  1. Are there some alternate design IDs for the Uruk-Hai sword, maybe some non-copper colors available? 10050 is the design ID I know of, but it's only even listed in copper on B&P.
  2. What, because those sets are already close to retirement?
  3. Man will the green villain stand even look good at all, being molded in those colors? I have no idea, but I'm gonna order one. Just the sort of part that I think, well, if I have zero of these in ten years, I'm probably gonna wish I had one lying around. (See, that's the root of evil there, this notion of "well I might want one eventually". Our bank accounts cry out in despair when that phrase is uttered!) But, well, still waiting on the Hidden Side goons' legs to be back in stock before placing another order. (Speaking of things I haven't all that much reason to buy!)
  4. Thank you! Very good stuff! Definitely gonna get some of those in black as well as trans-clear.
  5. https://brickset.com/parts/6356406
  6. I hope that 79194 in black is available at some point... Not sure if it's just temp out of stock or hasn't been sold on B&P yet.
  7. I doubt that Lego-original IPs will sell well to adults, in general. I think Lego-original stuff isn't very likely under the 18+ banner. What you see marketed to adults is generally either licensed (Star Wars or other nostalgic properties), or based on real-world things, like the Sydney opera house, or whatever else. Or, mundane city-ish stuff, like the Creator roller coaster, the modulars, much of the Creator Expert line. While I mostly enjoy Lego's original IPs, I think I'm in the minority among my age cohort. There's a reason that the more fantasy-oriented Ninjago sets are clearly for the younger demographic, and the plausibly-real-world-city ones get the D2C treatment. (And you see it reflected even here on Eurobricks, where there are many fans who only like Ninjago City, Temple of Airjitzu, etc., the ones that can fit into their Lego cities, but they aren't out there buying every mech and dragon.) (Also I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP! already IS the modernized Galaxy Explorer. That's what a love letter to classic space looks like. And, if you want to see more of that, that's very fair! But I wouldn't count on it, unless Lego thinks they can sell it to the children too.) If I had my way we'd see space and castle continue forever, with stylistic revamps every few years. I'd like to think today's children would buy those sets. But unfortunately Lego seems to disagree.
  8. If I built some fortress on a (possibly raised) 32x32, or 32x48 baseplate, then a dozen figures would seem enough to populate it... I mean, if I did some small setlike builds, if each figure has a clear purpose within the diorama... Will I really want more than twelve? What I'm trying to say is, you people are a bad influence! (But, if the Ninjago orcs get cheap enough on BrickLink then I WILL order even more of them, against my better judgment and in line with yours.) Gonna stay on the lookout for various sci fi/fantasy torsos; got a lot of parts that'll be for some dwarves, but I haven't the right torsos yet. Hopefully, Lego will oblige with new nice torso prints soon. The design ID is 73109. Brickset lists it in two sets so far: https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6326478 Also check out 73230, a 1x1 brick with an axle hole! Not even on Brickset yet! What's with 66509? Two 2x2 jumpers, fused. Is that part necessary to exist? Dunno, but it does now! Just a lot of "combination of basic things" parts coming out in 2021. Almost too many examples to name; you might pore over the PDF posted upthread (copied from that now-downed website that occasionally posts new parts info), because there's a lot of interesting stuff in there.
  9. Still waiting for the legs for the Hidden Side ghostly minions to come back in stock... Was gonna place an order recently but I wanted to get eight more of those, to have a dozen of those guys total. (My policy at the moment is that for any massable figure, I'll allow myself only a dozen, as that's more than enough for a large build. I'm not one of those "200 orcs on a baseplate" people; I'll let myself accumulate way too many minifigures total, but I'll at least TELL myself that I have builds planned to go with them.) Lots of weird 2021 parts in general; that 2x3 plate with cutout, for example, is really strange, not something I would have expected at all. And the 1x2 Technic brick with the 1x2 plate sticking off it at mid-level? What even is that?! Definitely gonna order a bunch of 6329386 when it's in stock; that new trans-light blue robot head. I imagine that part will be very popular for a long time.
  10. A fair question to ask those people, too! At least for many of the licensed themes, the fans' answer will be "minifigure prints that we wouldn't get otherwise". I'm not a licensed-sets fan, but I understand wanting to see prints/specialized molds that wouldn't be made otherwise. (And, for me, when I see cool new versions of the ninja from Ninjago, well, I gotta have 'em. And of course we get other great stuff too, like the Ninjago orcs from this past year. Even if, for example, various good fantasy-themed minifigure parts already exist, they often aren't cheap on BrickLink. But if there were a new castle theme, maybe there'd be lots of good torsos and legs available on B&P. That definitely is valuable, cheap and plentiful useful parts!) For people who answered #2, well, they're paying Lego for the design. That's totally fair. But, for me, a lot of the point of new waves is just giving us useful new parts (like the long lightsaber hilts from Monkie Kid, or the 1x1-1x1 brackets, or any number of other simple SNOT parts of recent years), or parts in new useful colors, or more/cheaper supply of parts that technically existed before. If Lego's release schedule ends up lowering the BrickLink price of parts/colors I want, great. If new things show up on Bricks & Pieces that I want, great. And yeah I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a bunch of sets lying around as-is. Of course I do; sometimes I see a new set design and I say "I gotta have that". But a large majority of the money I waste spend on Lego is just BrickLink/Bricks & Pieces.
