[Alt-Build Contest] Krennic's Shuttle (75389 Dark Falcon)
icm replied to codyaner's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Excellent alt build. At first glance it's a dead ringer for the set it's inspired by. Looking forward to the instructions. -
Thanks for the pictures! I just put it together in Studio a moment ago.

LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

Eh, I agree that it feels a little forced, but it doesn't bother me too much because I never take the helmets off the bucketheads anyway. -
Walt, three Batmobiles? There's the Tumbler and the Forever, but what's the third? Edit, the third is the 4+. I usually don't remember those.
-
I put down full price for a $48 playset of the 1989 Batmobile. I paid $48 for a $60 playset of the BTAS Batmobile at 20% off. I paid full price for a $150 display model of the Classic TV Batmobile with the Books Are My Passion GWP. I'll be content to pay $48 for a $60 playset of the Tumbler at 20% off, even though that's still $8 more than the larger, better 2021 Tumbler playset at full price. But there ain't no way I'm buying a $100 playset of the Batman Forever Batmobile. Well, maaaybe if I could get just the car used for twenty or thirty bucks.

I don't like the AoU Quinjet design as much as I like the original Quinjet, but at 1131 pieces the new AoU Quinjet should hopefully be just as good of a model as the 2022 Quinjet. I don't really care about having the Phase II variants of the characters and I don't need Quicksilver or Ultron, so I hope I'll be able to get just the jet without minifigs for half price or less.

If such a set is inevitable, it'll be a crime if it doesn't have a 1x2 tile for the Bat-Credit Card.

I believe I've written an essay about it in another thread on this site, but, with all due respect, you entirely missed the point if you think that Luke didn't die a meaningful death as a heroic sacrifice after showing up to fight Kylo and defeating the First Order, because that's exactly what he did. As Luke might say, "every single word you just said was wrong." -

Hey, @Lego Nostalgia, I just hope you're self-aware enough to realize that you're acting exactly like the people you complain about, just with different content in the "I like this" and "I don't like this" boxes. Particularly with respect to your comment "old politics are fine but it's this new stuff that's ruined everything" - that's such an old-man-yelling-at-clouds thing to say. But let's not get too deep in the weeds of the politics of each entry in the Star Wars franchise, hmm? We'll forgive you and move on, and agree that pretty much every theatrical and streaming entry in the franchise deserves some slots in the ongoing LSW remake cycle, hmm? -
In my opinion, City has been great the last few years, at least if you like vehicles. We're getting a wide variety of vehicles that are very common sights in the city, built to very high standards of building techniques, playability, realism, and coordinated use of color. I also think the exploration and space themes with City on the box have been very good builds of very interesting topics.

Very good use of those wheel arches. I have one of those Adventurers car pieces kicking around in my bins somewhere and I haven't been sure what to do with it - this is a good idea. Would you be willing to post any more pictures of how the chassis is built?

In early drafts of Star Wars, the "Stardestroyer" was a small two-seat fighter operated by the Empire. As the story and concept art were refined, early art for a wedge-shaped fighter evolved into the civilian T-16 Skyhopper, while the Imperial fighter evolved into the eyeball-shaped TIE Fighter and the wedge-shaped Stardestroyer became the enormous Imperial battleship that we're all familiar with. During the production of the prequel trilogy, George Lucas wanted to revisit the idea of the Star Destroyer as a small fighter craft. He asked Doug Chiang to come up with a design for the Star Destroyer shrunk down to the size of a fighter, and Doug Chiang responded with the Delta-7 Aethersprite, or Obi-Wan's Jedi starfighter from Attack of the Clones. This was a very successful design in-universe and it was an immediate hit with the fans, too - which is why Lego has made so many of them over the years. As soon as I saw the midi-scale Acclamator, I knew I wanted to turn it into a starfighter, as a rather more literal take on the idea of taking the shape of one of the big gray wedge-shaped capital ships and turning it into a starfighter. This is a pretty simple modification that I hope to be able to build one day if I can ever find the source set 75404 on clearance. Because I've only built this in Studio, stability is not guaranteed, but I might decide to make instructions and put them up on Rebrickable anyway. Let me know if there's any interest. PS - If any of you has ever, say, taken a midi-size ISD build and turned it into a starfighter, I'd love to see that!

We might even amount to a gross. I mostly liked the sequels, and I bought a lot of sequels sets between 2015-2020. I agree that Lego covered the sequel content pretty comprehensively when the movies were coming out. But it's been five years - it's time to start introducing sequel remakes into the regular set rotation. I'd like to see another Black One X-wing right after the next Hoth Snowspeeder and Luke's Landspeeder - two sets that also deserve another remake before too long. -
With those parts counts, 76973 is probably a T-rex transport and 76976 is probably a base with two big dinos, maybe a Spino and a Mosa.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
icm replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
As someone who absolutely loves Space and Blacktron, I think the new Renegade is pretty darn good. I saw it on display at the Lego store a few days ago and it looked even better in person. I haven't bought it yet because I'm waiting for a good GWP. If there is, as rumored, a Blacktron II GWP later this year, then that'll be the time to snatch up the Renegade. But I don't like the B model well enough to plan on getting two copies. By contrast, I bought four copies of the Galaxy Explorer on day 1 - the A, B, and C models for me, plus one copy for my brother. -
I would expect they would be the season 3-7 uniforms.

Now show Luigi vs Lex Luthor! -
I think @Renny The Spaceman is jonkling. Let's keep the jonkling in the aslume, please.

Well, there's the answer! I was wondering which Enterprise they would do and how big they would go. That's nearly twice the parts count of the Bluebrixx version (1971p), and that's a terrific minifigure list. Nine minifigures and a cat will fit splendidly in my Bluebrixx Type 6 shuttlecraft and my Type 6 shuttlecraft moc set designed by Lilium Brick Yards (formerly Ky-E Bricks). I kinda feel bad about wanting this for myself when I haven't bought Rivendell for my wife yet, but on the other hand my wife hasn't finished her 10497 Galaxy Explorer yet.
-
Yes, but that doesn't count as it was before the launch of the Super Heroes theme.
-
I know Bluey has lots of adult fans, I was just referring to matching the nominal age range for the sets to the nominal age range for the audience.
-
At first glance I feel like it doesn't make sense for Bluey to be System, since it's a preschool show, but then again Bluey and Bingo are aged what, 4 and 6? So they're old enough for System. I guess it could go either way.

Brick Fanatics has a comprehensive review of the 60446 Modular Galactic Spaceship. It looks like there's a treadmill and screen in the space behind the cockpit. Their review misquotes the price (it's $80 USD, not $100), but it's otherwise very informative. I can't wait to chase down the Galactic Spaceship with the Renegade for some deep space pirate action.
