Johon just sighs. Johon could see literally no way to cope with Drake. There was no reason to even respond anymore.

OoC: Needed some way to end this. Johon follows the dark-clothed character down some streets, see them head into a building. Johon looks around, noticing a clothes line spanning across the street. He jumps down, grabbing and swinging down to the floor. He turns around and rushes into the building. He's about to approach the figure when they take a hood off. It clearly wasn't Mizuki. "Crap." Johon mutters to himself, then leaves the building. He walks back to the hall and notices a familiar sight. The doors are broken... Again. "Who made these doors anyways?!" Johon half shouts, walking into the hall. A few heroes motion their heads towards Drake. Trying to put the past behind him, he walks towards Drake and sits down. "Can you please try not to break the doors? They aren't great doors but kicking them isn't helping." Johon mutters to Drake, then gets up and goes back to Purpearl.

I don't think it really is. I think it is completely plausible. For example, when Johon arrived (at the time called Alf), he was an amateur free-runner. I have hinted at this a few times, but no one really seems to notice. He also isn't the most skilled free-runner. That's why I showed his thoughts about why hadn't he just looked for a ladder. I didn't think that having Johon climb a building was un-RP.
-
I understand that. What I'm saying though is that drinking by itself, without really any RP with other players, isn't very effective. I could be wrong, but that's how I view it. Like maybe the first few times, and sprinkled in here and there later on is one thing, but an entire post dedicated to a character drinking is starting to remind me of Drake.

I still think that a player-made amulet or ability that grants the user to travel at the speed of light, regardless of RP reasons, is powergaming. I, for instance, want to make a custom multi-purpose weapon, but am waiting for the right opportunity to meet a NPC in a quest that would be able to help me make it. If this was the case, I suppose that having a speed amulet would be RP, but even at a quest-based level, an amulet granting the speed of light is extremely OP.
-
Wait, Mizuki can travel at the speed of light? Isn't that kind of Powergaming? I mean, even in fantasy that is really pushing it, especially considering Mizuki is a human. If anything, I'd consider at least having Mizuki unable to do such things anymore because she lost some amulet or something, or make up an RP reason. Also, did her speed have any affect in quests, because if it didn't, then I would say you can just pretend it didn't happen.

He is at a height advantage, and I did specify that Johon had been practicing free-running. Also, spotting someone in these conditions isn't very difficult. 1. Mizuki was running away, presumably through a crowd. 2. Mizuki is wearing black clothing, and many civilians do not wear black clothing (as far as I know) 3. Johon was from a height advantage so he would be able to see from the top view, as well as civilians moving out of Mizuki's way. 4. Finally, Johon is an experienced hero, and probably has better than average sight.
-
'Shunpo'? What does that mean? Johon wonders, noticing Mizuki run off. Johon looks around, then starts climbing up a nearby building. 'Why didn't I just look for a ladder?' Johon thinks to himself, half-way up. When he finally reaches the top, he looks down at the street, difficult to see faces. Eventually he notices a black-clothed figure running through crowds. He starts jumping from building to building trying to catch up to her. (When Johon was running out of the hall) "I don't mean any harm, I just need to find out what is going on."

I know that, and I am arguing that such consumables shouldn't have to be RP related like this. If it gets to a point where all mead is mead and alcoholic, I'll just say Johon has some herb or something he puts in it to neutralize it but keep it's affects.
-
But I think players should be able to get benefits of consumables (At least basic ones) with issues like this. Johon in RP doesn't drink alcoholic beverages, and I don't think he should be crippled because of that.
-
Johon, seeing Mizuki Kimura a few tables behind purpearl, stare at him, then scuttling around and picking up her belongings. She brisks past him and out of the hall. "Excuse me, I'll be right back. I have something to attend to." Johon gets up and quickly walks out of the hall. Looking around, he notices Mizuki walking away. He quickens his pace and approaches her. "Why is it that every time you see me you run off?"
-
Embarrassed, Johon sits down. "I don't want to sound like a jerk, please, don't figure me wrong. I just..." Johon says, swirling his hands in the air, trying to come up with a nice way to put it. "I personally think drinking is bringing out the bad in us. I don't think that alcoholism solves any problems really."
-
Speaking on this subject, is it ok to pretend that meads and such are potions of some sort? Johon is not an alcoholic and doesn't drink beer or other such beverages. If we can't then Johon is basically a total moron and hypocrite. I guess that is a good point. When I am imagining a barrel I'm thinking of this, which could be completely inaccurate. After all, I am guessing that this RPG is supposed to be real people, and only represented with legos, correct?
-
Yes, I know that, and that is partly the reason I am saying this. I don't want any new players heading down that path. I'd like to keep players here, and although what I'm saying sounds harsh, I am just trying to fix RP things like this. I know that Drake was a bit... different, and that most players will be far less disregarding than him, but I am trying to prevent such things. (Totally not a run-on sentence! ) Realism, or at least as far as realism can go in an RPG, helps RPing in my opinion. If you don't have realism your character doesn't really have any limits. It can just get silly after a while, then people don't really care about it anymore, and they leave. (Or are kinda kicked out if you are Drake)
-
I'm not saying you can't do it, I'm just saying it'd be better to be more realistic in my opinion. If you had just got a single barrel I can see it being more plausible, as in you may not drink a whole barrel, but ordering two would imply you finishing at least one. I know I've been guilty of doing the same things early on in this game. For example I was 'apparently good at throwing knives' when my class could not even use knives. I'm just saying this to try to make the game a bit more realistic. Also, (this this my personal opinion) I don't think that drinking really adds much to a character. I mean other than the fact that they are probably an alcoholic... I suppose you can use it to get your character angry and making them reveal thoughts they didn't really want in the open, but just sitting in a corner and drinking doesn't really add much to your character...

Looking over at Purpearl, Johon hears her ask for two barrels of bear. He walks over and sits next to her. "Why do you do this to yourself?" Johon asks, clearly concerned.

That, stupid astronomers in Heroica, or a really complicated but theoretically possible orbit system. On the topic of of realism, how can people in Heroica possibly drink as much as they seem to?! Drake did the same thing, apparently accomplishing drinking 1 or 2 barrels, about his weight in beer, without even falling asleep... This is just getting to the point of being silly in my opinion.

Well excuse me! I'm just making a suggestion, you don't need to go all out negative. Scientifically speaking, Olegia's equator may not be at all the same as ours. For instance, Olegia's axis's tilt could be much different than our own. Speaking of which, I'd like to ask Sandy about this orbit system? Is Exofors supposed to have approximately the same density as the sun, therfore somehow keeping the other planets in orbit in between the two? And is Exofors even orbiting the sun?

If you want a winter quest I'd recommend just sending the heroes to an area that snows in general, not seasonally based. That way seasons don't really play a role cross-quest wise.
-
Johon, hesitatingly, signs up for quest 81.

"Are you serious? You criticize everyone and expect them to follow you! You will stumble because of your flattery!"
-
"How do you plan to unite anyone, Guts? I can easily image you being killed in the near future. Not by the enemies of the hall, but by your quest-mates."
-
"Benji, stop this madness."
-
"Take the throne of Eubric... First of all, how do you plan to do so? Second, why do you want to? And third, how do you plan to fight resitance?"
