  1. Did you see the Bluebrixx ready room painting art set? I didn't end up getting that one, but the juxtaposition of those two builds reminds me of it.
  2. I'm looking forward to the Black Pearl, but only so I can rebuild it in Royal Navy colors in Studio and get the ship that way.
  3. I really doubt it's minifig playscale, and of course it's not minifig truescale. The 60 cm length sounds reasonable for the 3600 piece size.
  4. A few years ago I built a Psiaki X-wing. The white parts that form the sides of the nose were rare to begin with, having come in only one or two Exo-Force sets, and almost all of the supply had already been used by other people for their Psiaki X-wings. I had to pay over $6 each for two of them. This summer I finished restoring an old Black Seas Barracuda and an old Cross Bone Clipper that I got the hulls for about six years ago. The old dark gray firing cannons for the two ships were about $5 each, the 40L string with studs for the Cross Bone Clipper was $7, and the replica sail for the Cross Bone Clipper (not an original sail) was $20 including shipping. One yellow part for the stern of the Black Seas Barracuda was $4 plus about $7 in shipping, so I added a $5 polybag to the order to keep myself from feeling like I was paying $11 for a single part.
  5. That's no saving grace - it's easy to think of ideas to get desirable Star Wars characters and army builders in $10-$15 sets without resorting to mechs.
  6. Well, I mean, sure, yeah, we all expect a new Razor Crest set to tie in with the Mando movie. Lego would be stupid not to make one. But I see no reason to take your word for it happening when this is your first post on Eurobricks and you don't seem to be moving over from an established account on any other platform.
  7. That's a fine little ship and a great way to use the old classic small hull parts. It's a real inspiration if I ever get around to buying some old small hulls myself. I particularly like the simple, yet intentional, furnishings in the aft cabin.
  8. I've always said Lego is the best company in the world at competing with itself. So many interesting kits, can't get every one of them. But I do think it makes sense to release playscale and UCS versions of the same subject at the same time. It's not like they haven't done that many times before.
  9. I didn't expect to have any interest in the One Piece sets, but the Going Merry will make a fine merchant ship for my Black Seas Barracuda to raid. I might even get it with a GWP instead of waiting a year or two for a 20% discount.
  10. You mean the way Adventurers was an audition for Indiana Jones? In that case I'd prefer to keep the audition and pass on the license.
  11. Ugh, sorry to hear that. Hope this doesn't become a trend.
  12. Yeah, I'm looking forward to a lot of Blacktron builds with this new windscreen. I'd rather have a standard ESB Snowspeeder with the new windscreen, though.
  13. The Ewok is cursed. The MTT looks really good for $90. Wait, what, it's $160? The Clone Turbo Tank also looks really good for $100. Wait, what, it's $160 too? The most interesting thing about the V-19 is the trans-yellow windscreen. I think it's a new mold that updates the old classic windscreen shape with a new attachment point at the front. If so, I hope it doesn't displace the windscreen that's been used since 2011. I was hoping the Jango Fett Slave I would be larger than the 2021 Boba Fett Slave I, but it's not. That means it's no longer a potential day-one buy, but something to get at a discount months or years from now. The Hot Rod Snowspeeder looks terrible overall, but I'm glad to see it finally has a new bespoke windscreen designed specifically for the T-47. Because it has a black frame and trans-yellow glass for now, I expect to see a lot of Blacktron T-47 builds in the near future. I hope there's another ESB Snowspeeder in a couple of years that has the new windscreen with a white or light gray frame and trans-clear glass, even if the build for the next ESB Snowspeeder is likely to suck just as badly as the build for the Hot Rod Snowspeeder sucks.
  14. Wait, who said the hot-rod T-47 can carry a speeder bike? You're right, that sounds like something "vaguely T-47 shaped". At this point it could still be a banger of a set if I can somehow talk myself into thinking that it resembles classic nonlicensed Space sets of yore, but that's *unlikely*.
  15. The only summer set I'm really looking forward to is the playscale Jango Fett's Slave I. I'm cautiously interested in the V-19 and the UCS AT-ST (?), but the hot-rod snowspeeder better be a friggin awesome build that revolutionizes T-47 set design to justify its price tag. I'm worried it'll just be another 2004-2019-style T-47 build at an absurd markup.
  16. It's a big car, but it's just Batmobile-sized and we need more civilian cars in that size class to coexist with them. Since this is a villain's ride from a dark and scary piece of children's animation with an Art Deco style, it will go particularly well with the Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile from last year. I hope I can get this for half price without the minifigs, or on a good sale - I can think of several Batman villains who would love to have a sweet ride like this. Really looking forward to better pictures of the front-wheel steering, too!
  17. Maybe the person who made the video was confusing the two rumored One Piece ships with PotC? Edit - Speaking of HMS Victory, Bluebrixx has announced a 1:100 scale display model of it coming soon. https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/bluebrixxspecials/108872/HMS-Victory-BlueBrixx-Pro
  18. Call me a stick-in-the-mud, but the only Classic Space figures I want are red, white, yellow, and maaaybe blue. Well, ok, I do like the pink ones too. But I don't have any personal interest in collecting every new color of Classic Space figure. (I wouldn't mind light bluish gray though.)
  19. @Peppermint_M: That pirate ship looks a lot like the first pirate ship my brother built out of basic blocks ca. 2002, and like the one I built (and then rebuilt in 2020): Here are Studio reconstructions of a couple of starfighters my brother and I built when we were kids: I built this alt out of my 7141 Naboo Fighter a few times: And here's a starfighter I built in 2004 that I still have; it's mostly an alt of the old 7470 Space Shuttle Discovery:
  20. @danth You probably know this already, but the Nightmare Shark Submarine has a lot of trans dark pink windscreens and bricks that would make it a good parts pack for, I dunno, a Nightmare Shark Spaceship or some cyberpunk sci-fi faction. Duckbricks and Austrian Brick Fan both have good reviews up.
  21. I remember that too! It was good fun for a good wave in a time that seemed simpler because I wasn't all grown up yet :)
  22. Honestly, I would have preferred a 3182 lookalike.
  23. I'll note that while this is a very impressive build, it uses substantially more pieces than even the 2019 Falcon. Maybe it should be simplified, if possible, to be more like a hypothetical retail set from the era, without changing the overall style or dimensions.
  24. Wow, this is amazing. I don't think the 7190 Falcon was half-bad, but I didn't know it was possible to build a genuine pizza-slice Falcon using parts from the same year. Thanks for posting!
