Hitchhiker's Guide to the Vignette!
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'd like to enter this as well! -
The crap boat bit made my sides hurt :-D
-
I like this, very Lego-esque. The Inn is my favorite building, I like the viking designs on it.

Wow! I'm really happy about 7622 and the motorcycle set, those vehicles are great. I hope they made or will make a tank though, I don't want to have to buy that Batman set to get tank treads.

I really enjoy reading this, it's quite fun to watch y'all interact with each other. Your characters are great, I they're very lively. I think Stan might be like a sort of nautical werewolf, who turns into the monster every so often but doesn't remember it. It might explain his "fleshie ness" (I never trust fleshies). Or maybe he does and he locks himself in the crate after killing Stinky to prevent himself from doing it again? What makes me dislike Star Trek is that they tend to rely on inventing some new and unheard of method of escape which always miraculously works.

The anatomy lecture was my favorite as well. I'm curious as to what their collars were made of...it seems like playmobile piece perhaps?
-
I love the architecture of your fire house, especially the classical looking fountain and the statues *y* . The yellow was a great choice, it goes very well with the white.

This made me ask, are spectators allowed to post speculation and theories about the story in this thread or any other particular thread? Or should theories be private?

The Wild, Wild West Building Contest: Entry Thread
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Here are my entries. Although not overly Western, my first entry involves Lewis and Clark, who are often credited for paving the way to western settlement by exploring French territory in North America, which extended from the Missisippi River to the Pacific. Here our intrepid explorers have made a mistake and entered Canada, where they meet a French Canadian fur trapper. "Go away, you silly American explorers! Your mothers were hampsters and your fathers smelled of elderberries!" My sig fig enjoys a chuckle with the rest of the garrison. A detail of the French Canadian taunter. A close-up of Lewis and Clark. Monty Python anybody? Anybody? X-D Here is my second entry. These confederates think they're pretty smart. They've built a wall over the vignette space. Overlap, what overlap? X-D What they didn't count on, however, was that the crafty Native Americans would go around the vignette. "No fair, ya hafta stay on the vignette!" -
That looks great for a first try. I'm sure soon you'll get the bugs out of it.

Thanks Bonaparte, I'm honored! Thanks for everyone's comments!

This doesn't seem real to me. The set looks like a MOC, it has the old skellies in it and both the new and old skellie faces.

Congratulations Optimus Convoy! Hope you have more fun with the tray than Hinckley did! :-D

what makes it so adictive???
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to hollisbrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The ability to create so much out of a limited selection of shapes, I would say. -
I myself think the facial expression of the firefighter is rather deranged looking ;-) Lol, the floppy cave monster episode :-D ...good times! Hear hear.
-
I like this *y* ! I get a fantasy/steampunkish feel from the building configuration. My favorite is the building on stilts that makes a tunnel *y* . Is the village about to suffer from zombie infestation? ;-)
-
Impressive 8-o ! My favorite figs are the mamelukes, they're fantastic looking.
-
Very awesome. I especially like the landscaping and how the Eldorado fortress blends into the cliffs. I also like all the details, especially the whale tail. The press gang in the last picture is something not seen very often. Gritty historical realism ON!
-
Maybe the good guys could be like the EPA from The Simpsons Movie, with attack helicopters and stuff?
-
Yes, they do. They came in a promotional set called 2536. There seem to be a fair amount of stores selling them on Bricklink. Hope this is helpful!

Medicine Man's Totem Pole: WW/Indian MOC
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think this is great *y* My favorite aspect to it is how you rendered the eagle at the top. How did you attach the face component directly underneath the eagle? -
I would love a theme like this, I really want some gritty urban realism. Especially a nuclear power plant, it would remind me of The Simpsons.
