Since BrickHeadz are returning next year with more licensed themes, I'm hopeful that we might get one or two Doctors (maybe finally the fan favorite tenth Doctor) but even then I have my doubts. Doctor Who is probably my favorite show of all time, but I think this was really a one-and-done deal.

I completely agree. I absolutely hate the greaser hair for him, it looks awful. Sirius Black or Han Solo are much better choices

Alright, so Barb is actually fairly "cheap" for SDCC standards. Less than $200 is a price I'm totally willing to pay for the figure, even though it still hurts knowing that it's just a small piece of plastic

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

They could make him a minifig for once, I hate bigfigs personally, so I would much rather have a minifigure that doesn't look like it's squatting all the time -

My thoughts exactly. Either these are based off of comics, or they'll just throw movie figures into builds that are completely made up. I'm hoping Thanos at least has his bald head this time around -
That would be quite a pricey snack... I'll stick to Joyce

I will buy one and yet I hate this exclusive crap so much. I would much rather spend $400 on something more useful, but since I'm a collector and this is one of my favourite franchises of all time, I don't really have a choice other than getting it. Yes, I'm happy we're getting Barb, NO I'm not happy that this will sell for double the price of the D2C. This is just bullsh..

I would totally be okay with that, it's just that Lego, in the past, has been known to only produce products based off of family friendly licenses. They were very strict with this rule up until recently, when they started doing a bit more risky stuff like Overwatch or James Bond. ST, however, is much worse than the other examples for one reason alone that it's rated (at least this newer season) TV-MA, the same rating as shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones or the Walking Dead.

I couldn't agree more, I have a feeling this eliminates all possibilities of another set in the future... oh well It is for sure, I doubt Lego knew this season would be rated TV-MA, otherwise, they wouldn't have advertised it as much as they did on their social media platforms But then again, you could always argue that the set is mainly based off of S1, with only the purple wizard hat being something strictly from S3. Each season almost feels like it's own movie, so Lego can probably get away with saying the first season was still family friendly enough for the one set

I wonder who that is, he sounds like a really nice guy

Haha, even though I totally adore both builds, I would've probably still bought the set day one even if it was only the figures and a UCS build of the "one big pile of s***"
-
Ordered mine about three hours ago with express delivery, I'm in Germany though - it wasn't available until 10 am for me

I think it's very obvious that there won't be a CMF Series for ST due to the adult nature of the show but it's entirely possible that there'll be a SDCC exclusive set or figure and I'm scared to death even thinking about that
-
Did you even read the quote of Mark Stafford? There were licensing problems with including either the Jeep or Ford Explorer, in addition to them not being scale to the gate / figures
-
I have a bad feeling about SDCC, they might make an exclusive set or figure for ST :(

As someone who has been a huge fan of Jurassic Park my entire life, having seen all three of the original films 175+ times each, I absolutely adore the set you created. It encaptures the feeling of the film in an amazing display model while still giving us a few minifig scaled vignettes in the back to place the figures in. And the brick built T.Rex is just a piece of art, it looks even more accurate to the movie Rex than the molded one without losing any posability. I've talked to a few other hardcore Jurassic Park- and Lego fans about this set too and most of them were really happy with the final product. I think the backlash isn't down to the product you created, but rather the expectations that many, many people have had that it would be a Visitors Center. You made me and a lot of other Jurassic fans very happy with this product :)

Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

I thought about that for a while too. I think it's because they couldn't have used bigger plates with stickers because the corners of them would've bled over the edge of the arch. If they were to build the rough shape of the text beforehand, we couldn't sticker it as it would go over multiple pieces -

Thank you, finally someone who agrees with me. Yes, pretty much everyone expected the Visitors Center but that doesn't make this set any less amazing. The brick built Rex looks really nice if you ask me and the gate is a great way to have something to display Rexy with. I really don't get why so many people are upset about the scenes in the back, some even said they would've preferred a plain, grey backside. Lego was going for a display set but still wanted to include many iconic scenes fans have been wanting for years Yep, I was also hoping for a Visitors Center myself but I didn't expect it, I was open for anything -

It doesn't, only the scenes with Hammond and Ray are actually from the Visitors Center. Ian's scene is from the bunker and Grants is from when he finds that the dinosaurs have been breeding in the wild -

I can totally see why they skipped it though. Look at the base of the gate, you can see the tracks of the Ford in the mud. There's about 7 studs of space between the tracks. The gate is about 2x to 3x the size it is compared in the film to minifigs. Either we would've had a gigantic car that doesn't work with figures at all or a minifig scale car that would look tiny compared to the gate and Rex (and you know there would be people complaining about that) -

I agree with you that it's not what I expected, but I still think it's an amazing set that I'll buy day one. Jurassic Park is also my favorite film of all time and I was personally hoping for the Visitors Center, but just because it's a different approach doesn't mean it's not incredible -

Finally someone who doesn't hate it. I personally think the build for the Rex looks absolutely amazing. Same goes for the gate, even though it looks like the logo is stickered -

I'm guessing when he says "Jurassic Park:" title, he means the name of the set starts with that. Just like 75932 was called "Jurassic Park: Velociraptor Chase" -
That's honestly also one of my biggest fears when it comes to this set. The Silent Mary really suffered from sagging, so much so that mine can't even keep the hull up anymore after 2 years of display

The anniversary of Jurassic Park is on June 11th, I have a feeling that might be the time they actually start to tease it, with a July release date. But then again, there has been so little info about it that I think there's a good chance it won't come out for another 2 or 3 months either
