  1. Thank you both for the kind comments.
  2. Welcome to Eurobricks, rasmus You may find this tutorial to be useful to post your pictures. And this other one about Brickshelf (photo storing site) could help, too, as you have a very limited space for attachments. I'll wait until you have everything up before adding your entry to the list
  3. Another beautiful entry! And it's good to see more Ladies enter the customisation world, too. Everything looks good with the rules. Good luck for the voting.
  4. Please do so. Even if one will not be an official entry, I'll be curious to see them both
  5. Really funny entry, Sorrow! Glad we could inspire you to make your first MOC for Eurobricks P.S.: You used 6 pics instead of the 5 allowed by the contest's rules. Can you please change the first one into a link? Thank you
  6. Thank you for this neat entry, Globemaster. As others, I'm not familiar with the series, but this is a good occasion to expand my knowledge! P.S.: You have 6 pics in your entry, while our rules allow only 5. I have to ask you to change the last (reference) picture into a link. Thank you.
  7. I see KielDaMan kindly answered your question already. So yes, it will last till the 27th of October.
  8. Yes, I pictured it was for that I'll try to remember to send you the dates for the next meetings as soon as I know them.
  9. Thank you KielDaMan. It all started with the fountain area and a very small atrium. Then I realised Cleopatra deserved a better throne room , and so I enlarged it As for the brickbuilt Egyptian idol statues, they come directly form the Indian Jones 7621 set instructions, I just used dark red jumper plates and shorter 'legs' Thanks. The councellor gave me some thoughts, as I was going with a dark brown minifig and short blak hair, then I changed to the current one, which seems to fit the role better. I' glad you like the small details I put in it. I agree, the last photo really is the best, and I'm really happy I could get the shot I was looking for Thanks for the comments, lightningtiger. I did not put Pompeius head in a basket because they tought me that Caesar had already burnt it and shipped the ashes to the widow by the time he met Cleopatra Moreover, I quite frankly did not think about it Thank you, I Scream Clone. I always spend some time posing the figs, consiedering it the last, but certainly not least, part of every MOC. Yes, Caesar really looks a bit like Dooku from behind; but he certainly smiles more Thanks. As already said, the original design for the Anubis statues comes from an Indy set. The tiling gave me some thoughts, as I was not sure I head enough blue and yellow 2x1 tiles for it. In the end, I had some leftovers, too On a side note, Caesar was the last big of the Republic; the Roman Empire started with his heir (adopted in his testament) Caesar Augustus. Thank you, Masked Builder. Thanks, The Penguin. I'm glad I could satisfy your craving for a Roman use of the Spartans Those micro-figures sure come in handy in many ways Glad you like it, Lego Freak. Well, you know, the throne is what makes a throne room worth its name I agree. Before starting my MOC, I cheked BS and Flickr for inspiration, and I noticed an awful lack of creations fro this era. So I really had to do something about it, didn't I? Thanks for your kind comments, and, as they say, 'the devil is in the details': some of them were quite tricky to complete and harmonise with the rest.
  10. Happy Birthday Thrash! Have you made any new customs lately? Anyway, have a great day
  11. Ehm... What happened here?
  12. Hi all, I recently build one of my few historical MOCs, and, something rare in last months, found the time to photograph and post it Caius Julius Caesar went to Alexandria of Egypt in pursuit of his former son-in-law Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus in the last months of the Civil War. Unfortunately, Pompeius had already been killed. After an argument with the Egyptian ruler, elected in Alexandria by the Macedonian aristocracy, Caesar met Cleopatra (another rightful heir to the throne, already recognised by the rest of the kingdom) and helped her to conquer the power over Alexandria. Here I built and imaginary representation of Cleopatra's palace, with a small garden and fountain and a throne room: It all began with me wanting to try the technique with the PoP arches to make the fountain, then I enlarged the MOC and gave it some background story Some other pics: Two Roman legionari (soldiers) guarding the entrance from the outside and detail of the fountain. Cleopatra on the golden throne, with her counsellor. Note the front legs of the throne, made with the micro-figures from the 8684 Collectable Minifigs Series 2 Karate Master. Caesar and his Centurion. The yellow bar in Caesar's hand represents the symbol of his military authority (a vine rod). More pics on Brickshelf and Flickr. Comments and constructive critics are welcome.
  13. As far as I know (I'm new to the LUG ), there is a number of minor/local events at various times in the year, then the two major ones (at least in Northern Italy) are Ballabio and Torino, in late Spring and early Fall respectively.
  14. You have to post your entry (custom figure in a vignette) in a new topic in this Minifig Customisation Workshop forum, typing "MCW Contest 2010 Entry" in the topic description line.
  15. There seems to be a bit of a controversy on the paternity of these decals. Even if you modified commdr_neyo's decals, The_Customizer, you did not even credit him. Moreover, if he told you not to distribute these designs, you should have done as he asked. I get it it's easier to modify an existing design than making a new one, but please do so in this case and any similar case in the future. We do these decals for fun, and we do not want to run into personall quarrels which spoil that fun just for being lazy. This is why I removed the deeplink in your post above and I ask you to post your own designs only. Thank you. Correction: I seem to have missed this post before . Please re-insert your latest link Well, as you see from the post in the last few pages, we have people actively working to get decals done. Please be more patient. I'm sure you'll get your requests fullfilled eventually. Thank you.
  16. Hi Alyssa91, please use a maximum text size of 3 in your posts. A bigger text size is very annoying when you are are not using it for titles and similar, and we ask our members to use it as rarely as possible. I'll edit your post to reduce text size now. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
  17. Hi Samaroni, I see you are new here on Eurobricks, so welcome. Please refer to this topic for discussion about the MCW Contest 2010. And, to answer your question, you have to create a new topic with "MCW Contest 2010 Entry" in the topic description line. Once you'll acknowledge this post, I'll move our discussion to the right topic.
  18. Very good humor with this purist entry, Nathan Drake! And welcome to Eurobricks, too! It reminds me a bit of this scene by Dr.Legostar (vtw, if you have never seen his comics, do it now: it's really worth it!) Good luck for the voting.
  19. Maybe you mean a machete?
