  1. So it happened much faster than anticipated, this set's price will be on pair with Lego 1:8 Technic cars. Sure, it has more pieces, motors, pneumatics, etc. - but the price leverage is gone. COBI has also very big and heavy models (Tiger I and upcoming Tiger II, over 8k and 11k pieces, 6.5 and over 8 kilo respectively) and it is nice to see CaDa is pushing the boundaries, but I doubt that model after a year on the shelve if nothing is supporting the chassis from the bottom, will work :D Crazy times.
  2. @R0Sch it seems that Lotus is ~25 studs wide. So unfortunately not 1:8. @Bartybum yes and no. Cada still has massive issues with quality (like I wrote, replacing so many parts in Military Crane is a big deal) or their parts and they are closing the gap in price difference. I would say I am more "concern" about new Mattel Hot Wheels cars as they are not only gorgeous but also the quality is very good. I know that as I did buy Mercedes 300 SL. Let's see what future brings us :)
  3. @Sokolov Edward I really hope they did improve the quality of those gears, otherwise most of them needs to be replaced with Lego. I had to swap 12 of them in my Military Crane from Efferman, plus a few axles and CV joints as Cada's are bad.
  4. Well, on one hand I do understand Lego - they do not want to do the same things over and over again, i.e. construction vehicles which are not different in terms of functions. On the other hand, currently they are basically doing that but with cars... I assume that the cars are easier to sell. Market did change and if they see the increased number of sales in the automobile section it is understandably. I do not mind cars if there is anything interesting in addition to them. Which, unfortunately, is not. I did have high hopes for Volvo Excavator but it looks like wheel loader is the golden set this year. With all the new parts I hope for a proper backhoe loader as Volvo have them and they would fit the scale pretty well. On top of that - I have no idea what they could actually do to appeal to us and to the wider audience. Another 42043?
  5. Ok, so it looks that the red gear has too much friction and the black axle rotates it. I have to find a way to replace it with some genuine lego part to avoid that problem. I do kinda wish I was aware of that potential problem before. My suggestion to the designers for CaDa here - @efferman, @eric trax (Eric, if you not doing that already) - please consider adding a step to check all of the functions and desired outcome of your gearboxes just when they are closing up and any potential problems cannot be discover upon completion of the set. Thank you! EDIT: as I did not have all my parts at hand, I did find a LEGO axle 5l with stop, on which the red gear spin freely. I did use spare part from the set to block the axle from falling out with half pin with pin hole. After that all works ok. Still a lot of grinding, specially in the upper structure and boom. As a first experience with CaDa I am moderately pleased. Will try again in a year or two. PS. what I am actually impressed about is how agile the model is with only one L motor and how small is the turning radius. Cudos to you, @efferman!
  6. Not much force, but I feel that it does "build" the energy to turn when I am holding it. Thank you for the schematics, I will try to see if I can slightly move the clutch from the red gear when upside down, as this is annoying as hell. Also I did get a bunch of extra spare parts, like 5 u-joints, a few of beams and so on. Instructions have some issues, one part (used on connecting two rear axles on the turntable) has some molding problems and I had to slightly shorten the 3l axle in order to build it without any extra tension. One step has missing completely the required parts for it. Overall, it is really nice model. Personally I did not expect that the boom will go so far behind the base. A few flimsy things. I think I will just throw a bunch of Lego parts to make it nicer and feel "whole", specially on the back of the boom - there are a few pins sticking out and I will just add two round pin holes to make it nice. Thank you :)
  7. Hello :) So, I was able to get c61507w for a good price, new - thank you @effermanfor replying to my questions regarding motorisation. I did complete the set and it looks awesome. However I have a "small" problem. No matter which position I do select on the gearbox, the upper structure rotates left and right. The selected function does work but the structure rotates as well. If I "hold it" in place while, for example, extending the boom, it does work. But I have no idea why it does rotate anyway. Did anyone encounter the same? I am sure that I did not switch gears while building the main box, so if there is no mistake in the instructions I have no idea what went wrong. I would appreciate any help or clues before going to dismantle half of it.
  8. Thank you @Auroralampinen but I will not pay more than RRP for that set :) If anything, I would expect it to be cheaper with time :D
  9. That is unfortunate and at the same time I think I will skip CADA. Model was released only about a year ago, I would expect to see it at least till EOY25. Thank you efferman for your reply. If you hear anything about producing it again, please ping me here or privately. I would appreciate it very much. Have a nice week!
  10. Hello :) I was lurking here for some time and I was thinking on finally trying CADA, especially c61507w (crane by @efferman). But I see it is missing everywhere (I am from Poland). On Amazon.de and other websites too. Was this discontinued already? I see it non-available here as well: https://decadastore.com/products/cada-military-crane-truck-c61507w I understand it is an official store. Soo.. it this model already gone?
  11. Oh man, they are lazy :D So many motorcycles and they are bringing this one back :)
  12. Well, personally my all time fav is 42043. Lego outdid themselves with that model. I would be happy if they introduce something like that again, but this time fully remote, good looking, with pneumatics, suspension, fake engine and some linear actuators. I have no idea what it could be but I want it :(
  13. I like this set as it has space for improvement easy way with a medium inventory. Cannot wait to make it look amazing next to the Mack :)) same scale I believe.
  14. @Milan my apologies, but this has to be frontpaged :D It looks amazing, @gnat_bricks! I love the chassis details and the tail lights. Any chance for instruction? :>
