  1. What an absolute joke the lego store is. Been trying to order since last night. Must have tried over 50 times and keep getting the "Sorry an unexpected error blah, blah, blah". I have tried 3 different browsers, I have deleted cookies, I have retsarted my laptop over and over and over again but keep getting this message. Ok, I can phone on Tuesday (Monday a bank holiday here and they may be closed) but that's not the point. A company as HUGE as Lego should not have these problems with online shopping - no matter if there is a mass surge in customers. Poor show. Sorry, just had to vent my anger at this. Edit: Fixed. Got in touch with Lego via the Chat service and a very pleasant operator solved it. I am posting it here in case anyone else has same problem. If you are paying with paypal DO NOT click the 'checkout with paypal' link. Click 'Checkout' instead, you will get the option to pay with paypal on the next page. Works this way for some reason.
  2. Thanks Lobot, glad it's not just me! Will try again tonight/tomorrow and revert to phone if necessary. Can't miss out on this Slave 1. Have not heard a bad word about it! Gonna look awesome in my studio.
  3. I'll maybe try a different browser, have heard that might work.
  4. Would love to say I have just bought Slave 1 but I keep getting bloody errors with the lego store I had heard that the lego store server frequently goes down, I do a lot of online shopping and have never had the problems I am having trying to get this Slave 1!?!
  5. Well, I am sure I will love my Slave 1 too....if I ever get to buy it! Am on lego store just now and keep getting errors (code: generic). Have never ordered from lego store before, is this normal?
  6. Anyone else having problems with lego store. Get all the way to checkout then "Sorry a system error has occurred. Please call customer service (code: generic)"
  7. Thanks, am defo sold on Slave 1, going to buy it tonight with the 10% off deal. Will be a "dad display set" though my wife has already made her interest known in buidling the set with me when the wee man is in bed! Regarding the sandcrawler, that is probably next on the list - and this would prob be one I would allow my son to play with, under close watch though! Due to the cost of UCS I will only be buying one per year. If the sandcrawler is too costly this time next year then next on the wantlist will be the Speeder - though that will sit on display next to Slave 1.
  8. Polybag available now (uk). Have Slave 1 in my checkout and the R2 bag was added automatically. When was A New Hope released in the cinema in 1977? If it was August, perhaps the UCS MF is getting released then to tie-in with 40yr Anniversary.
  9. Really? Never used Quidco before. Done a quick search and some negative comments out there but good ones too. I take it you have shopped at lego via quidco before?
  10. Slave 1 with 10% off! Think it is fate as I have been contemplating Slave 1 for the last few days. Pity about no extra VIP points but I done a calculation and figures work out the same: At normal price (£180) with triple points (540) that would equate the Slave costing £153 (the points would be worth £27). At 10% discount price (£162) with normal points (162) that would equate to the Slave costing £154 (the points would be worth £8). So, as much as I was going to hang off for triple points with Slave 1, going by my calculations I would be as well buying it now.
  11. From what I have read on most reviews of the newer Slave 1 is that they did not use the stickers.
  12. That's it settled for me then, Slave 1 it is. I will hold off as long as I can for a good deal or next time Lego shop have triple VIP points on the go. Just dreading telling my 5 year old son that this is "daddy's lego" and is for display only!
  13. Something I have looked at recently and looks awesome. I have never bought a UCS, but looking at how much retired sets go for on ebay I think I may have to sell myself and get Slave 1 before it gets waaaaay out of my league. Does anyone know when this set will be retired? As much as I would love to build a UCS MF it is not only pricewise out of my league but it is soooo big there is knowhere to have it on display. Slave 1 much easier to find space for.
  14. So many minifigs I never realised had not been released! I hope TLG continue to keep making stuff for Episodes 1-6 rather than just concentrate on the new films.
  15. Have my eye on buying the Cantina and just thought it would be awesome to expand it and add in loads of characters that were in there. Prob just have to make do with who comes with the set! They could have at least included the barman!
  16. I'm not very knowledgeable on minifigs so thought best ask here - are the two chaps from the mos eisley cantina available. Don't know their names but the line "my friend doesn't like you, I don't like you either" will explain who I mean. They are also in Rogue One (fleeting appearance) so thought they may be available somewhere or other.
  17. I too would like to know how to get the list in bricklink. I have spent over three hours studying Flail's mod pics and trying to source manually the bricks from bricklink. Prob is, going by photos I have no real clue how many I need of each piece!
  18. I didn't get the mail Maybe I opted out of emails at registration. Must go and check that.
  19. Lol, there's no way I am getting a UCS any time soon. Not only is the price unjustifiable to the wife but my boy is only 5! UCS won't be on the table (pardon the pun) til he is at least in double figures.
  20. Yeah, that's the plan. After talking it over with the wife it's decided that the MF will be a family-build this Christmas. And between now and Christmas I will be stocking up on bricklink to deck out the interior and cockpit (akin to Flail). Not sure of filling in the pizza gaps yet though as my boy will be constantly playing with this I imagine. UCS models definitely in my future plans and hopefully my son will have lots of memories to cherish. My dad wasn't into Star Wars or Lego so I was a solitary builder as a kid.
  21. For anyone who has done the Flail mod, could you tell me how much of the original pieces are used? And how many extra pieces need ordered? It's a pity Flail, or no-one else for that matter, didn't make instructions for this. I would have gladly paid for instructions.
  22. I suppose that would depend on how much you would sell it for without all the figures. Btw, love this forum. So many helpful folk! Edit: Gutted! Missed out on the Ebay one by £1! Was putting my son to bed when bid was at end point so couldn't make a counter bid when my own was outbid. Oh well, keep looking then.
  23. Thanks for the advice Lobot, already decided I would be ordering just after 12am! I can sense frustration though regarding what you say about the servers :( Regarding the bricks, thanks I will check bricklink for those. I really wish the Flail mod had a parts list (or at least what sets the pieces came from) cos it is gonna take a long, long, long time to find the individual pieces I need. Wont copy it brick for brick though, just the sections I want. Especially want to do his cockpit mod as the way it is provided in the set is not good enough.
  24. True enough, that's the speeder my son has. I did think about buying one without the minifigs (seen one for around £42) and although I could live without the Dewback and Sandtrooper I would have to buy Greedo, Han and the Biths. This would then surely take it up to the price of a complete set. Seems there's no way to get it cheaper than buying the full set really.
  25. Going to take advantage of May 4th promo and get the MF for a family christmas present (son too young to build on his own). I stumbled across Flail's impressive mods and am interested in interpreting some of these in our build - especially the walls you see in the pic). However, I'm not a master builder so not sure how to go about it. I can uderstand how the tan pads fit and what onto but am bamboozled how those 4x2 grey blocks are attached while standing on their end. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please? I have searched all morning for a parts/pieces list for Flail's mod but all I get are photos, which I "should" be able to follow but these on-end blocks confused the bejibbers out of me! Thanks