  11. Wait, is that actually for the pearl gold version? I mean not only is it listed as costing almost a dollar, but that's the element ID that Brickset shows for the chrome gold version. (And wouldn't the unchromed one have a different design ID, anyway?)
  12. B&P ships separately from other stuff. They haven't offered me free shipping on it ever, though in the USA it's $3 shipping so it's never a big deal for me anyway. That American privilege, I suppose. What's the ID for the ring?
  13. So, what are the reasons to want a new space theme? I mean, sure, I get it, on one level. It's an endorsement of one's aesthetic taste. But, well, in practical terms, what category would you put yourself in? 1. "I want a new space theme because it will have good new parts for spacecraft/parts in useful colors." 2. "I want a new space theme because I want to take the sets as-is and put them on my shelf." 3. "I want a new space theme because it would provide inspiration, a jumping-off point, a new idiom or style in which to build ships." 4. "I want a new space theme because it would provide minifigures that will fit in well with my custom space creations." 5. "I want a new space theme because it is pandering to my aesthetic tastes, ideals, and nostalgia, an implicit endorsement by Lego of my preferences." 6. "I want a new space theme because I believe somewhere, deep in my guts, that it can recapture that lost childhood magic, even as I look at every actual new space-ish theme and it never quite satisfies." (Sorry if this is calling you out too hard.) I guess what I'm saying is, in this age of plentiful parts from BrickLink/Bricks & Pieces, where getting a pile of part X is easy, where the spaceship of your dreams need only be designed and then you can summon the parts for it... Well, what does an official space theme do, that you can't do yourself? If I had to pick, I'd say reason 3. I like Lego's original themes a lot because they're aesthetically strong. If they can show us a new idiom, a good-looking style, then yeah I'd love to build a bunch of MOCs in that style. (Well, I say this, but then of course the customs I HAVE made have been of... Styles of my childhood, from Aquazone. So it's possible that nothing beats nostalgia.)
  14. Not sure what it's like in the pandemic, but in general for USA-USA orders years ago, if the order was very small the shipping was very small too. I mean, most sellers have some kind of minimum order (though some of the really small American sellers, who're doing it more as a hobby, don't). I've had various orders with shipping costs in the $5 range; really depends. But these days I tend to make big orders, not least to dilute shipping costs. Or, perhaps what I should say is, once you've looked through the stock of that store, you'll want to buy way more than $3 of parts from them! Really though, just find a seller who has the parts you want, and look at their terms page. They'll probably give a good idea of shipping costs. And yeah, if you're planning to make really small orders, then domestic is best. Whenever I buy from Europeans I gotta make it a big one or shipping is half the cost.
  15. Hah, fair. I love me some Ninjago myself. Ninjago-style vehicles that happen to be spaceships would probably be the closest aesthetically that we'd get to a modernization of old-timey space themes. Maybe it's a better idea than I thought! Maybe we'll get skeletons or snakes in spacesuits, even! How about this then: Fantasy Era Castle, in space. Space orcs, space dwarves, space elves, space skeletons. Jousting on jetbikes. (Ok Nexo Knights already did horse jetbikes.) I guess this'd be as close as we ever got to Lego 40k.
  16. Here's an idea that will make everyone mad: No new proper space theme, but, a later Ninjago subtheme is Ninjago-in-space.
  17. Very good work. It's really hard to strike that balance between faithful and modernized; I think using the original canopy really helps a lot. That canopy part really defines that era of space sets.
  18. Very faithful to the Galaxy Squad aesthetic. Uses the right era of parts, to fit in with the look.
  19. What's going on in this screenshot? Why does it say the "total cost" is about twice the nominal parts cost, BEFORE S&H? What does it even mean for the store to say "no fees", if it's going to be like this?
  20. Were Wyldstyle's various The Lego Movie 2 faces just never on B&P?
  21. I tend to keep all my original builds built, so I end up just shoveling more parts onto my BrickLink/B&P orders. If something's in a creation that I consider good/finished, then yeah I'll almost never take it apart. Which, well, makes Lego quite an expensive hobby, if so many parts' destiny is to end up in something permanent. Many sets get broken down for parts; I apparently have far less reverence for those than for my own designs.
  22. That's an unreal price. I assume it's UK only? Doesn't seem like they sell to the States! Well, have fun with it, you Brits.
  23. There are exactly four Parker faces, right? These are the numbers I have: 6276896 6289266 6289288 6271729 Am I missing any?
  24. People on other parts of this forum: Say "This will be an expensive year!" when they see set names for whatever big licensed theme they're into Refined geniuses B&P addicts like ourselves: Say "This will be an expensive year!" while cramming lots of cool parts that we have vague plans to use into our shelves.
  25. You know a part Lego should bring back? 3614b (BrickLink number), the old maxifig hand. What with the resurgence in towball-based joints... It would fit so well with modern things. I'd surely buy dozens and dozens on B&P if it came in any remotely reasonable colors.
