tow-Truck https://brickset.com/sets/60097-1/City-Square And I can argue this next one goes well enough with the 2009 ones https://brickset.com/sets/60056-1/Tow-Truck

Yes because none have Power Miners, a Rock raiders reboot was done in city with similar qualities in 2017, 2018 and 2012’s mining and volcano explorers Alpha Team had Agents and Ultra Agents They all get rebooted, people seem to just overlook them

I’ve heard a billion people say they’ll work at Lego, sorry dude Also, please at grown up and don’t swear! Little kids definitely read this and probably join too, you seem to be acting very childish. I love original themes but you are wrong on a few things 1. There was a whole set dedicated to public transport, 8404 2. Lego change police up almost every year, and the designs for the police officers are always changing 3. Kids love action, good guys vs bad guys, car chases, these things are in a lot of popular kids things and are ever present in city, one of the few non story themes to have the idea of good vs bad 4. https://www.cheatsheet.com/money-career/popular-childhood-dream-jobs-pay-really-well-grow.html/ As the article shows, being a police officer is the fourth ranked job amongst kids, city is often about what kids want to be like, when I was younger, I would call my heroes after myself because I wanted to be like them 5. I’m actually annoyed with your post, first of all, I don’t want to be tagged, second, if you want to talk just ask me a question, reply, quote a post, which works better? A. ‘Eat my bricks’ B. ‘I disagree with you on that point because…’
-
I’m sick of the whole ‘city had to much police’ idea! Like seriously, it’s annoying! World City and Town had tons of police but everyone seems to moan just because City has some
-
So do I, so do I...
-
2. Because the fans? I don’t know
-
1. Kinda irrelevant, but alright 2. If story themes don't sell, why do Lego keep making them?
-
1. Hello David, nice to see you again 2. Kids like non licensed themes, Star Wars has lasted 20 years! DC has lasted 7 years! Marvel has lasted 7 years too! Other than ninjago, no story theme is really able to say that…
