Thanks Kiel. I was going for more of a dark Gotham look. The water is a little flat, but this is about the best I could do with Photoshop water. Maybe I'll try building another retro 60s model this weekend. Thanks for sharing that image AJ. I had printed a few images from different angles to try to capture the look of the real deal. Appreciate the feedback guys.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
WesternOutlaw replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Oky: my apologies. I didn't realize you had posted these images when I saw the news on TBB early this morning and front-paged it. In any case, thanks for sharing the great images. I see that Hinck updated the first page with them. Sweet! I can't wait for a little battle with the Imperial Flagship and the Queen Ann. -
Glad to have you join us Gareth. I hope you enjoy our LEGO Train community.

Watch it Penguin or I'll sink that sub of yours!

It must have been a Batboat weekend Gcanik. You've managed to capture the look of a modern Batboat nicely. I really like the design of the tail end. The little extras like the scuba gear add to the playability. I'm sure your son is having fun with this.

Thanks LGG. Thank very much Penguin. That's a very nice compliment. Also, thank you for sharing that outstanding clip of the Batman movie. I've got it on DVD and now I want to watch it. Edit: Here's a new photo-edited image with the Batboat in Old Gotham Harbor:

Thanks Burman - that's nice of you to say. Appreciate the feedback Buddy - if I could just get the front-end a little more sleek. Wouldn't that be great! I'd love to see some 60s Batman sets, esp. the black and red Batmobile. That would make an awesome set!

Thanks Kiel. I really appreciate the nice feedback. I'm working on the SNOT. I'm not happy with the front-end and reconstructed it a number of times. The difficulty is raising up the front section nearest the windshields and having that section lower to the front-end smoothly. The awkward shape of the front boat section makes it even more difficult.

Here's a picture of the limited edition box: I could be wrong, but if memory serves me correct, I received extra bars in my box. It was a Limited Edition. Here's a picture of the 1x2 tiles: Good luck with your purchase!

I've always liked the LEGO Batman theme and lately I've been admiring some of the minifigures as well as Batman Hotwheels and models. While at my local TRU, I was looking at a small replica of the 1966 Batboat and thought to myself, "I'd love to try building that with LEGO". Not the easiest creation to build as my supply of blue tiles are VERY meager, I tried using some SNOT techniques to capture a more streamlined look of the boat. I'm still not quite satisfied with the front-end and I will certainly share some more pictures, but here is my 1966 Batboat: After building, I thought I would add a stand to the model, so here is a picture with rotating stand (with white background): The decals and wording have not been photo-edited and are custom made and printed on an HP printer: EDIT: Additional Images Looking down on the Batboat: Within the cockpit are the intrument panels/gauges, as well as diving gear: Toward the back, you can see the large flame piece and engine exhaust: Another side view: And the inspiration image: EDIT: Some additional images: In front of Old Gotham Harbor With Divers background

Interesting design Tony. I esp. like the large boiler assembly. I'm trying to figure out what you used on top; are those whip pieces? I also like the sloped back sides. The light grey side pieces add a simple yet effective accent color. Nice and very different from your traditional steam locomotives.

MOC: Black Lagoon
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Would love to see one, or even something similar. The plastic of the Minimates Creature is much lower quality. Interesting point RB. I must admit that I didn't give the palm too much thought, but you certainly have a good eye for detail. I had grabbed this palm for convenience. I think many like the multi-piece palm so that they can make them taller and more realistic. While I've read some of the pros and cons re. palms, I have so few, I feel fortunate to have either (appreciating them for the green leaves). What I did realize, only after photographing the MOC, is that my palm is new brown compared to a dark brown shore line. It's hard to tell in the photo, but they are different. -
Very nice Pif. I love the curved design of the tower. Nice colors and the SNOT water came out real well with the white and light blue plates. Sharp!

MOC: Black Lagoon
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the feedback fellas - I did replace the image with something I liked better. Yes - my only non-LEGO minifig. I had to purchase after seeing the Creature was available (I have a few varieties now (glow-in-the-dark, and b&w). Tried a few things, even clear cheese slopes. Ended up with simple black. Glad to hear they look good. I've still got 'er intact and I love using the old Rita in background images - thanks. Derfel: thanks for the comments. This MOC is nothing in comparison to your amazing Town creations. Thanks Kiel. This is my first real SNOT build. I wanted to try something a bit different. I think the finished MOC is just okay - I may try building a larger scene with more a classic design (my comfort zone). -
MOC: Japan Railway - Kyoto Station
WesternOutlaw replied to PrinceWilliam's topic in LEGO Train Tech
PrinceWilliam: this is amazing but I'd appreciate you not posting images larger than 800x600 in accordance with our site guidelines. I've replaced your station images with links - but there may still be a few images larger than 800x600. Usually, 640x480 works just fine. -
Welcome Bel - I hope you enjoy the Train Tech Forum. EB also has a "Hello My Name Is" forum for general introductions. In any case, train fans are most welcome in our Train Tech EB community.
