REVIEW - Halloween Accessory Set (850487)
ETAV8R replied to cunningfox99's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Welcome to EB! Nice review for a set I was on the fence about. Now I will get it for sure. The zombie is great especially since I missed out on S1 zombie. We all need more ghosts. The tombstone will look great along side the haunted house and/or the zombies set. -
To each their own. I prefer minifigures.

Wow this is rad. I don't care for the figure selection but that is the only thing I don't like. I could see this used in many different themes. Somewhere Doc Oc is hanging out or Tony Stark. Maybe there is a new monster creation or alien in the orb. I can also picture new uses for the SW Planets. Nice work!

Review: 10228 Haunted House
ETAV8R replied to mostlytechnic's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review! I can understand the modular fans wanting this but I don't see it sitting on a busy street with the other modulars. It sits up above and away from the city perched on a hill. It is a scary yet curious place for the city residents. The bravest of which will venture to explore whats up on the hill. Then even further in the distance is some castle wrapped in clouds and fog. -
Well done! You got my gf and I discussing stuff in the Haunted Mansion and I found the following site with lots of information: http://www.doombuggies.com/home.php

Although this has little relevance to 10228, the following site has a lot of info for Disney's Haunted Mansions. After spending some time reading about the history of the mansion and differences between the different versions I am looking forward to this set even more! http://www.doombuggies.com/home.php I'm certain that most here reading about this set will find the site interesting.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
ETAV8R replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Neat that the Alien Villainess' bio mentions sending out saucers to conquer...Alien Conquest. -
Finally got the Swamp Creature at Target in SoCal. They also had the Zombies and new star wars too! I wanted more than the measley swamp creature but it is a great set for the price.

[Review] 9461 The Swamp Creature
ETAV8R replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Target finally got the Swamp Creature in stores here. Great little set. Wanted it before your review but definitely had me lusting after it. I am surprised they didn't try to put the creature in a bigger set to get more money for it. Can't beat it for the price! p.s. You can put the extra revolver in-between the two held by clips in the front of the boat. -
Amazing piece of lego industrial aeronautical beauty.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

I'm still stoked for the evil alien queen. Her brain looks translucent even though she has a pink head underneath. Winner in my book but I'm also a big AC fan. Evil robot is a winner too, there are quite a few good figs here and something for everyone. -
Well done What is the upper canopy piece from? I don't recognize it.
-
Great work there. I love the comparison picture of your fleet. I say do them all. Also nice to know about the back story regarding Vader and his influence on the TIE design.
-
Great review! I would like more lighting in the pics but no worries. I'm glad you showed how the wings attach to the body. Also thank you for the comparison pics. Sad the price is so high. It is a system set and therefore should be about the size it is. Artwork for Darth Mauls Infiltrator show it to be much larger inside which would not be made as a system scale set AFAIK. I still want this set but am willing to wait for a sale.

The rancor set looks great. Just as suspected when the pics of the bottom of the palace were shown with the four square holes on the underside. The palace will sit atop the rancor pit and allow for figs to drop into it. Also, Luke uses a skull to hit the button for the rancor door to fall, which is included in this set. I can picture all kinds of mocs growing from both sets in the future. I have a feeling the set will be slightly higher than the wampa cave.

So cool. I will share this with some of my friends from the Corps. I would suggest that with this Dress "Charlie" uniform to change the tie clip and have it from right to left. The dress uniforms are great too. Please reference the WM (Woman Marine) dress cover as it is different than the male counterpart. Thank you for producing these images.

I was just comparing the LDD and the brickbuilt versions. Any reason you decided not to go with the yellow on top of the canopy as it was seen in the LDD version?
-
Looks great. What do you plan on putting in the courtyard? Did you use one or two castle sets for this? It is quite symmetrical. I like to envision somehow working the castle, zombies, laboratory, and haunted house into some motif but it seems to be overkill.

Why threaten a member for a comment? Some may find it funny even though you do not. Is the term gestapo so damming that you are offended by it? Lighten up. This is a site about Lego and AFOLs. We're not children even though we all like childrens toys. This is a great site for sharing ideas, MOCs, and reviews yet it is more regulated than any other forum I'm a member of. I'm of like mind and believe LOTR should be in Licensed themes but we wont try to argue that point anymore. Perhaps he wasn't aware that a lot of discussion had already occurred regarding this. Why not point him in the right direction instead of being so negative? Two wrongs don't make a right. Right?

REVIEW: 850423 Minifigure Presentation Boxes
ETAV8R replied to SilentMode's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I picked up this set yesterday for two reasons. First, I don't ever recall having a blue space minifig. Second, it is a cheap parts pack for some window frames in white which don't usually come with too many sets. At least from what I have seen. I built it and now have my red, white, yellow (all original from way back when, and the blue fig that came with the set. Above them all are the recent CMF space related figs. -
Those follow up pics are fantastic. Such a great design. Would longer gear allow for the little buggy to get up without removing the turret or is it the height of the turret not fitting inside the ship itself? Although making the gear longer would take away from the very cool look of the ship when the gear are extended. Extending the length of the ship itself would allow even more cargo, say more troops or two small vehicles. p.s. From an aviator, switch the red and green translucent pieces on the sides. Red=port/left side Green=right/starboard side

Rad! Looks great in real life. Where are the fragile areas? Could you take some pics of the gear up and down? I could definitely see this as part of the second wave of AC where the ADU has to battle the aliens on their home turf. Ever consider sharing the LDD file?

I too thought this was based on the movie with the train and never clicked on the link. An arctic theme would be cool, no pun intended. I could see it running over at least two runs. It could be based on the ice and below it too. A lego whale would be neat. As far as the many different themes Lego has produced over the past couple years I like the variety but I also think they should do a run, take a break with other themes and then return to said theme. Rotating them essentially. It would be like an old friend coming back to say hello.
