  1. Not a fan of the truck at all, seems like wasted opportunity to make something great out of it. I'm beating myself up for not pickup up Arocs and waiting for this one. It seems like I'll save a lot of money and just get the rally car only this time, which does look quite nice especially when I look at the possible price range.
  2. And it seems I missed all the fun and pictures, but from what I read I think rally car would be most up my alley or maybe a truck if it has some nice features or parts
  3. Will you give it to me now then? I completed the first step in this promotion, how long is the wait for the slap?
  4. Yes I've got a 42070, I live in Lithuania and as a girl in licensed LEGO store told me we here get new sets very early here (this time even earlier than review units got to Sariel and Jim.
  5. Well they will have to ban me too, I enjoy it too, so you're not exactly alone xD
  6. Exactly that xD I made a few mistakes myself - I didn't put in a that red thing at the step 188 and built it only saw the mistake when I had to insert something in it. thankfully it wasn't bad to remove it. Stopped the build at 02:30, couldn't take it anymore. I was actually concerned about diffs so I managed to keep them in order myself
  7. I think that is exactly the reason. considering so many diffs and possibility of having them placed wrong way would be easy. Though I think these sets considering their prices and so should be enthusiast sets (less colors, shorter more steps per page instructions). I don't know about the rest of the world, but barely any 11 - 16 year can expect to get sets like 42070 or even the Porsche. Also while I was playing (AKA scaring the cat) for a bit with 42070, I was smiling like a 8 year old. Steering is no good, I'd replace it with servo (don't have one sadly) and the M motor with another L or XL (don't have one of those either), but it is fun and the truck looks amazing. A lot of possibilities for modding for sure same as Porsche.
  8. Just finished building it and had a few moments to enjoy it. I must say it does have faults (going back to most of what Sariel has said in his review), but it looks amazing, build was very fun and it's also my first RC LEGO set, all in all I'm pleased with it, in terms of parts I got and of the model itself. I don't know if I'll go back and rebuild it to B-model...
  9. Yes with this I agree a lot, I'm at step 499 of it and it's 2-3 pieces at the most as someone who doesn't fit into the recommended age I'd want more complexity. That being said, the build is insanely enjoyable, not as enjoyable as a Porsche, but out of recent models certainly 2nd best. The strange part of this build is how it uses different colors for live axles red on the drivers side grey on passenger side, found it weird.
  10. @Sariel While I agree with most of the points of your review, I think it was well worth getting for me, not done building yet, only half way, but for me it was the same with Porsche last year.
  11. Thanks, had a few problems with email confirmation, but finally got in! I am, considering review units got you guys just a few days ago, was thinking someone was trying to joke here when they said they have, drove to the store just for fun after work and bam, it was there. Really impressive amount of gears in there. Only on step 194, but I can't put it down even if it's 01:00 here.
  12. I was a stalker of this forum ever since I bought the Porche last year, but I guess it's time to register. Went to an official local LEGO store after someone here said they have in Lithuania. They received these new models a few weeks ago according to the girl there 3 of 42070, 2 were sold, I got the last one today. 279 euro... that's a lot for my country. Anyway, so far only got to building the base of just added last rear axle. I must say I'm enjoying the build and for me who got back to LEGO just 2 years ago it's amazing parts bucket too xD (Didn't have XL motor, IR or the old (new red) diffs). Really like where this set is going so far, will judge once I've finished it, but I like it so far. Also strangely 42069 wasn't in the store and neither in LEGO catalogs there for 2h of 2017... dunno what that means.
