Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
spiderfan2000 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
Considering this is the 35th anniversary of the franchise, I'd certainly hope there's more than one set coming. This seems like an ideal opportunity for the theme to be putting out extra sets, or even a CMF series. -

The idea of a gold Batman minifigure reminds me of the minikit build from the very first level of the first LEGO Batman video game. Probably just a coincidence, but I still think it's sort of neat. -

I mean, if it's a comic based set, I could see the build being a small storefront or something to go with the other buildings we've been getting. -

Apparently Cream was the third most used character during the closed network test for Crossworlds earlier this year, so I don't think she'd be a bad choice for a car set. -

A Raimi Daily Bugle would definitely feel more distinct from the D2C set. Spidey and Jameson have existing minifigures, and I'm sure characters like Betty, Robbie, Hoffman, Peter Parker, and Eddie Brock would largely reuse existing prints, leaving most of the minifigure budget to go towards a new Green Goblin. -

I'd like to think the Sandman set is a Spider-Man 3 set with a Symbiote Spider-Man (maybe with a breakable water pipe build?) because it could have some synergy with the Spider-Man 2 train build we just got. -

If we end up getting a new DCEU Batmobile, I wouldn't mind Harley Quinn being included, considering how rare the TLM2 version is. -

I wonder if the Batman Logo will include minifigures like the Marvel Logo does. As a note, the Captain America and Hulk minifigures from that set have a few prints that remain exclusive, and it was also the first appearance of Iron Man and Thor torso prints that were reused in other sets months later. Maybe this could help get some of the Arkham villains their proper costumes? -

I think the last minifigure scale '66 Batmobile came out in 2021. I think a five year gap between releases seems reasonable for a design that is pretty iconic. Of course, I wouldn't mind if they surprised me and went with a design that hasn't been done before, like one of the Arkham Batmobiles... -

I think the set looks cool, but I'm overall still fine with my TLBM Arkham, and the lack of new villains is rather disappointing. The only minifigure I'm really interested in is Batwing, mainly because he's never been done by LEGO before. Ivy is also a highlight, but I don't know if the new version would quite be able to replace the TLBM version as the definitive LEGO Ivy in my eyes. -

I'm curious to find out how many of these new minifigure prints will remain exclusive to Arkham -

For another comparison, Across the Spider-Verse was released in June 2023, but didn't get a single set until January of this year. So early 2027 for Superman set(s) seems like a reasonable guess if LEGO gets started on development now. -

Hopefully we'll get Hydro-Man and Jeff the Land Shark somewhere in that wave... -

I mean, LEGO didn't do anything for Across the Spider-Verse until this year, at which point we got a set and a CMF series for it, so perhaps something similar could happen for Superman if we're lucky enough. -

So apparently the Team Sonic Command Truck was featured in the latest TailsTube video today, so I guess it's canon now... -

At $10, I'm not expecting anything else to be included. With this wave appearing to be racing focused, I wonder if the summer wave will continue that, or if they'll do something bigger for the 35th anniversary. I'm still hoping for a CMF series. -

It's now being circulated on Reddit that Brick Tap apparently reported the January sets as: 77117 - Sonic's Car (6+): $10 USD 77118 - Silver's Car vs. Knuckles' Monster Truck (6+): $30 USD -

I feel like they missed an opportunity for a fun comics reference by not giving Bane his costume and a rocket launcher... -

I just purchased the Biolizard set through Target for $35.99, and built it. I think it's a pretty neat build overall, and it's good to get Super Sonic and Super Shadow in a reasonably affordable set together. Now the only minifigure scale sets I'm missing are the Egg Drillster and the Balkiry polybag. -

The LEGO version of Tails' Workshop (especially when folded up) seems like it might have been inspired by the version in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, though it's not an exact match. -

Next year would be a good opportunity for LEGO to do a Sonic 35th anniversary CMF series, though I'm not sure how likely it is that they'd go for it. -

I do like that we've been getting more location builds for Spider-Man sets this year instead of the random Spider-vehicles that felt like they dominated the line for a while. Definitely feels more fitting for Peter "Late on Rent" Parker, and the buildings could be fun to display together. Even the train would be pretty easy to fit into a display with the rest of the 2025 sets. Hopefully these location builds will continue to be the main approach used for future Spider-Man sets. -

I guess the Egg Crusher might be the closest thing we'll get to an official set from Sonic Prime. The Extreme Gear for Knuckles is a neat addition too. The Burrobot and Caterkiller are good additions to the Badnik collection, though the continued lack of Orbot is baffling at this point. Rather disappointing that there's not a single new minifigure (not even any new face prints from the looks of it) in this wave. I'm hoping that 2026 makes up for it, considering the 35th anniversary of the series should be the time for LEGO to go all out. I'm hoping that the Chao Garden reference in the Command Truck is a hint of what is to come for 2026. -

Considering we don't get that many new characters a year, I'm not really expecting comic characters to get LEGO minifigures unless the theme lasts long enough to get most of the notable game characters done first, and/or LEGO does a CMF series.
