The Hitchikers- Guide to th.....
LuxorV replied to Lord Starkiller's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Well, you can start with the custom minifigs by JackGrimm (here). Then you can see the contest held by Shadows (known at the time as 'imperialshadows') and Mr.Mandalorian (a.k.a., Mandy Lory Ann). Oh, sweet memories! And you can finish with my other five humble vignettes Advertisement - All of this was brought to you folks by the wonders of the Search function! Enjoy Btw, they are under Other LEGO Themes, for some reason (i.e., the Licensed forum was not live at the time, and then they looked better where they were ) LuxorV -
Hi Thunder-blade, please reduce the pics' size to less than 800 pixels (as max dimension), as required by our guidelines . Nice customs, btw LuxorV

If you are going to venture into the Minifig Customisation Workshop during these days, you've better be prepared: you may meet a couple of dangerous aliens who won't wait a minute before confonting you with their deadly weapons and technologies! Bobskink brings us, directly form the Predator universe, the mighty Yautja warrior (click on the pic to jump to the thread) Armothe, taking inspiration from the Halo universe, introduces the other contendant: the Jackal (aka Kig-yar) (Click to join the discussion on the interesting techniques used to build this custom)

It's very nice to see that you don't stop working on a project once the first version is finished, but keep trying to improve your designs I remember when you posted the first Predator, and it was just amazing at the time; now you made an even more realistic version, and not just one, but one for (almost) every Predator know through the movies Of course, my favorite is the Wolf Predtaor from AVP: Requiem, both for the name (based on the character of Winston Wolf from Pulp Fiction) and the attitude/combat style: do you plan on making him, too? Very interesting techniques! As said, it strikes as quite to very compicated at first glance, but it hides a beautiful simplicity of design Great job, Armothe! I also nitice the new Clear Space Marine Armor over there. I always wander why TLG do not produce clear minifgs; they would be perfect with this. Hope it's not the proverbial 'armor of glass' (btw, I seem to remember there was a song/music by the same name in the original Halo soundtrack) LuxorV

New LuxorV's style: (ignore the weapons ) Parts' list: Head, Torso, Legs and Headgear (in Dark Brown) Just got around to up-date it after more than one year of indecision. Those Space Police III legs and the 'Mutt-like' headgear gave me a great impulse LuxorV

If you can, please add my new one (details below), else the old one is good too New LuxorV's style: (ignore the weapons ) Parts' list: Head, Torso, Legs and Headgear (in Dark Brown) Thank you for organising the group shot again this year LuxorV

a quick question about lego colors
LuxorV replied to tin7_creations's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Indeed this is a problem most of us non special decal paper users must face. I find it that sticking a piece of Scotch® MagicTM Tape on the design helps a bit; but it's not the solution. I think darkening the original image is the only solution, but it must be made as a case-by-case process, and it probably is different from printer to printer and possibly from paper to paper. Anothe aspect to take into consideration is that it is that not only the colour is lighte, but it is also less brilliant. Again, the scotch tape can help a bit here. I'm sorry I can't help more, but I never came up with a good program to solve this issue myself, so I don't know what else to suggest. Btw, it appaers to be a common problem with white decal paper, too. LuxorV -
Nice to see you back again, Sir Gecko, and great figs! But, wait... where has the little gecko logo gone? LuxorV

Please stay on topic!! LuxorV -
I never saw the show. That said, based on this picture, I'd suggest using: this or this one head; this one would probably be better, if only he had a beard and this headgear As for the body, I don't know how he uses to be in the show... I don't know how good it is for a Chad Vader fan, but it was worth a try LuxorV

Hi all, please allow me to make just a reminder: since new people enter the Minifig Customisation Workshop for the first time each week (probably each day!), it can be useful to repeat some basic rules we like to follow here. When posting a decal request, please remember to be polite: a 'please' and a 'thank you' at the beginning and at the end of your request will indeed make it more appealing Also, please provide, any time when it is possible, reference pictures of what you are demanding: it will help to avoid confusion, simplify the designers' work, and add a touch of colour to your posts! - Of course, remember the guidelines on the image width, too Lastly, we know how much you like LEGO and how happy you are when playing with it; it is a natural thing that you want your decals as soon as possible. On the other hand, our decal designers work for free and they have other things to do in their lives, too. So, if your request takes some time to be processed, please be patient. If you need a super-fast work, try contacting the designers directly via PM. Thank you for your attention, and happy customising LuxorV

Thanks for the information. I'm sure some of our customisers will be interested in partecipating. Now, since Eurobricks does not encourage members to create new topics just to advertise their own forums or contests, maybe next time just add the link in your signature. Thank you And since this topic fullfilled its goal, I'll close it now. LuxorV
